Instead of "werewolf" the more generic "scum" would have been appropriate.

Because I know the kind of things people read as scummy, and I think there are mitigating factors. And clearly you weren't reading if you think only Meow had that to say.

to interpret it that way, and that choice is what's weird.
And another thing that's scummy in that is that you thought about how you will appear in each case - which isn't what town would typically think. If you went through the thought process of "if I answer this I will seem scummy, if I do this I'll still seem scummy", you're most likely scum.
