Tell me how you feel about these three players: The Fox and The Hound, MagentaTheGreat, Penguin_Alien. I'd like to hear what your reads on them are and reasoning why - more detail the better.

Orc's reasoning is pretty much what I've said.

I don't recall mara reaching out to anyone I would have expected her to reach out to which bugs me. I feel like they've just kinda been "oh tell me your age" and nothing else. Going back to how Orc did his D1 thing, with the govern. I didn't like how he approached it. I feel like town-him would have approached it as a chance to put two strong scumreads in there to duke it out. Instead, he picks a townread and a lurker. Although I don't know Orc's history regarding PLs, the fact he said something like "today will be a PL lynch or no lynch" bugs me because it's like he knew he was town and put them both together. And I don't like how he came in "well it's his fault he got lynched we could have NL'd" It's just blech

Fox and the Hound had some early posts I found really transparent and I can go back and get them for you tomorrow. I really liked them because i could totally see what they were thinking and it's actually kind of rare. For example, when they were shocked at the scumreads. That read genuine.

Clyton was a nulltownread of Brian's. He said he could go either way, but I opted to town because I tend to opt people who I'm not totally paranoid of and like to work with to town, so I made my reach out accordingly. While I am bugged at her lack of activity today, I did like some of her venom when I challenged her null read on me. I feel like that venom about me challenging select peoples reads is more likely to come from town (hi beliffery). Town who had sat through this tense game where potshots were flying and people were in pissing battles and suddenly, this person who hasn't been here all fucking game comes and challenges your reads? I don't know who wouldn't be pissed off as town. That being said, I'm not sure I like how she was careful to leave a backdoor open with her "I'll wait to judge until you catch up" bit. I'm not going to pretend I'm an expert at reading PA.

Also, did I miss something about ffery being spoiled?

I'm conflicted. If someone I'd never seen before came out and started playing like mastin has in this game, I would lynch them instantly. Objectively, I think their posts are scummy. They never give reasons for their suspicions, and when they do the reasons are explained really poorly, which is odd for someone who manages to post so many words. I've felt like they were trying to stuff CF into a scumbox at times just like they are accusing CF of doing to them. And I really don't like it when someone has a scumread on me yet can't give one solitary passable reason for it except to quote my posts and add the logical equivalent of "ew". But this is mastin. Spectating Vesperia I had him wrong early on for very similar reasons, and was never able to convince myself the slot was town even when I started getting reasons to. On the one hand, my gut is telling me she's scum, and I've been slowly discovering that my gut is better than my head lately, though in theory having DV's head too should be helping (and, I'm somewhat confident, already is). On the other, players who know mastin better than I do are calling her town and seem to feel pretty strongly about it. And when I've been in situations like that in the past, I have usually been wrong. (I'm also wrong more often than a RNG I'm pretty sure, but whatever. I should go back through my games someday and find out whether this is literally true.)

Yes, confliction is a great way to avoid giving a read on someone. But look at the whole thought process behind it. "If it wasn't mastin I would lynch them" which shows the selfdoubt, which is constantly hit on (such as the vesperia quote), and it shows some of the reasonings why there was a scumread in the first place, yet says why they aren't positive on it. At the end, where it's like "People who know her better are townreading her so i'm just going to trust them" it's like what I did regarding nacho in wicked, I sheeped mollie's read on him. It's also a convenient way to avoid suspicion.

what sucks about is day two, before anyone questioned it, voted them anything, one them came in and was if anyone thinks that was fake or votes us you're crazy...or something like that. I'd find the quote but grading and not thinking, but it twitched twitched twitched.

Also, the cognitive dissonance coming from that slot from pretty much the entire game is afuckingstounding if they're somehow town. Which, I'm sorry, I respect Bro's game just a little too much to think there's a snails chance in hell they're town at this point. (I might be exaggerating on how sure I am they're scum, but damn the mental hoops I have to do to call them town is pretty fantastic right now.)

Also, as far as the breakdown, nice little story, couple years ago I was mafia offsite and when pushed I had the motherloads of breakdowns. It was totally real (and way more believable than me saying I was crying when I actually was in Too Many Heads about something other than the game.) Only thing was I found out my grandfather died in the middle of the game. Breakdown? Totally fucking real. Didn't mean I was town.

So, yeah, I don't think it was fake, but I also don't think they're town.

In other news, I also changed my mind and think Nacho might be scum again. Oh ho ho though that's nothing new.

The first paragraph is like

"You've never misread me when we're both town and you're misreading me here... what?" along with that bit at the end about whiteknighting. You can feel the paranoia. But it always ends with this sharp annoyance, both at the end of the first sentence and end of the paragraph.

Second one

The paranoia regarding how nacho interacts with them after being snowed (hm sounds familiar (utility lynch nacho everygame(fucking nacho))).

Third one

I don't like the word honestly at the end of this (liars tell etc etc) but otherwise I like that it's that open confusion about the scumread

NotScience, what do you make of the fact that Orc wasn't really following the game at the time he was lynched? I figured town not engaged with the game would be more likely to put in a lurker instead of a scumread since they are not as invested in any particular player dying. Also, I am looking at his role as similar to a vengeful townie except he doesn't die but kills someone else. Also, did you notice his attempt to talk to Ffery during the cagefight? It felt like he put Stalin up there so he could talk to her, but it bothers me that he didn't really spend a lot of time talking to her D2 or sharing reads.

Penguin is on V/LA right now so I wouldn't say that her lack of activity is alignment indicative. I am really conflicted about whether to townread her attacks on me and Mastin because it fits her town meta and she has recently become aware of it. I also leaned town on her aggression with you when you showed up in the game and asked to be townread and part of her tone reads as townish to me. I want to wait to see what comes out of it though. The one thing I don't like is the way she pushed the hell out of Mastin while brushing aside concerns that Mastin and AP were partnered and focussed almost entirely on Mastin. The next day she comes back with a leaning scum on AP and a full out attack on me. Obviously, this is somewhat predicated on AP being scum. I guess I expected her to have better reads as well. Most times I've seen her, she's nailed the hell out of scumteams (Mini 1516 which I modded, and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and her reads made a lot more sense and were more inline with mine).

I do like the early FoxHound post you brought up and it resonated a lot with me when I still thought Mastin was scum. I don't know, they could be town. Something I'll re-evaluate later.

I don't see how jsu are so town it hurts. They've claimed they have to be read as town cuz breakdown, while ignoring other breakdowns. They've claimed you have to be town cuz sustainability while suspecting me. And when I point out the logical leap, des actually cites too many heads in which I got busted day one, did nothing, had two modkills, as evidence for my sustainability as scum while ignoring your wicked game.
