Someone needs to cliff me in on what the shield is.

I supose it is a wrestling clan consisting of 3 individuals? That are Evil? Why cant shield be power roles?

Yes if shield is evil and apparant scum side there are other factions/neutrals/SK out there.

In post 598, xMALCOLMx wrote:Well let's see. Raven opens up with a gripe about hydras, votes one of them (our slot), and the other 3 votes don't look RVS either. I can understand disregarding a hydra lynch/policy lynch(?), but she doesn't follow up with where her previous 'scumreads' stand in light of her new votes. She just drops whoever she voted and picks on people for single instances, such as saying Nero slipped.
This is exactly what I was talking about #176 (an open call to ferret and Krab to actually analyze the Ravenpaw votes).

With that said, no provided explanation does not mean no explanation, and it's this lack of attention to detail that concerns me about the ferret/krab slots. Rather than pinpoint this behavior (which is indeed scummy) and ask Ravenpaw about it, they were content to just attack her with blanket statements and snark.

Back, but with great displeasure have to have to preemptively say this...

@MOD: V/LA from Sunday, May 5 to Thursday, May 9th
I'm not on vacation, I'm just going to be limited access.
My roommate in my new place missed the visit from the magic internet fairy, so my new place will be in the dark until sometime Thursday when they come again. Not. Freaking. Pleased. I'll still be able to tether from my phone, but I don't have much data so my posting will be limited. I'll be around as much as a possibly can though one way or another. There's a library close by, so I might be able to hit that up.

Reading to catch up now.

Of course I'm going to react if someone outright fucking demands that the Vigi goes on Sven (the most pro-town player here IMO). Also, I see that "reaction test" as an easy way out of GCBC, and by god, I honestly found it very scummy.

As for some complaints on me pancaking, am I not allowed a slight change in opinion now?

Really, if all it takes is "It was a reaction test" to change your mind, then I seriously think you need to bring your A-Game in scumhunting here.

What are you talking about? My mind was never changed. MY reaction to his fake vig was to ask him to claim in full. Yours was to vote him indiscriminately. You didn't even read his posts properly and had to be corrected later.

Not sure what pancaking means, but if you're referring to the early Ravenpaw votes then it wasn't a change in opinion. You said you were going to have to a) read her other posts better and b) wait for more of her play before you made a decision, and then you voted 2 hours later. I don't think it's a coincidence that RatedR and ferret voted inbetween you saying you would have to look it over more and then changing your mind.

Your final sentence is nonsense. You attacking my scumhunting while attributing something to me that I never did. Want to try again?

Geez, Desp, I wasn't even talking to you specifically, why are you in defence overdrive (you have no reason to be). The only part of the message that I spoke about you in particular was the pancaking About the pancaking, I mean the whole Jebus opinions. Come on, that was barely a change, you're doing your best to try and make me look scummy here, when in actual fact, it isn't scummy at all for me having a tiny change of opinion.

I'm going to guess that the other mafia is probably 3 Man Band (Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal) or some random heels in WWE as a team (Jack Swagger, Ziggler, CM Punk etc)

You weren't talking to me specifically even though everything you said addressed specific points in a big post I had just made outlining why I think you're scum?

And you are very keen to call what others are doing overly defensive. Why is that? If anything, I think my most recent post was quite on the offensive side of the equation.

Finally, "barely a change"? Your read went from "Jebus seems more town because scum would generally like to be more immersed and make an impression" to "Jebus' posts have been sloppy and anti-town." Can you explain your spectrum of reads to me, in particular how going from town to anti-town is barely a change?

Except I haven't really responded to that post now, have I? I'm generally responding to GCBC.

Also, I personally think you misinterpreted my most recent post to an attack on yourself. It came across as a defensive post on the whole, and due to your needless nitpicky attacks on me, it just seems out of place.

Your third point:

Anti-town doesn't mean scum. I always thought his posts were anti-town, but they are still Town.

