I have this thing that I do as town, but really as any alignment. I don't like to say I'm town either directly or indirectly and I try to word stuff in such a way that it would be true regardless of my alignment. "We" instead of "town" slips through in simple sentences and short posts sometimes.

It's like an anti-towntell, a repudiation of the easy "we". I talk about town-me, scum-me as a hypothetical and try to leave the perception of reality entirely in the eyes of other players - based on my behaviors, not on whether I talk about "us townies".

When I read Shadi's post, that's what I saw - a carefully worded post that intentionally left open the possibility of a scum game in progress. And I could see myself writing something similar.
