Number One basically nailed my reasoning for hating lurkers. It's an easy cover for scum because not talking avoids explicit screw-ups, but it slows the game down and makes even Town players harder to read. If this were a face-to-face game, it would be like someone starting at their phone or falling asleep instead of playing the damn game. It's disrespectful to the other players.
I'll explain about joo tonight when I'm not on my phone. No vote until our 9th player shows up...
I do understand how lurkers in general are bad for the game, and I fully agree it shouldn't be done
By the way, am I correct in my assumption that we were talking about a D1 lynch of a lurker?
Because that seems pretty bad for town, however, on later days it might be possible to make a more informed call on whether or not a lurker should be lynched and isn't as bad.
TAM; Since you posted the questions, have you found anything worth noting?
There is also an educational reason for me to do RQS.
There are members on MafiaScum who use RQS frequently. Others are very much against it. And really, the RQS stage is put to it's best use when someone says something controversial and things can be taken from it.
There are others however who despise RQS, because they think it's very good for scum. I won't say that it is or isn't.
Also with more posts of conversation about things, and the replacement coming in at such a decent point in the game to replace. That the replacement (when they enter) is sure to bring ample discussion for us to go in with, simply from how he acts. This would be increased even more when there is more for a replacement to talk about upon coming in.
All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players.

Through use of rvs. Which eventually lead to serious votes.
VOTE: jmo16mla - not random.
First he asked whether or not I had replaced out. Might mean he was worried about a longtime IC, but moreso it shows a lack of attention paid. When I replied, he said he would "run away" rather than be lynched.
Now, and most significantly, he wants a RVS after RQS. Which is just delaying the onset of the proper game further. Hence a vote (which makes 3 on him, I believe). Time to pony up, kids. Who of the 8 that have showed up so far do you think is scummy? The game is afoot!
In the newbie queue, you DID say /out and that was the last time I saw anything of you until the game started. I figured it was a mistake by singer.
Why would I be scared of a long time player? I play with the best and consider myself to be one of the better players on site. As town. So, playing with you isn't frightening. Your point is almost contradicted because I posted to fart bane that "he eats sleeps shits and cries just like you do" where he is referring to you. That I me classifying you as a player, not an all time great.
Typically, newbie games an just about every other game starts off with RVS until something is spotted and a serious vote is cast. He clearly was asking how the game was started, so I explained how a typical game is started. What scum motivation is behind me explaining how games typically start?
Flay, your vote has put me at L-1 on page two. No one vote me. Kthanks.
I'm fine with that for now, unless a better candidate presents themselves.
I think the "he eats and sleeps like anyone else" also can serve to belittle me. If you're town it's fine, but if you're not it could be a way to put off any argument I make that you don't like.
Still, the biggest thing was trying to revert to RVS. That is not the mark of a strong player, particularly one who says they are good as town.

Truthfully I didn't take this as an attempt to belittle you. I feel he was just trying to make me more relaxed playing with more experienced players.

I'm not saying I entirely believe it can be good for scum.... BAUT it can set off easy wagons with little thought fast at the start of games. Which more experienced scum will most likely lead, and get fast town-cred. (my two cents)

I can link to the same game as Fart Bane, and that's it! I have no opinion on Lurkers and Liars except that lurkers should replace out, and Liars should be lynched. I guess that's an opinion, huh? I don't know what side I prefer playing as yet. Town is fun. It seems like mafia would be more stressful because you have to worry about getting caught, but as town all I have to worry about is getting killed at night.

This.
Not trying to belittle anyone. Just calling you human. Its rather easy to spot scum coming out of RVS due to them not knowing exactly what to do and leaving them twiddling their thumbs. though.
Bane, try to keep the multi posts down. One concise post recognizing all of your points gets across far better than 4 or even 5 in a row.
Bane, do you think flay's attack on me was one coming from scum?
