While the bolded is true, I don't think you can apply this to VT here. I mean, it actually seems as if he doesn't care, no?

Mafia will attack every piece of everything put against them by townies. They'll attack the logic because if they can best the person who's suspicious of them on the field of logic then their ego is secure. It was just a fluke, they'll tell themselves. Townies, on the other hand, attack merely the idea, as VT seems to have done here. Their ego is secured completely against any logic presented against them, and so they needn't bother themselves with it, just decry it.

And then VT's not bothered about any fos on himself by Marangal, just decrying the 'sense' of Ms Marangal's posts as a whole.

But then I'm going to have to retract my town-read on VT I'm afraid. He's actually a very viable partner of Ms Marangal who I'm just pretty fucking sure is mafia at this stage. Yeah, ASP gets a pass on being a robot. It's Marangal and VT.

Okay, I'll throw down something comprehensive.

First off, Mara is now AtE'ing me and I'm just pretty sure she's scum to be honest. Paying more attention to the AtE, however, she's pretty much reacting to my vote the exact same way I reacted to NS's vote earlier. Now this is problematic of course, as it might suggest she's town, but no, she's not town. If you'll pay closer attention to the rest of what she's said, it becomes quite evident that she's just playing up to my reads, eg., "I don't really care if he is suspicions of me because, why should I be?" I mean, that going along with the rest of what she said, that being, "Smoker is just throwing out logical fallacies," just doesn't make any sense at all - I'm committing logical fallacies yet completely on point? Come on... But then this is suggestive of something else: if she's playing up to my reads is it not possible also that she's playing up to my methods? Indeed it is, and then consider Mara's reacting to my vote on her the exact same way I reacted to NS's vote one me. Interesting, no? Her play, if a mafioso's play, is highly suggestive of NS being town. In fact, I'd go so far as to declare NS a confirmed townie upon Mara's rolling scum - which I have very little doubt will come to fruition at this stage to be honest.

And then further analysis of Mara's play is yielding further solid town-reads for me, too. Mara's being 'preeeeettty sure' RM is town is also actually highly suggestive of RM being town. The thing is, liars will always build their lies around (or hide their lies in) a nugget of truth, and so mafia are generally very much on point in the reads they throw out. It's one of the biggest failings of mafia to be honest, or if there's a townie in the game who's aware of this mode of lying anyway. And so Mara's reads are probably very on point for the most part. But then consider what came directly after Mara's reading RM as 'preeeety town,' that being, 'and he's wrong about VT.' She went from entirely informal (kinda) to brutally hard-hitting. In her 'town-reading' Mara she was all dressy and cheery, and then just in for the kill straight after with VT, and I'm just not too sure about that at the moment, but Mara is definitely scum and there's definitely something weird going on there. I mean, the change in demeanour could suggest only two things: 1) that this was what Mara's nugget of truth (RM's being town) was building up to, that VT is actually town; or 2) that Mara was still only in the process of building, that VT is scum with her and the change of demeanour is down to feeling uncomfortable about bussing her partner so early. And then, to be honest, I'm inclined towards the first option, but that leaves me in a bit of a predicament, that being, who the fuck else is mafia?!

But that's RM and NS firmly town-read on my part, and I won't be budging from that, so we're not too badly off. And then further argument as regards Mara's being scum, for you doubters out there, is that she's dressy. Mafia are dressy. Take Bill Clinton's 'I did not have sexual relations with that woman,' for example. I mean, why didn't he just say, 'I didn't have sex with her'? It's because he was lying and liars dress up their bullshit. And then Mara's the one who introduced elongated words into this game, if any of you will deign to take notice. "Elongated words?! What's the big deal there?!" Well, it's dressiness and dressiness is indication of bullshit. Why didn't Mara just say, 'I'm pretty sure RM is town'? It's because, like Bill Clinton, she's a liar. But then given that lies are built around nuggets of truth, there's a good town-read on RM. Mara's pretty sure RM is town because Mara is mafia. That's why the 'pretty sure' was dressed up.

And then who else is mafia? I'm actually thinking it's CE now. Mara's placing CE at pretty much the end of her list for lynching on page 1 was actually pretty suspicious (Mara being scum), and especially with the buffer of 'ASP and SSG just naturally ping for me.' I mean, what does that even mean? Seems to me she's trying to hide a partner in bullshit, and then that notion is built upon by CE's suggesting that I was getting ready to make a case on her just a few posts up on this page, though all the while town-reading everyone I'd town-read, which is suggestive of her just being scared of me as scum. And BOOM, I'm done. ggwp

So returning from my trip, Im impressed with Smoker's 147; I'm not sure i completely agree with it, but it shows he is definitely putting in effort and trying. I'm still of the impression that he might be scum, but it points out a few things I hadn't noticed about Ms M's style that is making me question the town read I had on her. He's keeping my vote for now, but its a coin flip between him and VT.

Other town reads I have right now include Rach and CityElectric- I'm not sure what, if anything, I'm missing that is giving CE a scum read to Ms M and VT, but it seems as such.

I'm getting a scum read from VT, mainly from 116 and 138, the latter of which I seriously don't like. You don't convince people of your innocence through saying it, but you show it through your play style and actions in the game thread, and if you have to say you're town (or that you're not mafia), you are probably lying.

NotScience gives me mixed feelings; I want to believe he is town, but in 129 he states he vote-jumps to try to get reads, and that has me curious. I'm also curious about Ms M, and it seems like Smoker is getting to her a bit even though she tries to act like he isn't. The second paragraph of 143 is confusing to me as well.

I'm having a hard time reading Proph and TNE with their minimal posting, but if I had to guess one of them is scum, I'd say Proph is the more likely case. Neither of them stand out particularly because they haven't been around enough to get very solid reads on them.
