Why is it surprising the scum has won? Most of the normal information sources (NK's, lynch flips, associative tells, etc.) are gone in this game, so we don't have much to go on in terms of information. In post 482, Varsoon wrote:Speculation aside, how is it going?
I'm a little surprised that scum has won the games so far.
I'ma do some RQS if you fellas would kindly oblige:
1. Are you Town? Give three sentences to explain your reasoning.
2. In this 3p Lylo format, would you rather be town or scum?
3. What's your favorite Open format, and why?- Maestro

I expected town to win at least once, statistically. It's just interesting. I guess I feel less fulfilled from my earlier scum victory since scum seems to have an easier time winning.
1. Everyone'll claim town. I'm town. Why am I town?
--My role PM says so.
--I'm responding to what's been said to me and trying my best to be as transparent as possible.
--I'm not going to put my vote down first. (Okay, maybe this is a lie)
2. I've only completed one game in this format so far and I was scum. It was okay.
3. This format is fun. Players have to actually do work. I'm exhausted with a lot of my other games because it's largely 3-5 town all fighting themselves and about 4 other players never posting. :/
I like this approach, Maestro. Honestly, if I had to call scum between you two right now, it'd be Syryana, based solely off of how you both entered the game and talked about how to proceed with it. You just sound more genuinely town to me, whereas the questions posed by Syryana feel casual, yet digging for information to exploit. I don't know, I just don't like the approach Syr is taking as much. It could really be argued either way.In post 486, Maestro wrote:we talk until someone fucks up, and don't lynch Town? how's that sound
Anyways, what do you guys wanna talk about?- Maestro

Because I honestly wasn't trying to buddy. I suppose it's as if you took someone out on a date and (s)he accused you of just wanting to have sex with them? Buddying is not really my intent.
I seriously can not stand that eyeroll emote.
Anyway, I don't know what to make of Maestro sitting back like he's been doing and Syryana pressing in with questions. At this point. Syr seems more town to me, since I usually associate content-production with town and relaxed, non-engagement with scum.- Maestro

explain this, because I play this way as both alignments for the most part and I'd add that you haven't really been "producing much content" yourself there, bud (P.S. "producing content" is a kindof bullshit phrase that people use when they wanna say what somebody's doing that makes them look Town, it's a BS catch-all phrase when you need to fabricate a reason to think someone's Town - so try harder Var)In post 495, Varsoon wrote:I usually associate content-production with town and relaxed, non-engagement with scum.- Varsoon

Well, first of all, I'd like to apologize on behalf of previous players who would misuse the phrase 'producing content' in order to better position themselves. I write those words with the explicit meaning of garnering game-related responses from other players while simultaneously speaking towards your own alignment. If other people turn the phrase in order to create the situation you explained, then I am sorry that I must break that paradigm whenever I speak towards the production of content.
That said, I don't care how you 'play' as any alignment. The only thing relevant to this game are the posts within the game itself. How you've played outside this game only fuels shallow discussion that, to me, is a hindrance towards finding your alignment here. It allows players to be lazy, and to not produce content in the ways that I've outlined it, since they can refer to a meta and fall back unto a means of play, justifying their play as that means of play. A metaphor; A man can stab someone and say that's simply part of who he is. It does not negate the fact that the man stabbed someone.
Speaking towards my own production of content, I've posted five times before this current posts, which makes up five of the sixteen (if I counted that right) posts so far. That's 1/3 of the 'activity', which is in line with how there are only three players here. However, six posts (about) make up responses to my posts, and could be examined for tells about alignment. Therefore, eleven of the sixteen posts in the game so far (soon to be twelve of seventeen, once I press submit) exist due to my interaction with the players here. Ergo, I don't really understand what you're trying to imply by saying that I haven't really been "producing much content".- Varsoon

C'mon, at least one of you is town.
Can we actually have some discussion?
The reason scum wins these things so much is because of the short amount of time given and the fact that everyone completely disengages.
Maestro, Nothing to reply to in regards to my 497?
Syr, you really have no thoughts on the current exchanges between us all?
COME ON, POST SOMETHING.- Syryana

Sorry, it's exam week and I don't have much time.
I read your #497 and I feel like I'm reading a transcript of the State of the Union address. In short, it's polished, written with a thesaurus close at hand, and at least a third of it is irrelevant(the third paragraph).
I agree with Maestro's #496 for a couple of reasons: playstyle is IMO a nulltell (except in certain cases, such as a new player) as is this so-called "content production". Scum and town are equally capable of producing large amounts of content.
That said, both of your scum/town tells up to this point have been based on fallacies. First you call Maestro town and me scum for, and I quote:Varsoon wrote:I like this approach, Maestro. Honestly, if I had to call scum between you two right now, it'd be Syryana, based solely off of how you both entered the game and talked about how to proceed with it. You liked Maestro's method of "talking til someone fucks up, and don't lynch town". Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I took that to mean you liked Maestro's laid back, casual approach to the game. Then, a few posts later:
So, now you like me for the questions, and you don't like Maestro because he's laid back? This is a complete reversal from two posts ago. What happened?Varsoon wrote:Anyway, I don't know what to make of Maestro sitting back like he's been doing and Syryana pressing in with questions. At this point.
