I need to work on my mid lane play... playing squishy champions is something i just havent figured out.

So I am looking for someone to 1v1 with. I am like bronze 5 in this role.

Liss (if you have time), annie, karth, swain, zyra perhaps, in order? Things with big aoe, quite a bit of aoe cc, tendency to be on the tanky side rather than assassinating people in some of those. Karth is a bit of an oddball perhaps, but at least he doesn't particulary worry about getting killed in teamfights and his role in teamfights is alike a tank (you want to stand in the middle of them looking very threatening).

Not every champion in mid is leblanc And it's maybe my opinion, but if you like galio, liss might be an enjoyable champ for you. Big aoe cc, cc ult, waveclearing Q with a slow,

and a skill that puts her in the middle of the opposing team

The big 3 champs to learn mid are

Ziggs
Gragas
Orianna

Those champs are solid picks in any team comp. Good wave clear, solid early games, solid teamfight, good burst and good sustained damage. Ziggs and Ori also give really good team utility.

alternatively, learn an assassin or two.

You get either Orianna or Gragas. You can't be good at both lol. The tradeoff is that they'll never not be good picks.

What should I be building on support annie?

you need talisman, sightstone and (usually) mobi boots on any support.

annie: you build sorcs instead. Rylais DFG and a void staff make up the rest of your items.
Rylais is your situational item. I just like the hp and the aoe slow bear. makes it easier to give people hugs.

also because I've seen this in most of my ranked games in the last couple of days:

Start doran's while it's still a retarded item (start with ward trinket). save gold until you can back to get the upgraded coin and then go for sightstone, and then trade in yellow trinket for red. Get talisman and boots. You don't need to upgrade sightstone unless you REALLY need the hp or the extra ward (protip: you don't).

Don't start red trinket on support. The early yellow trinket wards don't last long enough to warrant the cd. Trade them out later.
I personally just upgrade the yellow trinket with the vision upgrade since most junglers take the red trinket. The pink ward is nice when the enemy support decides to spam wards at an objective like a dick.

I played support annie for the first time yesterday!

I totally failed at building her properly. Started dshield, went into coin > shurelyas, then went straight AP build (ROA, zhonya's, game over). Totally spaced on a sightstone cause I haven't played SR in a month or two. >_> But I enjoyed the play of it, and you can have a lategame impact on the game as a support more easily than with other supports, IME.

My build for support Annie at this point is Coin -> Sightstone-> Sorc. Boots -> Talisman -> DFG -> Void Staff/RD -> Zhonya's or MR if ahead. If behind I swap out the Staff/RD for more tanky items. By behind, I mean behind by a sizeable margin - if slightly behind, you can still nuke down targets pretty well to make up for it.

Agreed with not starting red trinket. What I do is grab the red trinket when I get my sightstone.

Also, memorize how much everything costs. There's nothing worse than wasting time either sitting in fountain or making another trip to lane and back to fountain because you hit b 30 gold too soon. This applies to any role, really.

Memorize how much basic items cost, but don't worry about how much each individual upgrade along each item path costs. You'll learn common ones over time just by repetition, but it's not difficult nor time-consuming to find the time to press p to check the shop and see how much gold you need.

I was wondering if that ever happened because that seems like it could be effective (provided people listen)

Only thing you need to memorize is how much BF Sword cost. Boom. Ad Carry easiest role.

@Maestro and any other new player in thread: Stop trying to have decent players teach you shitty gimmicks. Yes you can funny fuck someone into losing lane to you because they have no idea what they're doing but it's a lot better to learn the basic of the game and what you should be doing AND practicing a higher tier champ at the same time. THIS WILL GIVE YOU BETTER RESULTS. Gimmicks are for GOOD players. Not bad ones. Once you reach a base level of compeetency then you can give a gimmick a shot.

Top- Why no Darius or Garen?
Jungle- I personally find Rammus underwhelming atm.

Darius and garen are not generically good tops. They serve a specific purpose (garen especially).

Panzer gives a good baseline list. Of course, there are other champions and things, but the list he gives is pretty solid overall (only things I really disagree with are rammus and katarina). Adding more and more champions to the list kind of defeats the point of the list.
