CLG used to run support galio in poke comps. His Q+W is great for poke/kiting, and his ult is a strong counter-engage.

I've won at least 4 games with Varus support/duo, a game with Talon, a game with Wu, Malph, Naut, Olaf, 2 games with Akali, and Reng. These are the games I remember running a non-support bot. I've lost once with Wu and once with Varus, but I've won the others.

Recently in LCS, Edward has taken Kennen bot lane (although him and Genja got poked to death and didn't do much until late game). Mafa, a Korean player, recently went 5/1/10 as support Malph in the OGN. I'm pretty sure as long as you know your champ, and can synergize with your partner in lane, it'll work. Annie has no heals or shields for an ally and she does fine with cc and damage as a tradeoff.

He loses to AD mids but beats most if not all ap

what's so bad about galio? Poke, movement speed buff to whole team, naturaly tanky against APs (who are stronger in this meta than ADs) and an Aoe suppression ult that does damage.

Oh yeah tanky Liss support. Haven't done that in a while but I'm pretty sure I'm undefeated with her in bot lane. She has a strong kit but you can do better for your semi-carry mid lane. Her damage late game is only good against squishies. There's too many tanks these days to consider running comps lacking % current/missing/max hp damage.

For some reason when I first got into league, I thought Galio could fly over walls. He looked like a dragon at first. Glad I don't own him though.

So while I'm waiting for challengers to appear, I'm gonna make a list of best to worst Ult's in the game. I'm gonna exclude Nidalee, Karma, Udyr, Jayce, Elise, and anyone else with a weird not really ult Ult. Actually I'm gonna do it in tiers, not a list.
