I thought Benmage played well in LyLo. Yes, he was wrong but he shook up the game in such a way where it allowed us to get a scumlynch that I hadn't imagined happening ever. The adrenaline rush during that lynch was insane."Playing with Nacho is like playing with a religious conservative." ~UncertainKitten

Must be nice to have such an unshakable ego that you keep fakeclaiming guilties to no avail and keep thinking that is something a "great person" would do!In post 6559, Benmage wrote:I don't know why your in such a hissyfit? I fakeclaimed.. great people do it all the time.
Nacho you didn't spot the Olenna-Sansa-Joffrey connection. I wanted to cry at that one.
My role was excellent, Faraday. I have to give the roles a closer look later, but I had a lot of fun with my abilities, and making the Damphair Macho had the perfect flavor justification.- Nachomamma8

I didn't trust you, no. I was entertaining the possibility of you being town a hell of a lot more than I ever was before, but there were a few things about your play that still bothered me/SafetyDance still didn't seem like scum with quadz. You played very well, though. In post 6569, Titus wrote:You weren't obvtown to me until Messiah died. I kept thinking you were the traitor who had figured us out.
Did you think I was town at the end Nacho or were you using me to bus AB?"Playing with Nacho is like playing with a religious conservative." ~UncertainKitten

I picked up on a couple things after we lynch Alfred and they flipped scum but was nowhere close to picking up on anything before thatIn post 6576, Tierce wrote:

Big props to Faraday modding btw. This had to be one of the most complicated games ever.
Thanks Nacho. Good to know my paranoia was at least partway justified. I'll have to work on it but yeah I can say this was by far my best scum game to date.ShowThe scum had the misfortune of Titus being absurdly accurate on day one.Really quite impressed by that.~Drixx

I thought the big thing that sold me on you was the way you compromised some morals when convenient (Alfred being scum for hammering, scum in fake guilted players). You usually stick up for what you believe in as town and push it in a very poignant way; you didn't do that here.
You did well to fake some pretty key moments, though- Nachomamma8

Fake guilties were both obvious fake guilties and I feel like an idiot for falling for both.

Thats been the first wrong guilty I've done in like a year or 2... and my batting % would be pretty high. But I digress..In post 6576, Tierce wrote:

Look, I'm sorry if I crossed the line (again) with you. Its never my intent to truly be mean. I come off arrogant and brutish, but I just lose patience and become a dick. I expect others to let things roll off their shoulders the way I do. So yeah... sorry you got as upset as you did, not my desire(this is technically a game right? )... and I'll respect avoiding you in future games."ITT Benmage is making Shakespeare look cool. I felt like SafetyDance was one of those scum lynches that should've happened way in the beginning (when it didn't) and I thought he was on borrowed time... and I just had bad blinders up... that helped in the PoE that made Titus town.
I do agree Nacho... that was some quirky lylo. But fun!"ITT Benmage is making Shakespeare look cool. I need to bring you to my high school." -Vi

I have a big write up on this game to do eventually but I do not have time now: I believe the theme for now will be "apologizing to Magua and complimenting Cephrir". I note all of the scum in this game were nailed for decent reasons somewhere in thread (then buried by me). The biggest flaw in my town game is my complete lack of reorienting when my initial burst into the game is completely wrong, and the scumteam was smart to take advantage of that."Playing with Nacho is like playing with a religious conservative." ~UncertainKitten

I don't think that's why. We all had good reasons against us at one point or another. Town suffered from too many chefs. All the compromising lynches were town lynches. You'd push me as scum, wind up compromising. Someone else would push AB, but wind up compromising. In post 6587, Nachomamma8 wrote:I have a big write up on this game to do eventually but I do not have time now: I believe the theme for now will be "apologizing to Magua and complimenting Cephrir". I have the same problem sometimes, and by trying to correct it, it can lead to less "bite" in your play sometimes which isn't the desired effect. You certainly efforted hard here, and did turn your reads around at lylo - I think a benmage WAKE UP call to you earlier like the way he played lylo might have helped, Cephrir played very impressively, though. In post 6587, Nachomamma8 wrote:I have a big write up on this game to do eventually but I do not have time now: I believe the theme for now will be "apologizing to Magua and complimenting Cephrir". I also think you underestimated empire's scum game because you were scum with him in marketplace, and probably slightly biased to his posts looking more weak than they were - I agree they were stronger here, just I think hydraing with him as scum over there hindered it, as you had lower expectations than you might have had.break my heart- Cephrir

