So first ranked game of the season. Not bad, I went 2/4/19 as thresh but we still lost due to our top lane darius leaving at level 7 after feeding Kayle 4 kills.

I don't mind though because I played really well that game and made some great plays for my team.

First ranked game of the season:

Won a 4v5 after panic picking Cho'Gath who I haven't played in probably six months.

just had a thought:

I believe that learning this game from a silver level to plat level theres a ton of things you need to pick up; that is, theres lots of decsions which you have to make correctly that silver players often make incorrectly.

But I think that any silver player who knows a diamond/plat player in real life could easily be coached by them and be ready to carry to plat in a couple weeks. Theres just things you need to KNOW thats it.

anyway figured i should write this here because idk where else to put it and its interesting

this is assuming that plat players are easy to find irl
also assuming that the plat/diamond player knows exactly what he's doing
also assuming that the plat/diamond player has the patience and the know-how to coach well

Second ranked game:

Picked Shen top vs a Pantheon. Got doubleteamed early by Elise/Panth over and over (gold duo queue) and was 0/3 and a bit behind. Still managed to pull off a victory though mostly on the back of our gold duo bot lane Sivir+Taric.

2-0 so far

no.. why ban leona? no one can play her that well in silver anyway. In plat I pick thresh into leona all the time and win lane; what I meant had nothing to do with banning/picking for the most part.

And Saki, trust me you know how you watch bronze 5 highlights and wonder if they are seriously trying? Thats how I felt watch silvers play. Yeah it's hard to find someone willing to do that. Idk I know a lot of people in plat, most people I know who play this game are in plat i just assumed they were all around. But if you think you could help a bronze 5, then you see how diamond/plat could easily help a silver.

edit: not trying to be condescending, I bet mid-high diamond players would look at plat players and feel the same way; hell, pro players feel that way about high diamond 1 most of the time

i dont have dedicated rune page because i dont have enough ip; but basic armor/mres/hp and then apen or flat dmg is preference I heard flat dmg is better but I dont have those

Masteries 0-23-7, unless against lulu then 0-30-0 because lulu can spam harass and you'll need it to win trades

Build start with dorans shield 90% of the time. I rarely go coin except in certain cases where I think I won't need any stats and I wont get autod much, like ezreal/soraka. Soraka will auto me, but the best way to kill soraka is to all in at level 2 because she doesnt really get anything at level 2. Actually I guess you may still go doran shield since its better for pushing.. and its better to have stats for an all in; yeah I pretty much never go coin personally. Every nontargon support will get shurlias though eventually.

Rush sighstone, immediately sell yellow trinket for red. You need to buy what you have enough for, if you have 500g, dont get ruby crystal get the coin and a ward and pots. Pink ward is a luxury early on but if you get a kill early buy one and put it in river or tri. Don't be afraid to pink the lane bush depnding on the matchup either.

Finish coin, get boots, then dpends on enemy team; if they got a lot of CC, rush crucible; if not, default to agies, but most games always get a crucible evne if its after agies. Btw dont upgrade sighstone till you're 6 items because its not worth the gold.

Upgrade red trinket asap for baron/drag control but crucible is more important, but if you go back with just 500g or so left over then get it.

Mid game once you have crucible/agies/shurlias get a giants belt for randuins against most teams.

Finally, dont be stingey with items, use agies to absorb the first aoe spell that hits your back line, crucible the first stun/lockdown on your carry.

Thats all I know about building thresh, if anyone has any suggestions to add/improve I'm interested.

Thresh Masteries really depend on your lane opponent.

I like to go 0/9/21 for extra gold and roaming if my lane is relatively easy but if I know they will poke hard, then I will go with a 4/23/3 build with points in CDR and mana regain.

Either way, Junpei is 100% correct, you should start doran's shield. Coin can come eventually but that shield's stats is amazing on thresh with pretty much all bot lane match ups.

Items you I like to build sightstone, Talisman, boots of lucidity or mobo boots depending on what masteries you took. If you want to roam, get the mobo and if you need that CDR, get the lucidity. CDR is pretty awesome on thresh with his hook because at max level with 40%, you can spam your hook every 4 seconds (I think?) if you hit. This can become a huge nuisance. Anyways, thats the core stuff.

Good items on Thresh include: Randiuns, Banshies, Sunfire, Locket, Crucible. What you take depends on what game you are playing and what your opponent is doing. I can't help much more from here.

For runes, flat armor seals and MR glyphs with atk damage marks. Quints depends on what you want but health and extra armor are always good choices, I go with 2 health and 1 armor.

Most of this is covered by Junpie already though, I just wanted to reiterate what I personally feel is good on him! Enjoy!

DeathNote: I'm curious what situations do you pick sunfire cape? I think that randuins is too OP not to get. Sunfire helps top laners trade better but imo randuins is better for defensive stats/utility.

Yeah one of my mates on the teamspeak (we all come from a different game but play LOL all the time) really taught me a lot, his an ex diamond (who had his account banned lols) but playing with him really got me doing better placement and more catching people out, and i really learned to carry for when i am in my normal games.
