God, it was getting late. I wasn't the only one tired; I kept having to poke people to wake them up. Some of them I started poking with clubs.

Eventually, we got down to brass tacks, and it looked like I might be able to sneak away to have a well-deserved cigarette before bedtime.

But I knew it wasn't to be when my phone rang, the Notorious B.I.G.'s "Mo Money Mo Problems" ringtone telling me it was Mr. Thompson.

Dread filling in my stomach, I picked up the phone. "Hello?" I asked, plaintively.
