it's not that we're low on time. it's that the amount of activity, combined with the need for 10 votes, combined with how little support there is for anyone that doesn't already have a wagon on them combined with how much time we have left means that unless you're going to strongly push your preferred wagon and convince other people you're right, you're better off not even trying at this point.

i generally have a high tolerance for VIs. Dante is pushing that tolerance to its limit.

yes, just because he replaced out does not change the investigation and work done. Kat threw out iffy behavior, he displayed his aggressive tone vs playful tone he has when town, and displayed other elements that were spurious. Sure, PV comes in and not done any of that but has showed things that seem to be trying to fix what Kat did. Nice effort but now we get to wait around for the claim.
