I've seen xPeke play her AD and it's fine, but the spells are just too good to ignore just to focus on AD- ActionDan

Why do people who play Ahri find her better as an AP than ADC? I've always played her ADC and it's worked wonders, especially due to her charm attack.I'll give you a moment to let that sink in- BROseidon

Things AD Ahri does well:
Kite. Charm+ult OP as balls.
Things AD Ahri does poorly:
Have damage.
Things AP Ahri does well:
Kite.
Have damage
Roam
Things AP Ahri does poorly:
...
That's why. AD Ahri doesn't have the same damage scaling as other ADC's, even if she has kiting that's not much worse than blue-ezreal's without needing the same item investment. AP Ahri does a shitton of damage (that's burst, which is better), and is super flexible in terms of her landing and roaming power early/mid.- KaleiÐoscøpe

Cause she has AP Ratios, No AD steriod, Has a magic damage steroid, and Has Spell Vamp. In otherwords, because she is designed to be an AP champ. In post 26975, Hiraki wrote:I've started to play this game.

Things you might not have known about Nami's E:
The slow increases with level. Max E first.
While laning, E is usually better to cast on yourself, especially if you have magic penetration runes or masteries. You will be able to deal more damage with it, and your lower attack speed means the target will be slowed for a longer period of time. Of course, do not hesitate to cast it on your ADC if you're not in position to use E.
When used with Lucian's passive, it will proc on both shots. It also procs on Ezreal's Q. It also procs on all bolts shot by Runaan's.
Using E to slow your target makes it much easier to land your stun.
Using E on yourself directly after firing an autoattack (but before it lands) will still cause your auto to proc E.
Your basic combo with Nami is this:
auto
alt-E
auto
Q
W
auto
Wait until your stun ends before using your last E charge so that the target is slowed when he gets out of your stun.I am in the bottom 10% of scumhunters onsite!- Kcdaspot

A lot of higher ELO people say if you can't get gold, you should then you aren't learning anything and don't know anythign about league. I'm not sure if a feel the same way because Gold is the top 15% of people which i think is a good milestone, but if you can't hit silver(which last season was like 75% of all summoners were Silver 5 or higher and pretty much everyone was silver 5) then you really aren't paying attention during your games and you should maybe consider a game with a little less to concentrate on from a macro perspective. In post 26983, Kcdaspot wrote:

i've been thinking a lot about what i did and more importantly didnt accomplish during my league-playing days; i feel like the reason nobody really takes advice and doesnt really realize that theyre awful is because pro-level play doesnt actuallylooklike anything spectacularly difficult (outside of some examples; most of the OGN matches i've watched, for example) - thus the perceived skill gap is lower, thus the impetus to take the advice of more skilled players is lower due to the refusal to admit that the players are actually that skilled in the first place
compare, for example, starcraft; an immensely complex game compared to league (i originally picked up league because i wanted an easier game to make me better at starcraft), so people realize pretty quickly exactly how awful they are compared to pros - this leads to people actually wanting to apply themselves to become better, not to people whining about how they dont deserve their elo and how theyre really better than they actually are, guys!
a lot of this is what hamstrung me; i was generally willing to admit that i was always (with a few exceptions) the weakest player on ONM mechanically by a really significant margin but never willing to do anything about it because i felt my theory knowledge was worth enough; it might very well have been had i been any good at applying it practically while in-game - i was instead never good at that and it showed with the extreme lack of results in the long run once we reached a point where we could no longer get free wins just by being stronger players and were instead just a bunch of people who showed up and maybe got a win from time to time
i personally feel that we all let ourselves rust severely with a lack of solo queue practice - now that i'm going somewhat hardcore on FFXIV and PUGing dungeons for ~14hr days, i'm really beginning to understand the value of that individual practice since it's lead me from being a mediocre casual player into repeated compliments on my healing talents - this is another thing that the silver 5 plateau ignores, it assumes it belongs at a higher elo and they're in "elo hell", so they play less games of solo queue because "it's not worth it", thus they become worse players and in time become their rating
your rating in this game will over time match your skill level, regardless of whether or not you are actually playing it. i assume that if i played my placement matches i would end up somewhere in high bronze, and would greatly deserve to be there.- MrZepher

There have been several people who have landed in silver/low gold after placements after being in upper diamond and I think even a few challenger players.
There are riot people looking into it I believe because that's not right.
I personally have never believed that league's ladder system is an accurate representation of skill level, but just a way for you to monitor your own progress. It's not like Starcraft where the people in bronze/silver ratings rely on their own meta because they're not good enough to play with more skill intensive playstyles.
Also, It turns out that if you focus on taking turrets, and what you're doing that's preventing you from taking turrets, you win more games. It's weird. It's like all these things that I've been learning from diamond and challenger players is irrelevant because I'm in silver and most of the people on my team will have no idea how to take advantage of the fact that I know more than they do (pro-tip, you don't know that much more than the rest of the people on your team).

They added secret sauce to try and bash down Elo-boosted players (Red posts). My bet is it prioritizes long-term performance over sudden gains. So the Diamond 2 guy might have rapidly climbed to Diamond 2 (not necessarily because of Elo boosting) and then remained inactive for some time (perhaps playing on alts) while your friend was probably consistent Gold 2.In post 26988, PJ. wrote:For the record, there's been a guy who went 10/0 in his placements and was diamond 2 last season and he landed in silver, and the flip side is my gold 2 friend went 6/4 in placements and landed in gold 2. No.
Elo IS a great representation of skill lol... with some small error of course at the top
How do I know this? People in tiers below me play like absolute crap (not "my teammates are bad", they rae just genuine unskilled and its clear to me, its like playing with a level 20), and people on tiers above me look at me similarly.
And no, you do not get rusty from not playing solo queue we dont practice/train thats nonsense imo. You just dont know enough about the game. It's all learnable throgh application of what u do know but not everyone is good at learning the game so they dont go up.- Junpei

To add on to this post: people in silver/bronze dont realize this because people in silver look down on bronze so hard they think they're all retarded anyway, so dont consider thta gold feels the same about them, as well as plat. And bronze doesnt realize it becuase there's no one below them lolIn post 26994, Junpei wrote:No.

People in silver arent just bad at focusing on adjectives/peeling.
They're terrible at SPACING, TRADING, CSING, EFFECIENT PLAY, ATTACK MOVING, KITING, WARDING (and not only where, but how; like what walls, edges etc), BUILDING ITEMS, TEAM FIGHTING, etc etc
I dont want to seem like a jerk but you have to realize how incredibly inefficient you are playing. There's a reason that high elo adc chunks you to 10% as soon as you get to lane. I have a good friend who went from bronze 2 to plat 5. He was trash when he was bronze, but learned the game because he's smart and kept applying what he knew to come up with more rules/playstyle factors.- Bub Bidderskins

If you are in silver and don't know why you are in silver, then you belong in silver.
I'm silver partially because I haven't played enough, but mostly because I oftentimes make very bad decisions that cost our team and fail to capitalize on mistakes my opponents make.ShowTotal: 16/15/1

I think Junpei failed to recognize that I was using sarcasm to employ a point.
I understand perfectly why I'm in silver and how to get out. I just don't play ranked enough to do it.
I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying that at the lower elo's the little things don't make as big of a difference because the rest of your team doesn't benefit whereas at higher elo's you need to focus on yourself because the rest of your team will be focusing on the macro-game as well.or something like that.... - MrZepher
