GAME 1 - MINI THEME - DEWEY DECIMAL MAFIA

10-player closed theme.

Ah, the public library. A delightful place to browse, read, and check out thousands of books, all for free!

I came here to borrow a book on Mafia Theory, by one Albert B. Rampage. I looked on the shelf but it wasn't there. I asked the librarian, and she said that all copies of the book were checked out over a year ago! They're incredibly overdue!

I asked if she could follow up with whoever checked it out, but she sighed. (Quietly, of course. It

is

a library.) It seems that a few months back there was a tiger attack and they ate all records of overdue books. The best she could do was determine a group of people, some of which were the ones who checked it out. And by sheer coincidence, they're all in the library right now!

YOU could be one of the ones who owes a small fortune in overdue fines. If it's not you, it's one of these 9 other people. Figure it out, so I can get a-reading!

Based on an idea which came out of the Worst Roles Thread. Each player gets an internet meme and a role based around it. At least one role has an annoying post restriction; don't sign up if you don't want to risk getting one. There's at least one unusual mechanic in play. Because of the complicated nature of this game, I will deny entry to anyone who does not have at least one completed non-Micro theme game with substantial experience on this site. By "substantial" experience I don't mean you played in one and got lynched on D1. I think you'll need some real theme experience.

SpyParty Mafia

is a 13-player mini-theme game using advanced mechanics in which the partygoers are not only watching their backs against a team of brutish mafia, but also watching out for the deadly sniper lurking outside the party, waiting for his moment to take his shot and kill the secret Spy among their midst. The town not only want to find the mafia, but they want to protect the identity of their Spy, whose various missions and objectives can only spell good news for the group... should the Spy succeed...

Spoiler: Game Mechanics

Special Mechanics:

1) There are

three special roles

in the game.

Sniper

: Disguised as a partygoer with a remote controlled sniper watching the party, this person has one third-party objective... discover the Spy and kill them. At night, the Sniper will be able to watch one of the game zones for any sign of the Spy trying to complete objectives. People who are in the watched location will see the Sniper's scope. The Sniper has a one-shot strongman dayvig that he may use... and that one shot will determin whether he wins, or loses. The Sniper also has special information and knows that one of two people is the Double Agent. Double Agent may be town or mafia-aligned.

Spy

: This seemingly innocuous person is town-aligned. They have six potential objectives to achieve, and each time they achieve one of their objectives, a new power will be given out to the town. They may not be the only power role at gamestart. The six potential objectives are described below:

- Bug Ambassador: You must move to the location of the Ambassador, then during the night phase, place a bug on the Ambassador.

Hard tell.

- Contact Double Agent: You must move to the same conversation circle as the Double Agent, then during the night phase, contact the Double Agent. Everyone will hear the words "Banana Bread".

Hard tell.

- Swap Statue: You must move to the statues, then during the night phase, swap one of the statues.

Hard tell.

- Inspect Statues: You must move to the statues, then during the night phase, inspect a statue. You must do this two times to complete the objective.

No tell.

- Seduce Target: You must move to the location of the seduction target, then during the night phase, try to seduce them. You must do this three times to complete the objective.

No tell.

- Transfer Microfilm: You must move to either the blue or green bookshelf. Then, during the night phase, you may remove the microfilm from the book and place it back on the shelf. You must then, in a different night phase, go to the other bookshelf and place the microfilm in a book there.

Hard tell.

Hard tells are ones that the Spy can spot, while no tells are ones he won't.

Ambassador

: This presitigious windbag is Ether van Trawn, and he is a special ambassador. He is not targetable, nor is he a player in the game. He is a mod-controlled NPC, and because of his hoity-toityship, he will move before the rest of you during the movement phase. He is only there to serve the purpose of being a target for the Spy's objective.


2) There is a

special phase

in between day and night phase, called the

movement phase

. During this phase, I will announce where the Ambassador has gone, and the rest of you will privately submit to me the location you'd like to move to for the night. Each person MUST submit a location during this phase, or they will be randomized. After this phase is complete, I will post a list of where each person has ended up, and the night phase will begin. You may move to any of the following locations:

Bang! Mafia

Bang! Mafia is a Mini Theme based on the card game Bang!

It will be a closed Game with some different mechanics.

During the day you lynch to try and get rid of the outlaws and renegades

But at night something different happens, even VT's will get powers as you will draw cards from the Bang! deck (not the official one) and each card will have different powers.

Not only that, but on each night, a suit will be randomly choosen and any card out of that suit that is played will have different (not always good) effects.

Day 1 lynches happen almost every game, what have these poor roles done to deserve that? It's time we game them a second chance at being useful for their alignment rather than sitting back and having to watch the game go on around them.* Sadly one of them will probably do so again, but should the game run again, that role may get into the game again.**
Game has the possibility of containing jesters, cults and other third party roles***, however I there will be no other form of bastardery as modnotes will be provided with roles.
Due to the need of some balance between the alignments, the following will be ensured when I'm drawing the roles from my spreadsheet.

• There will be a maximum of 4 Anti-town roles included in the game. (if all mafia they may be split up depending on information about where they're from and alignment names)
  
• There will be a minimum of 2 Mafia aligned roles chosen
  
• There will be 0-1 Third Parties included.
  
• Town will contain at least 2 non-VT roles.

*This statement is invalid for games where the day 1 lynch ended the game, but they may to work in proudness of that and hope they can do it again.
**A role has already gained the privileged of being able to be drawn twice this game.
