On a cold, sunny day, in the mountains of Japan there was a small serene village. In this village, there was a puppy training class where all the puppy owners joined forces to attempt to train their puppies. Usually, this all goes according to plan eith no mishaps, however today is different. Today, all the owners mysteriously vanished. Upon searching the training camp, you (the puppies) discover their dead bodies - they were mauled to death by an untrained puppy.
Near the bodies, you find a message in the snow written in urine:
We are mafia puppies on a secret mission to tear this little mountain village apart. However, we are not callous, we are giving you a chance to survive. In order to do this you must play a little game...
They were foolish enough to sign their names, which you are unfortunately unable to read because it takes a lot of effort to write correctly with your pee.

Haylen's Rules (Cross referenced with Incognito and Vi's rules to makes sure she got everything.)
During the Day...
1.
The game is a Day Start.
2.
You must bold your votes as such
Vote: Battle Mage
, please put the unvote where I can see it though, at the bottom of the post preferably. Unvoting makes me happy, but isn't completely necessary.
3.
Each Day will have a deadline of 2 weeks, not reaching a majority of votes during that time will result in a no lynch. I may extend the deadline in special circumstances. Don't lurk. Lurking makes me sad
4.
Mafia may not speak to each other during the day, lest you be smited.
5.
You may not quote your role PM's or any other communication outside thread, with the mod. Lest you be smited.
6.
I don't like cheaters.
(a)
Anybody who is found to be using invisible text, spoiler tags, encryption or anything as such will be smited unless they have an extremely good reason. Not knowing is not a good reason.
(b)
If you have the power to edit yours or anyone elses posts. Dont. Lest you be smited.
7a.
If you do not post within 72 hrs, you will receive a prod. Failure to response to the prod within 72 hrs will result in an automatic replacement. Three prods with result in an automatic replacement aswell.
b.
All mod communication should be opened as they are likely to contain important information about the game. This is to prevent mistakes with prods ect.
c.
If the third real life day after a prod is sent occurs during the night, then players are required to reply to their prod via PM. This is so that if a replacement is needed one can be found ASAP.
8. I require all players to PM me during the night so I know you're still here.
During Twilight...
1.
Votes and unvotes will not be counted after a lynch.
2.
The person lynched may still talk during Twilight.
3.
Mafia still can't talk during this time.
During the Night Phase...
1.
The Night Phase will last 72 hrs. I like this number. Any actions that have not been received by then will be forgone. (Night may end early if all actions are received)
2.
If your role permits it, you may talk to the players I have given you permission to talk to during the night.
3.
Mafia, whoever sends in the kill, don't try and kill your partners, I will not be messed with.
4.
Don't try and impersonate the mafia by sending me fake action PM's, I will not appreciate it, and you will be smited.
General Rules...
1.
I will not accept insulting behaviour in my games, anybody doing so will receive a nice, well worded warning from me in thread. Further breaking of the rule will receive a harsher punishment.
2.
Blue is my colour. Dont use any kind of blue in your posts, I will count it as impersonating the mod and you will be smited. Sometimes I like to edit your posts, if I do I'll use my colour.
3.
Never talk to anybody outside the game except if your role permits it, and I have told you you can talk now.
4.
Don't piss off the mod. You will be smited.
5.
If you think you have found a loophole with my rules, you haven't. I will recognise a loophole breakage and punish you accordingly.
6.
Smitings (AKA) 'Modkills', means I kill you immediately (for breaking the rules) and change your role to Neutral Survivor, meaning you auto-lose. Smitings (AKA) 'Modkills' automatically end the day. Period.
7.
Play to win, just like everyone else. Don't get disheartened if you're lynched or attacked, basically don't take anything personally. If you feel somebodies behaviour has been inappropriate PM me about it and I will deal with it in some form or another.
8.
Thy mod is thy goddess...however, I may make a mistake, if I do; PM me about it and I'll deal with it in some form or another.
9.
If you need help PM me...or AIM me, I'm always online (except when I'm sleeping, or in a lecture.)
10.
The mod is afraid of ghosts, don't post when you're dead, you will scare her. Leave it to end game discussion...
11.
