I have a lot of ideas for themes that could be cool to play in. But the one that I'm hoping to run some day is "Stephen King's Collective Mafia" based on as many Stephen King books and stories as I can fit into it.

It'll probably be a long time until I'll be able to run it, but it would be nice to know if there would be enough interest in that kind of theme for me to start working on the setup yet.

Well, that's good to know MeMe. I've actually been working on the setup. In fact, I might be done with it, but since I've never run a game before, I don't know if it's balanced or if it's too much in favor of anyone, so I'd probably eventually need someone to look it over. Of course, then, it would probably still be a while since I think I remember reading somewhere you have to have moded a regular or mini before you can mod a themed. And I'm about two months down on the mini regular list  .

But look forward to it sometime in the [likely, not so near] future!

I'd be interested in Sluggy and/or matrix mafia (just as long as there isn't smith smith smith etc).

Have also been thinking about Ender's Game/Ender's shadow mafia
Munchkin mafia would be cool, wouldn't mind helping out with that or sluggy.

Or, would anyone be interested in an Exalted mafia at all? (for those who don't know, Exalted is a table-top rpg game put out by white-wolf--very cool)

mel: I love your nice ordered rules...

I think it might be interesting to play, but I wonder whether the mafia are at a bit of a disadvantage having to pick a time frame when people might not be asleep...

I'd like to present an *idea* for a game, the roles and such aren't worked out, but the game mechanism is like this: (it's a bit complicated and has some bugs, so lemme know how it could be altered).

There would be two mafias, and in order to lynch them, the town would have to do two different commands. For example, there could be a witch mafia and a clown mafia. The witches would only be killed by water, and the zombie killed by a pie to the face (or something. Like I said, the roles aren't worked out). The town could make two lynches a day, one pie-ing and one water-ing. I would probably make it so the mafia could kill eachother, and of course the mafia would have to be fairly weak.

I would also have to do something about the fact that the town might lynch two townies a day and die fast, and there's the issue of once a mafioso fails to be lynched, you know it's the other mafia. Post your suggestions. I know it's a rough idea.
Holy crap, I forgot this site existed.

*drools for Stephen King Mafia*

I have three ideas:
1. Neopets Mafia (I have this set up and everything, I'm just waiting for my modding spot, It's a mini)
2. Minnesota Mafia (Mini, most likely)
3. Crayola Mafia (This would be a massively long Themed game featuring a massive amount of crayola colors.)
rolandofthewhite (5:40:28 PM): It would be weird living with Thesp. All the hookers murdered and skin lying around. :(

By the way PBuG, are you from Minnesota? Cuz I'm a Minnesotan, and think it would be kinda cool to play in a game based on the area I know so well.

I had an idea for a themed mafia (yeah, I know I haven't even modded a normal yet, I just wanted to sound out the idea :)) - Duellists Mafia.

It'd basically be normal rules, but with the twist that everyone would be duellists, and know (roughly) their pecking order in the town ("You are without a doubt one of the top three duellists in the town.", etc). Instead of voting to lynch a player, players must challenge each other to duels and then vote on the matchup they want enacted at dusk (so a challenge would effectively be a first vote). The catch is that once the majority support a duel, either the challenger or the challenged could die depending on their relative skills.

Has anything like this been tried before? Would people play it? :)

You betcha, gslamm. There are a couple hundred crayola colors, several of which have been "retired" from normal boxes.

Yep. I've lived in Minnesota all my life. Currently I'm living in Minneapolis.

Anyway..... I wouldn't use all Crayola colors, probably the 25 most popular. Number one is blue :)

Don't think so, sounds interesting. But I see a potential breaking strategy. It seems as though everyone could claim their ranking, and then logically deduce the mafia simply from that(we know for sure that the number one duelist isn't mafia). Unless combat relationships are not entirely transitive. Then everything I've just said goes out the window.
