The fact that I was scum in that game has no bearing on anything, you realize, right? I posted about that game merely as a means for someone to gain perspective on why I'm reacting to rpm's anger at perceived slights in the way that I did. If you wish to draw a direct parallel, which I did not intend anyone to do, then I would be in the position of the townie doing the insulting, not the scum doing the "being angry".

The more important lesson to draw from that game is my alignment didn't matter as to how I reacted. I would have reacted the same way as town. As I said in my last post, some of the insults hurled at me in that game, as minor as they seemed to the person saying them, corresponded to specific real-life situations I was going through at the time that pushed some buttons that didn't need to be pushed. You can't analyze that type of reaction. It's independent of alignment. That's why I brought it up in the first place - I don't think it's fair by a long shot for piratecat to analyze rpm's anger towards me early on in the game. There are certain things you just don't question, even in Mafia. One of those things is someone asking you to stop insulting them. If you try to consider town/scum motivations behind such a thing, then you're going to be an asshole and nobody will like you. I tried not to be that asshole, which is why I responded to rpm's posts the way I did.

Meanwhile, I'm done talking or responding to Bubba, because if I continue to do that, I'll say things I'll regret.

He's setting up a a chain lynch by proposing a false rmp/bubba dichotomy, saying one is scum if the other isn't, but there's no reason for this. One of them doesn't HAVE to be scum if the other's town, and they don't have any interactions that would suggest this, plus he moved his vote to bubba after he got attacked for his rmp vote.

Mollie: A specific word was used in that game that had direct relationship to a bad situation I had just gotten out of at the time in real-life. I normally don't overreact to crap. However, I understand that I can't know what's going on in people's real lives better than some, and so I accept certain things at face-value and don't consider them as alignment-relevant. One of those is definitely any request to tone it down or drop a specific attitude.

Yeah I am, my first few games my tells and such were still from EM too. Just be aware that most EM tells don't apply here.

Except that you brought it up first (or so I thought from interpreting your post). I was not the only one confused over your post - piratecat expressed confusion as well.

Piratecat asked about my game in which I was scum that I had brought up. You then made a direct response to cat's post. Is it unreasonable for me to assume that you have the reading comprehension skills to understand what cat was referring to and saying? Apparently, it was.

@Rmp - You're moving up my town books, but BBmolla has this in his meta. I normally read him as scum (or at least have in the past) because of this type of play, and he inevitably flips town. It's not a good tell to use against him. Also, vote analysis only works post-flip. Trying to run vote analysis pre-flip is premature, assuming you're referring to traditional voting analysis (determining where confirmed town/scum voted and who voted on confirmed town/scum, etc.) The only thing you can really analyze on votes in Day 1 is whether the voting matches the reads or whether it's opportunistic.

Anyway Day 1 vote analysis can still work because you can see who is wagon hopping and if there are any voting patterns. I'll do it this weekend when there are more votes to use. I'm not talking about reads at all here, I'm talking about patterns. I'm not saying there are any yet but I'd like to see.

Rpm: Wagon hopping isn't scummy unless it's opportunistic. If it's done to apply pressure, it's likely town motivated. At this point in time, it's not really a pattern that you can gain any info from. Not enough votes in the game yet to establish opportunistic voting.
