i don't see it. the second bolded part was obviously referring to people posting at the time who were oblivious to the IC announcement. the first bolded part is meh

I would guess that's a reference to 197, with "we" meaning the town as a group. Doesn't seem likely that the mystery other would be in a scum QT given the nature of the statement.

Wasn't terribly obvious to me either, but it does make sense.

Cadb says that town doesn't read the mod-post, but scum do. Then says to the group of people, many who seemed to have missed the IC announcement, "but you all missed it, shame on you." This doesn't make sense from town-frame, because if everyone there is town, then this is perfectly consistent with the first statement. He expresses surprise, though, suggesting that he's observed that scum also have failed to read the mod-post.

I see this as "my hypothesis was a reaction to <x> might be alignment sensitive. However, everyone reacted identically to <x> from what I saw, so I had to chuck that hypothesis" the conclusion was that he was wrong to assume that.

I don't see how you can argue that "you ought to be ashamed of yourselves" is them admonishing their scumbuddies for what? fitting in? how does that hurt them if they're scum? This doesn't hold water.

I agree with that too, actually, but it makes just as little sense if he's talking to scum there. He's not going to (even subconscously) call his buddies out publicly in-thread.

The only perspective it really makes sense from is "why did nobody but me read this?" which is null.