In post 479, Krab Bucket wrote:Jebus has been posting in thread, while you haven't.
I actually laughed at this. Jebus has been nowhere to be found this game, and has said nothing with any real content! A joke vote, an apology for not posting, and a tutorial on how to see activity overview are 3 of his 5 posts! It's why I planted my vote on him a few days ago in hopes to get more people to pressure him back in here. This certainly pushes you to the scum side of my radar,
especially if Jebus happens to turn out as scum.
Reading further shows that his 5th post calls you out on this exact same thing. Could be busing but that's kinda WIFOM-ish stuff that I really don't want to look at day 1. Either way, Krab. This looks terrible on you :/

After an ISO of your posts though, I'm really not sure what to think. Your jump all over GCBC was hasty, but understandable. I would have done the same thing if I had of been on the thread at that time. You haven't been bandwagoning, but your recent posts don't seem to have much in them until your reaction to the vig day shoot thing by GCBC though. I'm leaning null with anti-town vibes, especially with the look of a policy lynch coming from you

@ GCBC: I don't find Sven scummy in the least. I find most of his posts helpful, informative, and very pro-town in content. I agree, there are a lot of them, some of them are useless and it does make it harder to catch up (speaking from experience in this game here), but to even suggest an unannounced vig kill on him just seems like madness and very anti-town. I dunno if it was going for a reaction or joking around or whatever it is you claim, it certainly wan't cool to do and doesn't help my opinion of you either.

I'm basically going back and forth here and can't make heads or tails of the situation. I feel like if one is town, the other is scum. Krabs is giving me the bigger scum radar ping of the two, if I had to choose.
xMALCOLMx wrote:To follow up the traitor crumb thing: I don't think the 3 members of the Shield are the only members of mafia in a 21 player.
Yeah, I realized that later when someone else mentioned it. The theme of the game suggests it could be the case (which is where I was coming from), but the size of the game would leave that far too unbalanced (which I didn't think of at the time)
xMALCOLMx wrote:
In post 232, TheEsquire wrote:Sven goes on to poke and prod people with questions and gets answers. Seems to be actively hunting the scum menace and gives me a very pro-town vibe.
My eyebrow raises at his lack of follow-up/payoff. He looks busy, yeah, but I wouldn't let him or anyone off that easy for effort.
I'm kinda noob-ish when it comes to Mafia. I said I've played before a few times. Never once said I was
good
. That's not the greatest of excuses though and can only be used so long. What kind of follow-up are you looking for here. Serious question, and I'll give you all the opinions/answers you want if you give me an idea of what you want to know.

The SHIELD is a wrestling faction with three people in them, yes. They're heel, and they gang up on people, make sneak attacks on individuals, and are basically like a rogue cop group righting wrongs, even if it means breaking the rules to do so. Definitely not good guys, and the flavour of the game suggests the town is against them.

But you don't have to take my word for it...

How long/many games have you been telling her of her scum meta? ESQ looks fine at the moment. He kind of flubbed when responding to Svet's question earlier - paraphrase: "you say the speed/opportunism of monkey's wagon is suspicious then vote as well". ESQ's reply was a brush off, but I can't fault him for the answer he did give - paraphrase: "I decided monkey's actions were scummier".

The answer I would have hoped for was clarification that he suspected monkey was being bussed opportunistically, while he was relatively easy to jump on. But, anyway..I wouldn't put ESQ as someone I absolutely wouldn't lynch if deadline came, but at the moment I don't think it's worth making a case on him.

Sheeyit. Svet's posting on page 16 look good. I'll prob be back and forth on you.
In post 402, Svenskt Stål wrote:People that should be pressured in my mind are Jebus, AA, GOAT and GCBC. What do you think of those four?
Jebus needs to put something up. His lack of content isn't scummy on it's own as I've known it to be a playstyle thing with Jebus, but because of that, I think he's an acceptable lynch on D1. AA just came back from v/la I think? I don't see anything scummy from those two as of page 16. Marangal isn't playing any differently than she was in the flavorless game. Goat is in the same boat as Jebus as far as D1 lynches go. I feel we're coming up to a point where pressure gets thrown out the window and we just take them out. Keeping talkers around is healthier for the game. I've lost to two lurkerscum recently in The Wire - absta was scum there too. I'm surprised he's Good Cop. He tunneled a townie D1, said fuck maybe 200 times(?), posted at a moderate pace but his tone was very aggressively, then finally flipped scum N1.

