someone was once kind to me in a game when I really needed it. he isn't going to learn how to get better if people don't give him a chance or teach him how to play better.

w/e you guys do what you want I guess I am stupid for wanting to lynch scum. mebbe I missed the memo that we were supposed to follow a different agenda

You still haven't explained why I, a person you assumed was attacking over the slip, got attacked whilst two other players who specifically were attacking over the slip were not.
Incorrect.

I attacked you for trying to tie connections to a "slip".. not for believing the slip itself, or attacking the person for whom made the supposed slip.

As far as I was concerned, you connected a "slip" as a scum read, and wanted to lynch the person the slip is about as the next lynch if the first were to flip scum. I said the first may flip scum, but such a flip would have no reflection upon the second person, whom you wanted to see hung.... Whats the word...
'lining up lynches'
if you will.
Which is nothing like you saying that I'm lining up lynches does with your read of me if he flips scum?
It's the same sort of thing except you're using a different weak connection than the one you feel I'm using.
I don't think either is intrinsically scummy - but the double standard from you is.
What am I missing here?
My desire to see you lynched, does not revolve around the flipping of someone else, or first, or anything of that matter. Whereas you’re assertion required the first person to flip scum, and then desired the second lynched via your connective tell.
In post 1048, Thor665 wrote:

Thank you.
I didn't connect them to you - what are you talking about?
I did say you connected us to them...is that what you mean? For that - you did it yourself, so I have no idea why you need me to quote it.

As far as the post I had issues with, it was Posts 834-835 on this page; http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.ph ... &start=825
The way both of them denied it in weaksauce ways wherein one was like "But Elli hasn't even been in the QT" which is not a defense, and the guy who *did* nameslip about Elli points out he has only ever played with Elli once, which seems to strengthen the value of the slip tell, not weaken it/ Both were too worked up over it, making me feel there is something there.
-I didn't say you connecting anything to me, what are you talking about?
-I connected what to you? You said, following the slip that you wanted to lynch Nautilus pending a scum flip. NOONE ELSE MADE THIS CONNECTION. HENCE I SAID YOU were lining up lynches. While those players may have drawn those conclusions later, who knows... you JUMPED at it to connect Naut. Hence I disliked your connection, because slip or no that person might flip scum. And like I said when I'm scum, drawing connections between town players to my scum partners is a 1-0-1 move.

The circular-ness of this is baffling… I feel like you’re just trying to dance around the issue, and be purposely dense.

You Tried connecting Naut, or lined up lynches, how ever you want to word it to someone who might flip scum for some bullshit “slip”. Period.

You are scum.

Well, as for kanye, my only real point of reference for him is Paradox Prime. With respect to this game specifically, I haven't seen anything out and out scummy from him, but you already knew that. What's giving you misgivings, specifically? I'm not getting much from my ISO of him.

Also, I owe you an apology, cause I totally didn't realize until approximately now that you'd modded my list when you quoted it. Sorry.

You're still with that horrid bonneted vixen, I don't know if that apology is worth anything. (That's why I usually don't make alterations in quotes and find them bad form
and it drives me up a wall when people reply to quotes inside the same quote with bold, but that's beside the point

That last bit with Thor and kanye (which, incidentally, pinged Thor-Town for me). kanye's reaction to Thor answering for someone else seemed out of place, as it wasn't any sort of leading question, it was something that jut asked for a clarification. It seems like kanye is trying to ply that "Town who is annoyed at someone ruining their magic" line and doing it out of place--that reaction to Thor doesn't feel like it's coming from Town.

As for Cephrir, my primary reason for scumreading him is because I recently saw him up close and personal as town, and this ain't
nothin
like I saw him play.

http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.ph ... er_sort=Go

It's a bit of reading, but Ceph is laid-back, personable, pops his reads out here and there, scumhunts in a leisurely fashion, etc.