Treat this game as a commitment, and be courteous to your fellow players. It will make everybody, including your mod happy.
12.
It is my prerogative to change the rules if I deem it necessary, you shall receive a notification in thread and a PM aswell to notify you of these changes.
13.
I like receiving PM's, if anybody fancies PMing me for a chat or rant go for it. I can't talk about game specifics though, obv obv.
You may also find useful information on theory ect on the MafiaScum Wiki.
Mafia is a game of honor. Cheating is breaking the honor code you committed to when you joined this site.
And lastly...have fun!

You have been given a setup that incorporates either one row or one column. The remaining six roles will be filled in by mafia goons and vanilla townies appropriately, in order for you to have a 2 mafia, 7 town setup. For example Row 1 would create a setup of 1 jailkeeper, 6 vanilla townies, and 2 mafia goons.
All role PMs are now out. Please confirm by stating your role back to me in a PM.
In addition, you may have noticed you were assigned "Haylen" as a moderator. This is still she. I've had a few issues with my main account but have been given permission to mod under this one.
Starstorm replaces Afezeria affective as soon as he confirmed his role. As there is only one player unconfirmed, I think we should get this show on the road!
Hi, y'all. My name is Voodoo Lady and I will be one of your SEs this game. :0)
I'm not quite used to this newbie setup-- Matrix 6 was only implemented in the newbie games about a month ago. I think this set-up is new for all of us, so that'll probably be some sort of equalizer.
Anyway, the word starstorm reminds me of Earthbound, in which PK Starstorm was a maneuver learned by the character Poo, whose name is synonymous with "scum". Ergo, Starstorm is scum. :0)
Alright, so:
I am TheIrishPope! You may call me Irish, Pope, TIP, or by any new nickname, that's fine!
I'm one of your SEs alongside Voodoo Lady and MP5. We know things. However, startransmission, our IC, knows the most. For questions regarding acronyms and terms and whatnot, all four of us can technically answer, but the IC is your best bet.
Voodoo ninja'd me with the beginning of the Random Voting Stage (RVS), where we vote people for silly reasons. Go ahead and vote!
If you want to see my completed games to understand how I play with both Town and scum and third parties, check my sig below
Aaaand that's pretty much it.
And I know waynegg is scum. Eww. VOTE: waynegg
Hi all, I am Miszu, a Mafia virgin, this is my 1st game ever, please be gentle!
I think I have the gist of how things are done/terminology by reading a few completed games/following a couple of current games, please bare with me if I don't completely understand everything right away.
My RVS is going to be MP5 as his name is the most menacing! VOTE: MP5
Alright. I will point out various errors in waynegg's #10 post:
1. I always introduce myself as an SE in the manner I did. Check my wiki if you still don't believe me. It is not indicative of my alignment.
2. You have committed an OMGUS (oh my god, you suck) vote, which is voting for the person who voted you. You are a newb, and this is RVS, so I will let that slide.
3. Quotes mean nothing. If Stephen Hawking said there is a teapot inside your body, would you believe him?
4. RVS is very important for the following reasons:
I. Generally, scum vote for their partner in RVS to "distance" from them.
II. RVS starts all discussion.
III. RVS does not cause town lynches in D1.
5. Your percentage is made up.
Cool, a Mafia virgin. Welcome! Your IC and SEs are here to help you.
The poking at your flexing of muscles with the SE thing was saying why I put my silly RVS vote on you and meant to be taken with humor
About me- I'm far from a mafia virgin with 12 completed 20-43 person games on other sites and actively being involved in three more in carious places. I'm playing the newbie 9 person to fulfill the requirements here to move on, but am interested in how the format works having never played to this kind of setup.
Nice how you fit speaking in absolute and AtE into two sentences for a total of 7 words.
90% town lynch D1 is accurate, but it has nothing to do with RVS per se. It has everything to do with the uninformed minority not knowing everybody's alignment, and the necessity to facilitate a lynch because the town controls the day. RVS does little to nothing to improve on those odds so I ask why keep doing the same thing? You see, there was nothing wrong with my post.
So continue the RVS, or continue with the conversation that's already started?
Oh yeah. Know something else scum do besides AtE and absolutes? They defend a singular vote on themselves during RVS...
