preference to play scum/town/neutral?

this question is more general based that frost and nacho could answer as well but also want o hear your perosnal opinion on.

i read somewhere that citizens (VT as you call it) fake-claiming/gambiting is frowned on here. what is your take on it. this pretains back to gambits as well. are there any scnarios where town should do things like thta os is it a "never-do" thing

1) I like gambits, tho im not usually very good at pulling them, see this game on Day 2 how i accidentally[1] faked a cop inno on my strongest townread, and due to his reaction he became conftown-like for me.
2) Since like a week or 2 before my join date here.
3) Preference as Town.

[1]I made a read that said "Innocent until proven otherwise" on Cabd, which Cabd thought it was a cop inno, it wasn't it's just that i had a strong townread on him, but that reaction is what strengthened the read on me. Ironically the real cop had an inno on me...

Also fake-claiming as town is ok as long as you retract it with enough time (reaction testing), but if you keep at it, then yeah it's p.bad even if you're right.
Gambits are ok imo.

Well weekend's coming hopefully i can hear from Nacho and he starts showing me his PoV and I can start working with him and Ray since those 2 are my strongest reads atm. And then we form a nice happy townbloc and PoE the hell out of scum and win \o\ \o/ /o/

Reason I linked that thread was to try and express just how negative my opinion of fakeclaiming anything other than vt as town is (being a pr and claiming vt in the hopes of being able to later be like SURPRISE because you feel confident you can push back your lynch is a completely viable idea provided you actually have a shot at it: I have a game I'd link where this happened, but I don't remember the game and don't feel like searching. Search for "sol" post author via threads or something and look for somewhat oldish newbie game idr)

Also Nacho said his work week ended so he should be able to post a lot. I'd give him a day.
