There has been a challenge! The
Orange Iguanas
have challenged the
Purple Parrots
!
The pool of players eligible to be lynched today consists of:[/b]

AngryPidgeon
Venmar

Wisdom

Here are the current votes:

Venmar (4) -Wisdom, qwints, pirate mollie, AngryPidgeon
AngryPidgeon (0) -
Wisdom (0) -

Not Voting (3) - SeraphicMirth, Venmar, serrapaladin,

With 7 players alive, it will take 4 votes to lynch.

The remaining members of the expedition finally reached a chamber deep within the center of the Hidden Temple. Suddenly, the door behind them closed!

"We're trapped!" SeraphicMirth said.

"Well, some of us are," replied qwints.

A secret door opened, and qwints, pirate mollie, and AngryPidgeon quickly stepped through it and shut the door behind them.

"Don't give up yet!" Wisdom said. "There still might be a way out of here."

"I recognize this room," said serrapaladin. "All we need to do to unlock the door is to assemble the pieces of that statue in the correct order."

There was silence for five minutes.

"Yep, we're trapped." said SeraphicMirth.

The Temple Guards (Nobody Special, qwints, AngryPidgeon, and pirate mollie have successfully protected treasures ofthe Hidden Temple!

Congrats guys. mollie, you had me completely fooled. I guess I need to go back to listening to logic more, which said Majiffy wasn't scum. Sorry, Majiffy :(

I think the challenge thing made this more difficult than a standard nightless.

Thanks for modding, Haschel!

MOD THOUGHTS

Jesus Christ, this game.

I gather that a lot of people are glad for this game to be over. Truth be told, I understand the sentiment. The insane amount of activity near the beginning made it almost impossible to keep track of everything, and I want to give a HUGE thank you to all three of the replacements for putting up with that crazy amount of reading. Then as soon as Amrun got lynched, something in everybody's brain toggled and activity dropped to a glacial pace.

I like how the challenge mechanic worked out, although I did not expect the town to initiate every single challenge. At no point was there ever a scenario where only town could be lynched, so the scum deserve credit for arguing their way out of the occasional tight spot. AP in particular did an excellent job of not only deflecting his lynch but elevating himself to near the top of peoples' townlists. For the most part, though, I think this game was won less with good scumplay and more by poor townplay.

Here are the QuickTopics. I'm a little sad that they weren't used as often as I thought they would be, but I guess sometimes that's just how it goes.

As a Mod, I think you did fantastic. You were pretty quick with flips and VCs.

I dislike the setup a little (but rolling scum in a nightless is nervewracking so there you go :P)

Also I tend to dislike open setups since it takes away some of the fun of setup spec and fake claiming.

But this was open and I signed up for it knowingly : P

I cannot believe we pulled out of this. I feel like qwints was on the verge of getting lynched all game long and I was just constantly doing my best to defend it. And qwints stuck it out like a champ despite replacing into a slot everyone wanted to ylcn hfor his predecessor.

I'm starting to wonder how true the site-meta about balancing neighbours is.

I mean, I get that theoretically an excellent town neighbour, SHOULD be able to discern their neighbour's alignment through direct question, but I think I have yet to see that happen. Good scumhunters will be able to hone in on their target in thread almost as good as they could in a neighbourhood, so I don't really buy the idea that it "amplifies" a players abilities. If anything, I've mostly seen people catch flak for referring to their own QT instead of the thread.

I just modded a game featuring 2 neighbourhoods, a masonry, and a neighbouriser, and it was sort of the general consensus that the neighbourhoods did nothing to shift balance towards town. I do hold that they're a fun addition to games, so I'll certainly keep using them, but I doubt how much they really do for balance.

I fucking hated this game and it wasn't the mod's fault. The setup was cool, the flips were on time, and you did a great job.

Town sucked ass. Like I didn't even think that AP's real-life revelation was townie but then everyone reacted like he was conf town and God forbid I go against the grain everyone was so damn bloodthirsty and snappy.

I felt like if I ever changed my mind I would be crucified. Scum had such an overpowering influence in the game, and town played right into their hands, up until my lynch at least.

Grim was obvtown for his QT thing but I knew if I changed my mind I would be lynched anyway. Seraphic seemed town upon replace-in, and I don't even know how Majiffy was lynched over Mollie.

I had NS/AP/qwints pegged early on, and I think Mollie would have come over time, but still, scum did a good job.

Glad this is over with.

The modding was excellent. Flips and VC's were all accurate and on time.

I really think the best way to play the setup would be to pseudo-vote until a majority is reached, and only then challenge, which is a bit unfortunate. I don't see a reason to prematurely limit the lynch pool. The sets of neighbourhoods thing is cool, though.

sera I am sorry. :(

It sucked being scum as a neighbor with majiffy in a nightless game. I had no break.

but hai if you are going to pick a game to throw your meta go for the gold.

I think scum neighbors are very scum sided IMO, it happened in the last game I gmed where there was a scum neighborizer who wormed her way into everyone's confidence and pretty much led scum to a perfect win.

Mollie, it's your job as scum, so of course it's fine. :)

Why you weren't IMMEDIATELY lynched after my flip I'll never fucking know though. And then when Majiffy was lynched over you I was just blown the fuck away.

Props to qwintz for turning that slot around. Not that it made me not think you were scum but you certainly did the slot credit.

AP, you were so incredibly scummy day 1, but you managed to talk me out of it enough to back down for the moment and it was a good job. You talked yourself out of a tight spot.

I knew my lynch would be a turning point, which I tried to make clear to everyone, but as I feared, it turned for the worse.
