In other news, JD's rune page for sona that I am using has improved my sona power by 75%.

having trouble figuring out who to get next. I have it narrowed down to:

- Kha'Zix: Everyone has said he's OP for awhile, though apparently he got some changes recently, I'm not sure if they made him better or worse or what.

- Jayce: Been playing him on free week... his poke is excellent, but I'm not sure when I'd get a chance to play him, and I don't like the fact he has no CC.

- Vladimir: I played him last free week and was shocked by how powerful he felt.

- Viktor/Malzahar: I'm severely lacking in mids, and a cursory look at LoLKing shows that these two have decent winrates with abysmally low ban rates, meaning either of these could be the "freeroll wins in ranked because nobody knows how to deal with him" champion.

- Nami/Leona: For those instances where I end up supporting and don't play Sona or Janna or Thresh. I am not super keen on Leona, just because if I support, I don't like being overly aggressive.

Malz is awesome fun but gets shit on by diana, who I've seen a fair amount in silver.

Leona can be a pretty decent steamroll aggressive support, since thresh is usually banned. Provides you some power if they pick sona (since, imo, sona does well against janna). I played her a fair bit in lower silver to just demolishcrushdestroykillburn everything, but it stopped working out so well in s2 (was hit and miss in s3).

I'm not a fan of kz/jayce personally.

Nami is pretty good. Viktor seems to be a high skillcap champ, where he has a high winrate because only people who are totally baller at him ever play him.

What are the weaknesses of Urgot in a solo lane? Is that role just filled by more effective champions? You have range and the ability to be a great lane bully; your typical build is bruiser with some OK damage at different power spikes for you, and you have a disable. Hm, I guess Kennen is better at nearly everything here.

BTW, I love the Ezreal mid that has become so popular during Champions.

I'm finding I care far less about playing LoL than I do about studying the game as a professional esport.

I'm right there with you. I enjoy watching the EU and NA lcs more then I have been playing the game and learning the mechanics of all the champs. Also had friends ask me to stream and commentate on their games.

I am so happy with ranked right now. Silver 1 yeeeeeeeey.

I hit S1 this weekend (a day before I would have been marked inactive). I've also enjoyed my ranked experience, which has so far consisted of B1 -> win seven games -> S5 -> win five games -> S3 -> win five games -> S1. I've found that ranked games become much easier to win when I'm playing with my clamped bronze rl friend.

If you like melee fighter-y characters, Kha and Jayce are superfun. I picked up Kha and played him post-changes (mostly on Dominion) and he's fun.

Never played Viktor, suck at Vlad, Malz is okay.

Nami is probably better than Leona if you dislike being the aggressive support.

Nami's an excellent support. I believe she's still permabanned in korealand.

her kit is amazing when it comes to supporting

3/4 skills are cc and the one that isn't cc is a heal

she has decent base damage on q/w/e/r and her manapool isn't horribad

Also, Nami's Q is visually odd an interacts strangely with tenacity. The knockup/float part is actually a stun that can be reduced with tenacity, but the falling down part cannot be reduced.

i'm now tracking onm average gold distribution and kill participation percentage in the hopes that the numerical tea leaves at the bottom of the cup will act as some sort of rosetta stone into how we win and how we lose

In a game with dozens of variables and hundreds of thousands of possibilities right out of champ select, I don't think 8 data points will give you anything statistically significant.
