... how do you still not get this? there are certain abilities that are more beneficial to scum than they are to town. yes. ok. we've established that. the question is whether or not a person who publicly claims to have advertised these abilities is scum. i think it's unwise to rule out the possibility they just weren't thinking when they advertised it (or when they intended to advertise it, in the case of baldeagle) and honestly claimed it. you apparently think, "fuck that, they claimed it, they must be scum!"

Talk to your buddy Seanald, becasue he hasn't answered this either.

you also keep saying this like you know for certain that it's happening.
you forget they play a huge risk putting their eggs in 1 basket, my team made that mistake in marketplace 2 and lost a lot of money.
You said you advertised it. Did you bid on it and win it? If so, when do you plan on removing $100 from each player? When do you think is the optimal time to use it for town?
Why it is scummy to advertise anti-abilities, and not just dumb?
You keep an anti-town ability on the list, like Austerity Measures.
Accountant and Gift Card, pro-town abilities, leave the game.
****Accountant x 2 (Targeted): Choose another player. You will learn how much money this player possessed at the end of this Night.
****Gift Card x 2 (Targeted): Choose another player. The following Night, that player will gain $50 (this will appear to them identically as if it was transferred).
The crap ability in question is also bidded on and won for $11.

Or conversely, why would town advertise an ability that doesn't benefit town?
In post 1296, zMuffinMan wrote:i dunno. i've seen some pretty stupid fucking claims this game from more than seanald, though, so i don't see your point here. e.g. baldeagle wanted to advertise governor, and voided advertising EV.
seems a null point.
Governor can be used by town to save a town-read, or scum to save a town to whiteknight, or scum to save a scum. Either way, if it's not publicly known, the governed person comes under more scrutiny.
Extra Vote gives an extra vote, useless when less than 10 players. The person having the extra vote will be immediately recognized by thier extra voite.
Austerity Measures removes $100 from every player in the game and can be done by whoever has it. There is no accountability. At all.
It still bugs the shit out of me that you don't see the difference.