And my vote wasn't because you voted me. It's because of the absolute statement and the AtE (appeal to emotion). You could have voted anyone and I would have RVS'd you for that reason. The fact that you're defending against that singular vote is normally screwy. However, given this is a newbie game I can't weight that too heavily because you are also trying to explain how to play as you go
So now you defend yourself saying it was a joke. Yeah no. Not buying that.
And you call someone out for AtE when you put a silly quote? Oh come on, you're making this too easy for me.
90% town lynch is accurate? I'm supposed to take your word for it? lolwat
And you call me out for absolutes when you say "town controls the day." Explain this.
I explained why RVS is important.
Trying to cover up your OMGUS isn't helping your case.
And using sympathy to appease me. Hypocrite much?
If you check again, I never touched the issue of my vote. I pointed out holes in your post. So yeah.
Your move.
Town controls who dies/is voted off/ whatever you wanna call it during the day because they are the majority. The night phase is where scum do their work, hitting town and hoping to hit a PR (power role). In this set up town -might- have a one time vig to put their 2 cents into the night as well, but generally speaking scum controls the night.
No, i called you out for speaking in absolutes, AtE, and for defending a singular vote, so get it straight :/
No you don't have to take my word on the percentage, but I'll be happy to dig it up (not really; hate theory, but I will).
I know you explained why RVS is important, and I disagreed. Just look at us, we're conversing just fine without it and being much more productive than silly votes that mean nothing. Here, I would like to point out that your reluctance to leave RVS (even while conversing with me... odd) is a classic scum tell. I'll dig that one up for you as well.
OMGUS isn't a scum tell until you can put it into perspective and see where the person is coming from. I haven't denied OMGUS, so I really don't see where you are coming from with stating I'm trying to cover it up...
Pointing out holes you perceive in my post
IS
defending a singular vote against you. (you say tomato, i say it with the other pronunciation)
I don't see sympathy, just an acknowledgement that your duties here as an SE could be screwing up my perspective on you.
In post 16, waynegg wrote:Town controls who dies/is voted off/ whatever you wanna call it during the day because they are the majority.
WAT IS DIS
Yes, dig it up. If you're stating something, you need evidence. Oh, and isn't "hate" AtE? Herpaderp.
This conversation started because of RVS.
Pointing out holes is me scumhunting. Get it right.
Aaand covering up sympathy. And then saying "oh i might be wrong anyway"
The amount of contradictions from waynegg on a single page is overwhelming.
In post 12, TheIrishPope wrote:
I. Generally, scum vote for their partner in RVS to "distance" from them.
Do they really, though?
I mean, claiming you couldn't be someone's scumbuddy because you put an RVS vote on them is a scum tactic, but I don't think voting for your partner during RVS is a very substantive form of distancing.
In post 13, waynegg wrote:About me- I'm far from a mafia virgin with 12 completed 20-43 person games on other sites and actively being involved in three more in carious places. Games here tend to be significantly slower than on other mafia boards. There are other differences but that's by far the most relevant one.
90% town lynch D1 is accurate, but it has nothing to do with RVS per se. Assuming we just rolled a D9 and voted for whoever came up first, we'd have a 77% chance of nabbing someone town-aligned. So the odds are naturally against the town.
The town benefits from discussion because it gives them more information to work with, not to mention that scum are more likely to slip up the more they say. While taking the votes made during RVS seriously is a bad idea, RVS is important in that it starts discussions that lead to real scumhunting down the road.
Also, I'm not quite seeing an appeal to emotion in O'Popey's post.
Let me help you VL. "Eww!" Is a statement that automatically makes the reader think 'This is bad/disgusting/undesirable'. "Eww!"by its very nature evokes emotion, because most of us first learned that term as a toddler when sticking something in our mouth we just picked up off the floor, as our mom scolds us with it...
Since you basically corroborated what I was saying on the overwhelming percentage of hitting town D1, can I skip digging that one up?
Yup. Leaving work in 20 minutes. I'll dig tonight while watching adult swim. That should give time for others to get their footing a bit without being overwhelmed with t.m.i. all at once. I've see games where that made people replace out, and don't want to be the cause of that.
