Town self hammering in favor of no lynch is generally a good idea.
What's the alternative? Mafia kills someone and then the next Day you're just going to be wagoned again *anyway* for the exact same reason you were already wagoned.
Yes, a town should try to not get shot because they know they're town. But Flay had said, essentially, that he had no town reads, and had no strong scum reads. He didn't say, "Don't shoot me, shoot <someone else>," it was *just* "Don't shoot me." That's the part that rubbed me wrong.
Flay wrote:*shrug* Darox was so evasive about his role I wasn't even sure I believed him about being multishot. But yeah, D3 was weirdly apathetic. Also while I get the 'letting yourself get shot is optimal' argument, it only makes sense from YOUR perspective, not mine. I know I'm a miskill, and with <72 left I had no faith in town responding to my death appropriately or effectively. Would have rather waited for another Day to figure things out (5 left would have meant we could have Darox shoot during Twilight, for double the chances to hit scum).
But then the next Day I'm still fixated on you, and you didn't do anything to try to figure things out (yes, you were on V/LA at Oakland, but you *knew that you were going to be V/LA during D3*).
(And that bit about Darox shooting at 5-player lylo during twilight is kind of b.s., since there was the uncertainty about whether he could shoot at all. Darox needed to shoot first, *then* we could lynch; if Darox didn't shoot, then there's all the "maybe he's lying about his role")
