I understand that Amrun. What I don't understand is why you substituted the word red in place of mafia or the more common catch all; scum.
Because they're synonyms? I'm hardly the first or last person to do so. I've done it before and I'll do it again.
In post 799, Ghostlin wrote:Iecerint did hammer, btw, from my count. The unvotes came from the MM side of the house. Which, now in Twilight retrospect, MM seems a much better play later in the day than that slot did before. There's a lot of things that clanged, not only L-3; but proposing lynches that wouldn't fly near deadline, particularly after the skepticism that #737 shows.

It reads as scum sweating and doing anything not to be lynched rather than finding the most effective lynch for Town. I still like Beliscum for his entire play today, and if Milk flips scum, I might entertain the idea of a scum slip for the first time in my life.

If milkshake does flip scum, I don't know if I'd call it a scum slip as opposed to wifom, but it would certainly bear considering.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone say "this person will flip red" and use red in place of scum/mafia.
Of all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I have, though not super-often. It's mostly been people who also play mafia elsewhere.

Well that's a lovely thing to wake up to in the morning. I agree that Iecerint is scum. If only because otherwise my sense of justice would be left utterly unappeased.

I still want to talk about meta. Too bad I'm going to have to wait a long time until this game is over.

You're really in Beijing time, Orcinus? That's cool...

So yeah, don't know what to say. I'm town (duh) and at least we have a sure-fire scum lynch for tomorrow (Iecerint). Maybe Iecerint, Ms Marangal, and ThAdmiral are the scum team, although Nero Cain, MattP, Sword_Of_Omens, or even Amrun is also possible. Not sure, to be honest.

I kind of want to rant about "scumhunting" on this site but maybe I'll save it for the dead player's quick topic. I promise I'll keep it civil. Going back to sleep now...

It had been a long and trying day. Fourteen individuals had awoken to find themselves wearing unfamiliar faces in an unfamiliar building. It seemed the Shadow must be at work here, trying to prevent them from accomplishing what they most needed to—preparations for the Last Battle. The Shadow was beginning to marshal its forces, and just when the Light needed them most, fourteen of the Light's best- leaders, powerful channelers, and those with small but significant parts to play- found themselves far from where they'd gone to sleep.

Even the channelers among the group could not puzzle out what had occurred- they did not seem to be wearing Masks of Mirrors, and no one could explain why the walls of the nondescript structure seemed impervious to the One Power. As they explored the large building's long hallways, looking for an exit, suddenly a scream rang out. Thirteen guests ran to the source of the sound and found a crisp corpse, its plain face changed back to that of its true owner.

Rodel Ituralde, NPC, was belatedly killed Night Zero.

Then, just as suddenly, the body vanished. What under the Light was going on here? Some of the unwilling guests wondered. Finally the group concluded that some other Power must be at work here. And whatever had happened to one of their number, some among the group obviously understood what was going on and had some sort of plan to take advantage of it.

They made the only possible decision. Though it was unclear what the true consequences were for dying in this place, it was obvious the Shadow had something to gain by removing the forces of the Light. So they agreed to try to hunt down the evil within their party.

After hours upon hours of arguing, finally a decision was reached. Suspiciously, the main room of the place had acquired a gallows while no one was looking, and those present figured they might as well make use of it. Sadly, this first decision hadn't been a good one.

milkshake, Siuan Sanche, Town Channeler
, has been lynched Day 1.

It is now Night 1. Day actions may still be used for 24 hours from the time of this post ((expired on 2013-06-04 23:49:00)). Night ends 72 hours from the time of this post ((expired on 2013-06-06 23:49:00)).

After a long and unproductive day, the mostly-unwilling guests began to get tired. They had no way of knowing the time, but it was agreed that they should adjourn for some time in order to recuperate their psychoanalytic abilities.

