Whether or not I was wrong does not mean you should be confused by my read. You also didn't ask the same question of everyone on the wagon, so clearly something is different with me. What is it, and why was this line of questioning needed? You don't even appear to be doing anything with it now that you have it.In post 1346, fferyllt wrote:The part where you voted someone I thought was town, and he flipped town.- Garmr

This was supposed to be a question? Because it was it's pretty open and being clear with your questions is a part of being useful. But I've always had a few suspicions (As street) and the most you have been is a null-town read day 1 (As street.) and even then you I was still cautious of you.In post 1348, fferyllt wrote:

It was because of your post inviting players to convince you that you were wrong about TvK. That sounded a minor off note to me when I reread the wagon formation after the thread was locked. In post 1355, Squirrel Girl wrote:

I had planned to give that a shot, but wanted to see Reg's reads first because I was hoping he had found or explained a total slam-dunk, because although I'm more than convinced enough to vote TvK again, I don't know that what convinces me will convince someone who approaches the game differently from me. Sort of like Kid A's tinfoil hat theories about the scum team in this game looked town-crazy to me but apparently not to at least some of the players on his wagon. I've never seen scum simulate that kind of silliness successfully. If you're not typing it with a straight face on your side of the monitor, it shows.
Speaking of at least some of the players on his wagon, where would you scumhunt in that list?Amid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.

You knew that RegFan wanted to make another post. You and Eek both did.
What was the town-motive in preventing that?Amid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.

Why did it sound off to you? It seemed like an intelligent thing to look into as far as I could tell. You even just said you were apparently planning to respond to the request but decided to let Reg pick up and run with the ball instead, so at least right when it happened you were good, when did it go wonky on you?In post 1357, fferyllt wrote:It was because of your post inviting players to convince you that you were wrong about TvK. Probably TvK, Fitz and Garmr, vaguely that order. Not overly happy with any of the options though. I basically have them all as some degree of town, which means I'm sucking it somewhere. In post 1357, fferyllt wrote:Speaking of at least some of the players on his wagon, where would you scumhunt in that list?- Garmr

It sounded a little off in retrospect because of Kid A's flip. You basically abdicated the town task to try to leave no stone unturned, and said "convince me".In post 1360, Squirrel Girl wrote:

I hoped the majority was right and I was wrong when that wagon hit hammer. The flip didn't surprise me, but it did disappoint me. And then I read back over the last couple pages thinking "where are the scum" on that wagon.
The easy answer is "the L-1 vote" because that sometimes looks like a safer place to be than the hammer position. But, I've been town-reading Eek since the interactions I had with him over his reads list on day 1, and I haven't seen a lot to cause a rethink.
What I saw of Garmr in the on a boat game is that as town he's unjustifiably certain of himself and he shuts down and stops thinking when he decides he has the answers. His hammer does look like what I know of his town meta. So has most of the rest of his play. Sloppy, dropping fake-tells, and shallow thought process were all part of his on a boat game.
I don't know about you, but I want to look at every single one of my reads and assumptions today. That includes my town reads.Amid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.

I"ll agree that my scum game is a hell of a lot weaker than my town game. I try to play in games where I'm out of my league because I learn a lot more and improve a lot faster playing with people who are better than me.
Basically what you're telling me though is that I should be wary as hell about you in this game.Amid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.

I haven't done this in every town game like mini 1510 If i did through I would of nailed 2/3 scum team straight off the bat irony ;/.In post 1363, fferyllt wrote:What I saw of Garmr in the on a boat game is that as town he's unjustifiably certain of himself and he shuts down and stops thinking when he decides he has the answers. No no no not just this game in every game you should be cautious. I mix up my scum games play style to suit the player roster. The Narnia game is the best example and was a ego boost but I am so proud of that game.- fferyllt

This is what I mean about not being useless btw. You're not working on solving this game. You're too wrapped up in appreciation of your awesome self.

Well your probably not going to like my reads at the end of the day and looking back over over day 2 but if there was scum on that wagon it would be TvK and possibly Milked Eek. I still don't like the fact that wake was the only vote on penguin_alien and penguin alien died.
Also wtf is a scoop is that even a real role and does it come with icecream.- fferyllt

It's not a real role, and I have no idea what bullshit he'll make up to explain how his "scope" works if he decides to keep this gambit going.Amid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.

I don't really care why he did this. He backs off this bullshit in his next post or we 1v1.In post 1370, Garmr wrote:I don't understand why someone would create a fake role like that and call it scope. Your much better saying one shot Inspector and you were saving it till night 2.
You at least know that I didn't 1v1 Yates despite my role being exactly what I said it was. I didn't set-up speculate myself into a 1v1 with the town doctor. I looked beyond that and tried to find scum.
Pulling this crap after what he did in that open game, though, that tells me that he doesn't learn from mistakes. If he's scum at least it's marginally in support of a scum wincon. If not, then it's just terrible fucking play.Amid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.

Scope fits with the theme of the game, dummies.
I don't understand this, fferyllt;
"He backs off this bullshit in his next post or we 1v1."
If there's someone claiming to be a cop with a positive on me, I wouldn't even doubt his alignment, that dude is scum. Why are you being so careful? If I were you, I'd go after Wake and I wouldn't try to have him back off on his cop claim. What are you hoping he's going to do? "Oh, right, I see. No, I got a scum result on you, but I'll back down, now that you've put it that way.".
I'm inclined to believe Wake for the following reasons:
- his claim feels really nervous. But not scum fakeclaiming nervous. More like a "first time cop getting scum" kind of getting nervous. It's exactly the same as how I claimed the first time I was cop.
- your reaction to the claim is really wrong. Absolutely wrong.
- your frustration at the beginning of D3 towards the end of D2 is fake. It feels super rehearsed.