In fairness, everyone in the game was probably "nailed" somewhere in the thread, except possibly you and ooba.In post 6587, Nachomamma8 wrote: I note all of the scum in this game were nailed for decent reasons somewhere in thread (then buried by me)."I would prefer not to." --Herman Melville,Bartleby the Scrivener- Natirasha

thanks for the game faraday!
also yeah, peacebringer was coming up with weird reasons to replace out of scum games all over the site. those were the *reasons* I wanted them lynched but couldn't explain it cos of ongoing games. it made me mad too when he replaced out cos I thought that it was cheap.whew!- Shadoweh

It's interesting that between 24 people there was only one character (Syrio) that two people picked as first. Having not read the books I wouldn't have guessed there were that many characters to choose from. I regret nothing! Except for thinking it was my reads that were shit and deferring to the wisdom of the crowd. It's.. weird to read what everyone was saying, I wanted to replace out more then once for thinking I just couldn't play, I'm half-heartened that my unexplainable need to lynch Alfred was right and still half-expecting to be told how terrible at mafia I am. I think I had fun being dead though! And being Garruk's neighbour of course, Natirasha whose name I will never spell right was excellent at townie motivation and I was at least 75% more fuck it after he was lynched for no reason. Coming back to either a sudden night from a quicklynch or to the forum not loading at all 90% of the time was really.. not.. fun.
Cephrir's play was the perfect blend of Just Town Enough. Ignoring the dumb things I said about multiscum, the part where he brought up his 'results' on Benmage and then faded back into the background while Garruk was lynched, plus the part where Tierce was advocating Cephrir's lynch, died overnight, and Alfredscum was ignoring the chance to push MY DEAR DEPARTED'S CASE to wail about Benmage would have been a pretty good case on him. Of course that would have required a town willing to lynch Alfred in the first place.. and Cephrir staying alive to troll the last day was worth it. I hope Nacho read back over yesterday with the scumteam in mind and tapes some epic facepalming.
"Daddy Nacho may we please lynch the scum today? Like that Alfred or Cephrir guy?"
"No Shadoweh we are on a strict mislynching schedule and I will not have you setting us off course!"
I brought up PB's scum-exodus as soon as it wasn't ongoing for me and I regret nothing of it.I HATE YOU SO MUCH PLEASE GO JUMP INTO A FREEZING LAKE - Mr. Freeze

Why not Miller? Miller is a perfectly fine role for what it is and is extremely less bastardly than, say, a Godfather. Admitadly it's supposed to force people to just scumhunt a slot normally, but I see that as a good thing. In post 6573, Benmage wrote:WHY MILLER!@!!!!!- pirate mollie

wrt bold: with all things being equal considering, both are "bastardly" (I don't really see it as such) in that both roles mess up the info that town receives. In post 6596, Thor665 wrote:

What's funny is that I knew he was scum here but was still mostly townreading Empire D1-D2 in Marketplace because I'd thought he looked better there. I'm prone to reading people as the opposite alignment of whatever they were in a game I read while spoiled; confirmation bias makes me think they were easier to read last game because my brain focuses on the signs pointing toward his/her alignment and filters out the ones obscuring it.In post 6591, Faraday wrote:I also think you underestimated empire's scum game because you were scum with him in marketplace, and probably slightly biased to his posts looking more weak than they were - I agree they were stronger here, just I think hydraing with him as scum over there hindered it, as you had lower expectations than you might have had. - Mina