Eventually, they began to wake up. One grisly spectacle was quite obvious. The charred body of MattP lay in the center of the main room where they'd all been sleeping, leaving them to wonder how any of them had managed to sleep through the burning. The body lasted just long enough for everyone to get a look at its face before vanishing.

The other death was not quite so obvious. There were simply only ten guests. Ghostlin was just missing. She hadn't slept in the main room, and no one knew where to look for her. Just as the group began to give up hope, Ghostlin's voice- her real voice- echoed throughout the chamber. "I'm...sorry..."

No more needed to be said. Two more of their friends had been taken. It was time to dispense justice, whatever it counted for here.

MattP, Birgitte Silverbow, Town Vanilla
, has been killed Night 1.
Ghostlin, Aviendha, Town Channeler Dreamwalker
, has vanished Night 1.

It is now Day Two. With 10 alive, it takes 6 to lynch.

The deadline for Day 2 will be two weeks from this post (June 20th, 11:59 PM, to avoid confusion).

Ok I might as well claim now - I am essentially a commuter, and I know that someone tried to target me last night and failed. Was hoping to draw a nightkill but scum maybe thought I was too likely to be lynched at some point and didn't want to waste their shot.

Haven't looked at how the flips affect my reads, so I guess I'll go do that.

@ThAd, that's convenient...
setting it up in your first post of the day, even...
let me guess...MsM doc'd you, right? Of course she did...

What i want to know is why you felt the need to share that part of it considering there were 2 kills last night?
why not just leave it at "i'm a commuter and i tried to draw the NK?" There's no real reason to bring up that last bit..especially with your first post...you know people are going to ask how you know you were targetted...
So why claim now?

Also..i was trying to make sense out of the NK’s…

Matt was pretty much non-existent on D1…his death doesn’t really make sense as a scum or SK kill…more of a vig, I would think…however, there is his death flavor..the only person I can think of that burned things was Ishamael (the most powerful of the Forsaken)..he liked to appear with his eyes and mouth looking like a furnace of flames…he was killed, but brought back by the Dark One as Morridin…so most likely it was a maf kill…The only people Matt showed interest in lynching were Selkies, me, and Milkshake, and it also looks like he might have had doubts about Amrun…
So there could possibly be something in there…

Ghost’s kill flavor looks to be Balefire…a power that erases a being from the very fabric of time itself, leaving nothing at all.. Not even The Dark One could bring anyone back from a Balefire Death..only a handful of people even dare use it…some are good and some are bad..If it was an SK, then it might have been Mazrim Taim (the M’Hael) as he used Balefire.

gonna re-read a few things...and come back..

It couldn't be balefire, balefire kills people back in time and the flavour has a disembodied voice speaking
after
the death.

I suspect Ghostlin died of the mysterious dangers of Tel'aran'rhiod.

could be you're right...
although i thought maybe it was the echo of her last words that they heard seeing as she simply "vanished"...
depending on how much Balefire is used, there might not be a reversing..and it was just an ending..
also The dreamworld normally leaves "bodies" in the real world once they are killed...

There's only one Dragon in the series and he's human.

So, that was a complete accident. I had thought that SoO had been voting milkshake and had just unvoted her in #774, but he had been voting MsMarangal. I was in a little bit of a rush because Amrun was making crab soup things downstairs at Balto and people had told me like 3 times that I needed to get downstairs before I missed it, but I knew that deadline was super-soon. :?

I think milkshake was the proper lynch on the basis of the claims, anyway, though. The outrage at a hammer with like 5 hours to deadline was a little hyperbolic.

As far as stuff today goes:

I think SoO, Selkies, and Demon are probably town. I don't have as much of a read on players I didn't directly interact with much yesterday because my Balto activity was pretty limited to ctrl+f iec-ing every other day or so.

I remember Ghostlin getting scrutiny for reasons that didn't make much sense to me, so that's probably what I'll look over when I get a moment. IIRC one of the main drivers of that was milkshake, though, sooooo ye know.
