We got rolled.

I feel bad because I never got a voice and just when I was actually getting some conviction, albeit 50/50, it was too late for me. Still I liked the game because despite getting rolled I enjoyed the challenge.

That said, LB should have been the automatic lynch in Lylo as a deserpation shot for town because something was obviously up and I would have tunnelled that lynch to the ends of the earth if bald had gotten lynched.

Scum played pretty baller though. So Kudos.

The way that my (or anyone's posts) are outlined is not inherenetly biased toward one alignment or the other. The CONTENT (and context) is and can be, obviously, but just making one long post of quotes is no more anti-town than multiple posts with 1-2 quotes each.

No arguments if you think it's annoying as fuck, though. (and as I've said, I hate doing it as much as people hate looking at it. I simply don't always have the time for shorter posts.)

Such grievances aside, I will fully admit I probably never really pulled my weight this game. LB and Muffin, at least, deserve their victories, and I should've done more to help KA. But, I figure this is just as good a time to try (
TRY
) to take a break, retire, etc. for a time. It doesn't help that I'm normally working the night shifts, which pretty much automatically puts me at odds with everyone else who DOESN'T have free time in the mornings/early afternoon, which keeps me behind and not always up-to-date on things, which leads to me having to frequently comment on things after they've happened or are actually relevant, and also feeds into me having to do those huge-ass quote walls (Seriously, in MMII I had to wade through TWELVE PAGES one time), and that doesn't help anyone.

As interesting as Mafia is, I was planning on taking a break once this game was done, nevermind that personal issues/problems are also inhibiting my drive to play (fuckups as a mod don't help, either <_<). I still did enjoy this game, though not to the extent I wanted to. I also, unfortunately, don't really have many comments about the game itself (other than to really just say "SUCK IT, BALDEAGLE/MOLLA/PROHAWK (BUT MAINLY BALD), I WASN'T SCUM!" but beyond saying that right there that's unnecessarily immature <_<).

...So. Good game, good work scum, etc., and g'bye for a time. Mayhaps I can come back in t he summertime or so, or just mod a 13- game off and on when I feel I'm ready for it, but don't expect me to join any games in the near future.

I mean, the most activity I'll probably do before that point is update my wiki with the games I've modded and get through all the finished mafia games I need to finish reading.

welllllllll we were kinda operating on the assumption that you knew who we were (or at least knew i was scum because of the huge blatantly obvious hint i dropped - not transferring the $185 i said i did).

regardless, even if i didn't think you knew who we were, i woulda activated it anyway. did you not SEE my abilities? investigation immunity, ninja, roleblocker, hitman, bulletproof, tailor and if i had gotten NK again i woulda been the ULTIMATE SCUM LORD. i

oh, voided, if you find quote strips effective that's fine - but i'd suggest people tend to find them scummy as it looks (and tends to lead to) nitpicky type responses. tbh I only skimmed most of your posts looking for my name a lot, because I felt it was enough, tryng to make shorter posts/more general points in a paragraph summary would probably be more effective at getting people to read (and maybe town read idk? i didn't think you were scummy here, but i think your playtstyle tends to lend to looking a bit sketchy)

yeah I think we did then the innocent just made us more wary and then lots of people did things that didn't make much sense, scumhunting as scum is harder anyway, as you just don't actually care and fake scumhunting is much easier to fake

I neighborized you figuring between the 2 heads I'd get a better read on your alignment, and if you were town, our discussion would be more thorough.

By the time n3 arrived, Quilford was pretty absent, and I couldn't find it in me to call you a strong town read.

So, I made a separate QT with the purposes of trying the same thing (hydra, not town enough to die too quickly).

Actually, the activity there was even worse.

I figured if you were both silent town, then no harm done. If either of you were scum, then screw you, you're not getting a free QT.

I did enjoy the game, though. I think the new "scum powers" may have been too much, because even without the public transfer plan, most of the scum players didn't have enough pressure on them to be lynched.

But pre-in for Marketplace Mafia IV!!

I think I've kinda lost that art, eh? Or at least I never really worked on making general points in a summary, or something like that <_<.

Though, as I said, this was a style born of necessity. Undoubtedly I may have to post like that again (though hopefully only when I'm honestly unable to reach the game in time for a particularly active moment), but I want to ensure I will be able to have the time to play a game and the drive to do so first.

It wasn't my posting style, was it (as in the quote walls)?

Was it the way I sounded, perhaps? I was trying to say what I meant to say, or something like that.

Great game, i had fun watching my scum team plot the whole time.

Sorry about getting lynched, this game pretty much proved to me that i cant play larges. So sorry for lurking, i had a hard time catching up. I feel bad for being the only scum lynched.

But over all good game scum :D

Don't quote wall, ever. Treat them as separate posts and it makes it much easier on the eyes. People start to lose interest at the second quote. And rarely will go past the third.

I'll throw in my two cents that I found your posts to be agonizing to read, Voided, and I started scanning them looking only for votes pretty early on.

(It felt like you went through the thread and quoted stuff, and then responded to each quote in turn. But the end effect for me was that you would do a bit about topic A, then topic B, then C, then A, then C, then A, then B, then D, then A, etc etc)

To put in a bit of a personal view. I will generally, if I have alot to talk about, do it one bit at a time. Quote something, then post. Quote something else, then post. It makes more posts. But breaks up the thought process and makes it easier to follow. If you can get away with it, just put post numbers. Or if it is recent just respond by saying who you are talking to beforehand. (I generally go "@user: words")

i don't mind quote walls. i often read them if i have time (i skim or skip them if i'm short on time, and really, i could probably do that with every quote wall, but i like reading them sometimes) but you just need to focus your quote-walling if you're going to do it

think about what you're responding to, what you're responding with, and if you can cut it out without losing anything of value, cut it out. that was the biggest problem i would have had with your posts this game if i were town - so much unnecessary commentary and questions

a quote-wall for me now is maybe 4-5 quotes because i try not to include stuff that i don't need to know the answer to, stuff that i don't need to comment on, or stuff that someone else is already asking/commenting on (unless i feel it necessary to make a point out of what they're saying)

alternatively, if you don't want to do it like espeonage suggested (which i personally find far more fucking annoying than quote walls because it unnecessarily adds pages and then people do the same in responding and it leads to 10-15 pages a day that could easily be condensed into 2-3 - no real difference in the amount of content but huge difference in how i feel about reading it), you could just cut your quote walls into pages (which i also do sometimes when i'm behind) - select one or a few posts from a page you think are necessary to respond to, respond to them, post, move on to next page.

*shrug* if it were only 3 pages, i would not have a problem, but when you have multiple players adopting that form of posting, it becomes 10-15 pages easily and at that point i'm skimming or skipping it unless i'm in an extremely masochistic mood
