@ Cheery, the Issue i have is the low amount of Town PR's that you'll find (outside of role madness that is )

Thinking of running a large theme based on Xenoblade Chronicles for Nintendo Wii
Anyone familiar with the source material besides me? I've kinda already got a setup in mind I just want to know if I should bother to go further or not.beefycheese- Does Bo Know

When I can mod themed games, I call dibs on Cyanide and Happiness, the webcomics. There are enough recurring characters to make a setup, and I can use comics for the lulz in the game thread and role PMs.
Would anyone be interested, and would they rather have it be a Mini or Large Theme? I feel like I can pull off both, but of course, Large Theme will take much more experience.Town: 11-12; Scum: 10-4; Third-party 1-0- Messiah

Or I want to run a Xenogears (PS1 game, same(ish) developer) Large Theme. I've got decent setups for both. I haven't decided which, but the lack of response to the first doesn't leave me optimistic for that.In post 3851, borkjerfkin wrote:Thinking of running a large theme based on Xenoblade Chronicles for Nintendo Wii

When I meet the requirement to mod mini theme, I'm thinking of modding a touhou-themed one.
It won't happen soon (I just freshly /in'd to mod today ), but would anyone be interested when I mod one?Show"I used to think you had this elegant-trolly, minimalist playstyle. Then I realized the playstyle is ~Lazy~

Once I've modded a Mini Normal (hopefully soon), I'm looking to mod a few games in the Micro and Mini Theme queues.
From my f2f days, I still have a bunch of setups with flavour I'd like to run. Here are some themes I'd be interested in running in an amended form suitable for forum play, mostly TV/gaming related, which I haven't seen around recently:
- Arrested Development (could definitely be a series of games, with a new one once the Netflix ones come out)
- Assassin's Creed 1+2
- Boston Legal
- Chuck
- Community
- Firefly
- NCIS
- Okami
- Portal
- True Blood
- XKCD
- Zelda - Majora's Mask
I also have a bunch of stuff based on individual books and plays, from Shakespeare and Chaucer to Dickens and Stoker, if there'd be any sort of interest in that (yes, we were a nerdy bunch...). Finally, I've done something akin to a book club/Mafia game, where a book is chosen that no one has read, and a reread is (cleverly) coordinated by the mod with in-game action. That stuff takes some effort to run, as well as commitment from everyone involved, but I've had some very positive feedback the few times I have run it.Wandering but not lost- Maestro

- Firefly - I definitely think I've seen one of these on-site before, but I'd have to dig - again, knowing the (expansive) fanbase it's likely but not 100%
- NCIS - same as AC 1+2
- Okami - if you do this, have fun with a special mechanic or two, the game certainly lends itself to them, IMO. also, should have Werewolves, just sayin'
- Portal - same as Firefly
- XKCD - ohdearGodyesplease
I'm listeningSome of these are rather gimmicky, some are fairly normal setups with flavour, and some havewell-refined non-standard mechanisms.
you had me at "Shakespeare" - very interested in reviewing/coModding a Mafia "translation" of a Bard classicI also have a bunch of stuff based on individual books and plays, from Shakespeareand Chaucer to Dickens and Stoker, if there'd be any sort of interest in that (yes, we were a nerdy bunch...).
this sounds like it would be awesome, but MIGHT need to be run as some kind of special game - and yeah, big commitmentFinally, I've done something akin to a book club/Mafia game, where a book is chosen that no one has read, and a reread is (cleverly) coordinated by the mod with in-game action. Well, my definition of 'not recently' is fairly liberal. If I haven't seen it run or mentioned in my time here, I mentioned it. I'm still months away from getting close to modding a themed game, but I thought I'd test the waters.
The Okami one is lots of fun. I wasn't sure if it's popular around here, but that one does have some funky mechanisms (think: ink wells & health points - might have to redesign away from a hurt/heal mechanism depending on how people feel about that).
The Majora's Mask one is probably my favorite. If you've played the game, I'm sure you can vaguely imagine what the mechanism looks like.Wandering but not lost- serrapaladin

As to Shakespeare, Measure for Measure lends itself quite well to Mafia "translation", as does Othello. I've run both of those, as well as Much Ado, but for each I just used a fairly standard setup and whacked some flavour on top. If I'm going to run one of those in a Theme queue, I'll revamp it and add some fun stuff.Wandering but not lost- Maestro

I have run a couple of cyberpunk SF themed games elsewhere and would like to run some small games in that genre, Particularly Bester's Demolished Man and The Stars My Destination.Amid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.

Ooh, I love me some classic cyberpunk. I've already done Dune and some stuff by Asimov, but Bester would be pretty cool.In post 3864, fferyllt wrote:I have run a couple of cyberpunk SF themed games elsewhere and would like to run some small games in that genre, Particularly Bester's Demolished Man and The Stars My Destination.

Re RPG I did a game once that was based on forum personas. There was a side game for players and spectators to guess which forum personality each player was channeling. It became an insanely complicated game.Amid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.
