Right now, he's appearing very scummy to me. And if/when he does flip, it happens to give town a load of info. We're not voting him for the info, it's just a bonus. We're voting him because he's scummy.

No one has presented any compelling justification for a zoidberg lynch besides "oh he said these things that only scum could confidently say".

But this would mean zoidberg has repeatedly forgotten that his faction has information that the town does not. What kind of fool do you take him for?

Zoidberg has identified for the town many instances of actually legitimately scummy behaviors, suggesting to me that he is not only town, but very protown. I'm still mildly surprised that the case on him is being taken seriously.

You guys are suggesting that zoidberg made a certain type of scumslip, was censured for it, and then made that exact same scumslip multiple times thereafter, being censured every time.

This is ridiculous, especially since no scumslip actually happened - what I see is you guys clearly mistaking overspeculative ideation for minority faction knowledge. If you want me to jump on your wagon, you have to explain why I should believe zoidberg's posts indicate evidence of the latter and not the former.

Right, I think my logic was Zed's first post fails to comment on largest forming wagon and instead tries to start up a counter wagon on a traditionally easy player to lynch under questionable logic.

zoid is still scum but don't use that as a false strike against him, it just gives him more ways to fight back.

Why worry about giving Zoidberg more ways to fight back? If he's Scum, we should be encouraging him to say as much as possible so we'll have more content to analyze.

I've seen folks say that if Zoidberg flips Scum, that will confirm the game as multiball. Well, he hasn't flipped yet. Either you're thinking of a three-person team because you already know that Zoidberg is telling the truth about that or you're just getting ahead of yourself. Which is it?

Or if there's a vig, TIP would be a primo target. He's the player scum keeps around because he's fucking awful and has no chance of actually finding scum.

I feel like TIP is just a newbie who's uncomfortable now that he's not in Road to Rome. Mostly I'm hoping someone vigs him, because his play has been atrocious but there are better lynches to be had IMHO.

Psyche, is this a program in your mind or some sort of computer? I don't really know what you're on about here.

ooh i'm really excited about this so lemme explain

I currently have stored on my computer the archives of about 300 threads of mini normals. These are all in the process of being processed such that every post is associated with an alliance, a Day, and all the other stuff that posts normally get associated with (username, time, etc.). I am using a program to do this at a pretty fast pace (it takes like 1-2 minutes per thread, excluding the parts where I change thread or take breaks).

Once this is finished, I'll be able to use another program to collect statistics on these threads - how correlated a certain pattern of words, post length, Day, etc. is with a given alliance or player. Using these statistics, I will have a relatively more sound epistemic basis on which to vote and advocate the lynches of players.

Once this basic system is perfected, I'll study more advanced statistics and learn how to predict whole scumteams after inputting the first, say, 20 pages of the game.

Since it'll be a long time until I get all of this done, right now I'm merely going to process enough threads to perform an im promptu study on how saying things like "I'm scum" correlates with alliance and use the results to inform my read on Varsoons.

This is a lot like my accusations of flailing study that I did in 2012, except my flailing study was done manually (i scrolled through many threads, recording on a notes app who said flailing and about whom) and was much less ambitious.

Zoidberg was asking deliberately obtuse questions that he already knew the answer to, and Tiphaine chose to discredit TIP over engaging him. You would expect townies to just let these things go?

And for all of quote mining you're apparently doing, you aren't even reading any of it. I did vote for Varsoon (in fact, I voted him before everything you're referencing here), and cogent arguments =/= persuasive arguments.

It's bizarre because you're not following up on your convictions that the arguments themselves have merit. That makes me think that your purpose was more to praise TIP himself (and why would town do that? I don't have a reason)
