Sorry, was desperate when explaining a scumread and wasn't thinking clearly. Hedging isn't necessarily alignment-indicative, etc., etc. Bad Bert...

But I stand by 75% of my comments about him, and I don't feel like rehearsing again those few petty comments about how I find mastin scummy

you criticize him for waffling on the scumread on me, but I don't think that's unusual for people who are scumreading me, especially Day 2 in a Micro.
Fine. Yeah, a portion of what I said doesn't apply, but it's the thought of how he looks that matters - although what I said is not valid, gut read is still there which is why you're voting phok, because "gut"

I thought the newb card was pretty understandable here.
I also think that he seems unsure enough.
Nacho, what did you mean by this? You had phok as town through half-way D1, so help me understand

Sure I need more time to fully sort things out, hence my passivity. That doesn't mean I'm not going to working with certain scumteam models when a certain group of players seem town. I am starting to get restless about Tammy, though. She should be in my townblock but the only person who has earned a solid spot there so far is mastin.
In post 573, Bert wrote:I did not vote him earlier because I saw people calling him town a lot.
This makes sense! Why did you vote him when you did?
In post 573, Bert wrote:Mastin is not being suspected as much as I think he should be.
i disagree.
In post 574, Bert wrote:so using a gambit and calling someone scum and announcing you have a scumread on them when you aren't really sure - that is not a full scum read in my book
I think the only people who have had anything close to a full scumread are me and maybe TiP, then.

He seems unsure enough as in his confidence wasn't betraying a scum role PM.

I kinda want to call Bert and Nacho both town off of activity alone. I mean, their back and forth consistently-proactive posting just doesn't seem like scum.

It's been a really long few days. I was out of town for the weekend and I hate tomorrow! I'm working on it.

Tentative reads list:

Tammy:
Like I said before, I really loved her enthusiasm while entering the game in post/being ballsy enough to cal Mastin out on his bad idea. Since then, I really can't say that she has towntold a lot since then but her overall tone (and I guess laid-back-ness?) fits the meta that I know from her and makes me think that she's more than likely
town
at this point.

mastin2:
When it comes down to it, I really SHOULDN'T be townreading Mastin. His play, thus far, has been relatively uninteresting/lacking substance but I really can't hide from the fact that a lot of the crap that he does reads like a towntell to me in spite of his occasionally poor ideas (LIKE THIS). Plus, he called me a bad player :( After that, his play steadily improved and the logic that he has been providing has at least made sense from the way I have seen that he thinks - the kind of carefully calculated but altogether terrified gameplay. This read is, primarily based on tone/gut so I admit it isn't the thing that I can defend logically very well. Mastin isn't really in my suspect pool right now.
Mild town

You have no idea how badly I want
Bert
to be town. Mainly because he is really cool and he enjoys my poetry. However, I've been relatively disappointed with his gameplay so far. He has the same kind of sporadic posting but without the literal-paranoia-of-everyone that I saw him showcase very clearly in a previous game. I feel like his attack on Mastin might be a pretty stupid move for scum-Bert to make at this point in the game. I just feel like his reads lack...conviction, I guess? I'm hoping that my read on him steadily approves as the game goes on. I don't think I would compromise on a Bert lynch today but he isn't exactly the grandest of town players.
Null town

I don't have the patience to make a paragraph on the rest of you but here is what I'm thinking.

I barely have a read on
Nacho
but it has been leaning town all game. In a way though I'm realizing that it comes from a subconscious bias for my desire for him to be town because I know that if he is mafia it's going to be a serious pain to even try to get him lynched. I read a lot of his posts as town in regards to tone and I still like the fact that he hive-minded with me on a towntell from phokdapolees. It seemed, at the very least, like the conjecture of a similar thought process. Honestly though at the same time his content has kind of just passed through me for most of the game. I'm definitely not ready to call him a townread. Sort of a cop-out, but..
Null

Likewise, I do not like
TheIrishPope
. It is possible that I have been confusing his playstyle with scumplay but almost every post I read by him bothers me. I did not like the fact that he tried to paint Nacho & Mara as scum vs. scum and I did not like the fact that he's pretty much all but backed off of the game after the night ended. I don't know if he's embarassed or what but I don't understand the (somewhat) general lack of pressure/scumread on him. If anybody would like to elaborate for me, that would be great.
Scum?

phokdapolees first post was a towntell. The rest has been trash. Right now I'm honestly leaning on voting phokdapolees but I kind of want to try to turn it over to TheIrishPope because I know that if we are both alive in the future I will absolutely not be able to contain myself. I don't know.

We have a little while until the deadline and I'm intending on making the most of it. Some of my reads might be slightly off but this is where I'm at right now.

Okay, I've only played with the both of you as separate players once, but I remember him scum reading you in Good vs. Evil when he was scum and you were town? My memory could be rusty and I'll have to look back; that *might* have just been endgame though and not relevant at all.

Nacho love you know this game Newbie 1419 ended today so now we can talk about phok-scum as if we have seen him/her before which we very well have

what do you say, boss?? He was quite hedgy in that 1419 game which does not mean much, but we have common ground from which to spew opinions about lovely Police.

Was planning on getting to that on Monday. In part, though, I have to admit...one reason I have you as town is because you said that a person really knowing what they were looking for would be calling you obvtown. :P I seem to recall hearing that from you every previous time you've been town. (Granted, I don't think I've ever seen you as scum.)
You've seen me as a serial killer >_<

But, I actually like this reason for town reading me. I remember getting really weirded out by you in Happy Tree Friends for giving me a town read on my rvs post and deciding you guys had to be scum for it and was wrong, so I'm inclined to believe that you pick up on these types of things. I've never said this as scum though; I feel like my scum game is incredibly obvious and everything I say sounds fake.

In post 455, Tammy wrote:So although everyone would make that kill regardless of anything, scum TiP wouldn't make it because? I'm not following.
Scum TIP wouldn't make that kill because of the suspicion on him. He might make the kill for other reasons, but if he's scum, I doubt it was because they scumread him.
[/quote]

That doesn't discount that a team with TiP on it would have made that kill though.

I thought of that "not leading wagons" issue I have, which makes me cause too much swing especially if my strongest townread is scum - you talked about this to some degree before. So I led my own wagon, especially I can't read stronger players well and I'm easy to manipulate *cough Nacho cough cough* not naming names - still absorbing what I can about that! In the end, I'll probably sheep for the most part.

...At least, that was the idea. It had a ton of flaws. Mainly? I screwed up by using only the bold tag rather than the vote tag, Nacho is smart enough that he probably could figure this strategy out and leave me alive intentionally, the inactivity surrounding this game, and requiring us to lynch someone else when a lynch on Nacho or me is where the day was looking like it was heading.

It's possible that I could benefit from waiting to make this reveal later, but given so many people slacking off, and me being limited by that forced restriction, I needed to discard it in order to free me up for playing more naturally. (By which, I mean, proactively. :P)
I don't know if it's because it's late, I've barely slept in days and am freaking exhausted right now, but I don't understand any of this.
