meh, I think smart casting is way better outside a few niche moves(Rumble R, Veiger E). It's pretty easy to shoot something where you aim it.

I exclusively smart cast too. But, mostly because I haven't developed the mechanical skill needed to effectively toggle between the usage of both.

There is a default key binding for it, I think like ctrl q ctril w etc. But I changed the defaults so long ago that I'm not sure.

Most people just rebind smartcasting to q w e and r
Don't forget to do it with your items too.

The difference is that when you smart cast, you only press the button, you don't press it, get a range indicator then click again to confirm.

To change your key bindings go into the options menu in game, pretty easy to find.

Pinky - Shift
Ring - Q
Middle - W
Index - E
Thumb - Alt

Shift+spell = smartcast
Alt+ spell = selfcast
Use your index to press R and your thumb to press Spacebar.

For Viktor, his E on smartcast requires you to first hold E to set the lasers starting location, then move your mouse to where you wish the ray to travel. These are the only special cases I can think of, but every other champion should be simple.

I know I'm late, but Akali is not difficult TIP. At all. I just went 5/0/2 in my first game with her and got a triple kill.

The hardest part about Akali is that she is a glass cannon. I had a hard time with her until I figured out how to build her right and get the correct runes/masteries. She hits hard but needs a little extra health and life steal/spell vamp.

Just be ready to die quickly if you get caught out or jump on someone at the wrong time.

I use range indicators with my smartcast - so you press the key, it shows the range then if you let go of the key it activates. If you click it disables it.

Are there any downsides to it? I've thought for a long time I should switch to that, but I'm too stubborn to try it.

You can screw up on it by spamclicking (which isn't really a downside as you stop spamclicking all the time), and it's not quite as fast as regular press button skill activates smartcast b/c you still gotta let go.

I use regular smartcast on certain champions - mostly adcs b/c i need to use the escape ASAP and screw actually aiming that thing specifically.

I actually dislike smart casting. I find I can hit skillshots alot better by taking that fraction of a second to aim.

EDIT-it also stops me from spam clicking, so every shot is precise.

Akali more about decision making than mechanical skill. You're going to do shit tons of damage regardless of skill rotation you use.

There's nothing to add to the smartcast convo. I personally don't reg cast anything ever.

Zed feels a lot weaker than I remember. It's probably just my build in the current meta but I'm getting a lot of second wind syndrome.

I think it's worth it if you have any type of life-steal or you're a tank, so I only tend to skip it on mages.
