I've been having a lot of success recently playing Elurgot (Elise-Urgot) lanes bot.
It's kinda weird because my duo buddy (same rank as me) and I were treading water a bit but now suddenly gold seems inevitable.
Elise support is fun because I usually end up with one of the highest gold totals on the team just from GP10, some kills, and farming stuff nobody else was going to take / stealing enemy jungle while warding.
You can solo much more stuff (dragons, camps, enemy champions, towers) as Elise than as most supports. Also elise ganks very effectively for other lanes with stun, gap-closer and damage. When I'm not needed in lane I feel like an extra jungler.
Urgot manages to be tanky while dealing huge amounts of damage from long range. I've watched my friend wander up to 3 enemies, get a double kill, and get away in otherwise even games. I don't see how Urgot isn't played more.
In lane we basically poke a lot and kill anyone I land a stun on. My spider e-q / his lock on gives us the reach to kill people who get low. I start mana manipulator so we can spam our pokes more. We don't die much because I have stun and jump while he's tanky. I can zone people super hard because I have stun-q-w and can spider-E back to the creep wave after.
In other news, quicksilver sash is really good against fizz / liss / sejuani team.
Also I think supports should be warding their team's red buff more; it's so common (at least at my level) for the enemy jungler to try and steal it that I feel like I'm spending 75 gold for a 40% chance at free first blood.- Bub Bidderskins

Elise support is sweet. Only problem is that you are a little less relevant late game because you are basically like a jungle/lane elise with no money. But if you're playing it in a lane with Urgot, then late game really isn't an option.ShowTotal: 16/15/1

more supports should learn how vision works and more importantly what key chokes/entrances are intelligent wards, and catch people going in (for example, if you ward around your own wraith ramp, its likely you'll catch that red steal earlier since a missing ward on a support in bot lane tends to lead to an assumption that bot is warded, thus the jungler is more likely to enter through wraith ramp with the thought that the mid solo has not warded)Llamarble wrote:In other news, quicksilver sash is really good against fizz / liss / sejuani team.

Maybe in plat. I don't think lower elo junglers will notice the support is missing a ward.In post 22181, JDodge wrote:im 10-1 with nami in the past month

I did mean the approaches to red moreso than red itself heh.
It doesn't feel that way. Between GP10 (4 from runes, 2 from masteries, 9 from items) and kills / some farming, my income stays comparable to what our laners are getting (often more than the ones who lose), and lategame we have 5 properly fed members to the other team's 4. Maybe at higher levels teams are better at leaving nothing unfarmed / dying less and there isn't room for a support to collect a full income, but so far in silver III that doesn't seem to be the case.In post 22180, Bub Bidderskins wrote: Only problem is that you are a little less relevant late game because you are basically like a jungle/lane elise with no money. Also I don't believe in Urgot's lategame weakness, at least at my level . He deals lots of damage from good range, is decently tanky, and has a super useful ult. This may have something to do with my friend being good at landing his stuff or people not dodging well, but it has been working.
As jungler I usually just start at the enemy red. Nobody bothers to guard for some reason (and if they do I just run away and start my blue).- Bub Bidderskins

That's probably because you're winning your lane very hard. A "standard" carry with equal farm would out damage urgot, and a support with more CC would have a greater late-game impact. The key term there is "equal farm". If you exit a Elise/Urgot lane with equal farm, then you lost the lane. You NEED kills, and since you are coordinated in a duo queue in silver III, it isn't hard to get them.
My experience with support elise is that if you can use her early damage to stomp a lane she's great, but if you can't I feel less useful, but I've never tried it in a ranked game or with a duo partner (and I'm also Silver) so take whatever I say with a grain of salt. Regardless, it's a really cool lane and when it works it's awesome.ShowTotal: 16/15/1