Here? His tone's completely different; he's very serious, almost formal. He's been super serious in his interactions and has been almost totally oblivious to the tempo of the thread; none of the playful banter present in 527, ignoring all the trolling going on, etc. Hell, he's so profoundly literal this game that he latches onto my mollie troll, takes it seriously, and proceeds to agree with the dislike of lurking
right after saying he's seen nothing townish from me.
(which is another reason i think he's scum but it helps my tone point so dealwithit)

His ISO also feels superficial as hell. Like, I dunno how better to describe it. It's that he's trying so HARD to look town. I feel like it's all an act. There's a bunch of on the surface scumhunting, but I don't get a thought process from it. It's just a bunch of stuff. Take his Nautilus read for example. He's got Nacho as "town as fuck", yet in his ISO he interacts with them in one post. In that post, he gives a bunch of responses to Nautilus, but reading them doesn't really give me that good "holy shit I think Nacho is so fucking town" feeling. This is true of much in his reads list; the people he takes stances on are ones he's hardly interacted with and the ones he's interacted with the most (i.e. Thor) is in his null list!

In short, Cephrir isn't playing the way I know he plays as town, he's too serious, and his ISO is devoid of any kind of discernible thought process.

Syr-

This game got serious a lot faster than the other one did. I've already established that I believe I'm allowed to agree with people without thinking the argument I'm agreeing with is town.

I don't need to interact with people a ton to get a townread on them. Did you see me interacting with Bert a lot in that game beforehand? Not really, I thought the slot was scum until he switched accounts and then I decided he was mega absurdly town. The only difference is that Nacho isn't surprised by this.

It's kind of a relief to hear you actually have solid reasons, but as Nacho said in that game, I was playing atypically in some regards. I don't expect any of that to convince you though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Guys, why are there so many MoI impersonators in this game?

Much caffeine later....

UNVOTE:
VOTE: Ooba

Kill it with fire. And then again. And maybe one more time?

Guys, Thor is town, and I'm a pro at reading Thor. Been doing it for years now.

We could also lynch macmollie. That'd be pretty sweet. Seriously, them and Ooba are competing right now for the most preposterously awful jobs at playing scum.

SafetyDance and his 10 scum reads can go pound salt, because that's about what that's worth. 10? The fuck, Faraday, why is there an almost 1:1 town scum ratio in this game?

Oh wait....

[sarcasm]The fuck, Faraday, why is there an almost 1:1 town scum ratio in this game?[/sarcasm]

And while it benefits scum a tad bit more than town to do that (and I mean a small fucking tad - any player worth their salt is gonna call another player if they jump between 10 prior scumreads with the wind sooooo), it's pretty much alignment-null. The whole jump there from nothing to 10 reads and no real reasoning given is pretty ugly, but I'd rather kill other shit first.

Stupendous is.... stupendous.

@Tierce
I'm going to stretch and guess when you say that you/Tammy/AB are all excellent at reading one another, you mean specifically one head of AB. Which is it, and how good are you at reading the other? Is it possible the other head could throw your reads?

Also, to the rampant usage of "I've seen this person do this as X in game Y,"...

You guys don't know how to meta and should seriously stop and do yourselves a favor and actually read them solely on this game.

Empire. And no, considering Empire is making the majority of the posts and is still posting without bawling like a toddler at posting where Tammy and I can see him. Llamarble is not impersonating him.

(It's kind of sad. Empire hasn't played scum in over a year and he hates it as much as I do.)

No, it's hard to explain because its illogical (ha!) but ill give it a whirl. It's mostly just a general feeling based on experience with syry. We've been scum partners before and he got caught out pretty quickly by nacho day one. He hasn't shown any concern of that happening again and although he has a pretty good scum game, he like most people has a sense of awkwardness around people who can read him well. I *think* he's only been scum once since then so I don't see him getting over that so quickly. We've also hydrad together and the way he's talking to me about his reads is what I would expect from a town him. I mean I guess you could say that since he's hydrad with me, he'd know what I would expect but it feels very fluid and spontaneous. I'm not getting a sense of calculation there. So from what I've seen thus far, I feel pretty good about him.
