In retrospect, I don't like this. Turning me attacking orcinus into me always attacking orcinus (especially when I'm not attacking him directly but instead indirectly through the towniness of others) seems strange. At first I thought it was coming from Mara :/

and I am still decently confident in my ability to read him, it'll just take a little longer than usual. His play so far has been null, I can easily see the town side but I can just as easily see the scum-side of the play, and I can see TIP easily emulating his town play

Initially I read Irish's opening posts as town (like this and this) However, I really dislike his attempt to paint the Nacho/Mara interaction (which I'm going to purposely not out my read on) as scum. I also dislike the fact that he seemed to lack any actual focus on the situation but he still reached the conclusion based off of a few pages of back and forth. I do not know how Irish plays, so it's possible I'm mixing up an erratic playstyle with what I consider scumtells usually but right now I'd actually be happy to join in on a wagon on him.

I have a couple of mild towntells I'm going to refrain from outing completely given the early nature of this game but I'll tell you that Sound of Silence is probably town. I feel completely out of the loop to be honest but I guess I prefer this over a snail pace.

well no, considering I am still recovering from my town-reading scum-you in every game you were scum. I havn't figured out the difference between town-ffery and scum-ffery other than what Nacho told me Re your interactions with your buddies and, when I try to use meta I end up being burned

I think my scumplay wound up in some sort of blind spot of yours, because IMO it's still significantly different from my town play despite considerable effort.

It's hard to tell when he hasn't even given an actual reason for his vote yet. He says that he wants to discuss it, but he's not giving anything to discuss. It seems slightly scummy at this point, like he's just trying to seem town by saying "hey, let's discuss my vote," without giving anything to work with, but I still want him to state his reasoning.

What makes you think he isn't town?

There are other things, but mainly? Playing the newb card. Read his games. In every town game, he doesn't play it. In most of his scum games, he does. There's also the content and tone. Phok displays a greater amount of confidence and logical thinking as scum, whereas when town, is more doubtful and unassured of himself.

Serious, legitimate, townread here. Because I had the exact same impulse, here. (That being, projectmatt's opener was scummy, but ultimately town.)

But that is exactly what you tried to do by making a pre-formed town bloc...halt the normal scumhunting procedure.

The idea was to channel the normal scumhunting onto four players for a time period of a week. Then, from there, normal scumhunt everyone. However, if the idea was rejected, I'd rather not have us be debating it for ten pages, because that'd be a waste of time and effort. (And I am hoping the 11 extra pages aren't discussing it. ) Sure, yeah, question my alignment for proposing the idea, but not the idea itself. Which is either something we should do or shouldn't do.

I still stick by my answer of us doing it, considering my serious townreads on SoS and Nacho mean half the members I want in there already are town.