I am more satisfied with AA's posts than I am Jebus & Goat's. GCBC is mildly aggressive here but I still find their responses/actions to others as anti-town. As explained by my partner, anti-town =/= scum all the time. In this case, I would still vote GCBC.
In post 428, Svenskt Stål wrote:Knives are for pussies.

Deadline in 5 days. I like the Krab vote more than ever. His switch to GCBC has already been poked at by others, and I do feel like easing off GCBC for now. The ferret wagon is not something I feel strongly about. Jebus would just be a guy to get out the way early, but we have legit reasons to call other players scum. Skull's been looking town, same with Raven lately. Strange..I have no comment on monkey. That might be bad.

Who
were
you talking to, then? The only players who moved their votes to you after GCBC's reaction test were Desperado and GCBC himself. GCBC provided a perfectly reasonable explanation for why he voted for you here and Desperado had already expressed his suspicions of you before moving his vote to you. So which one of them voted for you solely because of the reaction test (as you are asserting here)?
In post 604, Krab Bucket wrote:Also, I see that "reaction test" as an easy way out of GCBC, and by god, I honestly found it very scummy.
You want to talk about easy ways out? Let's revisit this, shall we?

I need an answer to this:

This..."trap" of yours has one glaring flaw: it can catch both Town and Scum indiscriminately. How do you intend to tell the difference between the players who have fallen for your masterful mental machinations?
Don't think that it's a rhetorical question just because I worded it in a joking manner. I want to know the full extent of this "trap" you had planned.
Your continued refusal to explain this puerile plan of yours indicates that you never came up with such a plan in the first place. You purport that you're deliberately making yourself an easy target so that you can preemptively justify any scummy behavior that you exhibit in the future -- like the kind you're exhibiting right now, in fact. This "plan" is just a bogus smokescreen that you can use to weasel your way out of any suspicion that happens to befall you.
In post 606, Krab Bucket wrote:why are you in defence overdrive (you have no reason to be).
Looks like you're the one in defense overdrive, chief. This is the first time all game we've seen you get so riled up over a bit of suspicion. Guilty conscience, perhaps? You know you messed up, so now you're flailing about to try to muddy the waters and make your biggest accuser (Desperado) seem scummy instead. That's what it looks like to me.
In post 607, Krab Bucket wrote:I'm going to guess that the other mafia is probably 3 Man Band (Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal) or some random heels in WWE as a team (Jack Swagger, Ziggler, CM Punk etc)
All the multiball speculation up to this point has been just that -- speculation. However, this post makes it sound like you already know that the game is multiball. Why is that?

Yeah, we're lynching this chowderhead today.

Oh, no. Just early day one tomfoolery, that's all.

There's something that has been bothering me about Fuzzyman. I wanted to chat about it some more before bringing it up, but now the rascal has gone VLA and I don't feel like waiting any longer.

Self-voting is anti-town and a little scummy.
In post 371, Fuzzyman wrote:You're pretty determined to avoid explaining how your actions have been pro-town, eh? Skull, when you self-vote, you are either scum or you are voting for someone you know to be town, which is nearly as bad as being scum. You claim that you did it to "create discussion", but what that really means is that you created something for people to call you out on, so that you could lash back at them, painting them as scummy for questioning you. Not good play at all.
Fuzzyman thinks I'm Scum because I self-voted at the beginning of the game. According to him, I shouldn't have done that since I'm putting a Town player (myself) in danger, which is "nearly as bad as being Scum."

Putting yourself in danger as Town is scummy? Then why hasn't he said
anything
about Krab Bucket's alleged plan to make himself an easy target and attract suspicion? According to Fuzzyman's logic, Krab Bucket and I are doing essentially the same thing -- putting ourselves in danger. When I do it, I'm scummy and I deserve his vote. When Krab Bucket does it, it gets completely ignored. Now isn't
that
peculiar.

Well, this hydra sucked major ass because my partner never bothered to fucking post once. Not going to bother trying to waste my effort countering some inevitable lynch. Can't be fucked getting into any debate, because people are just going to be stubborn and adamant.
Might as well claim soon.
