First things first, Don't say "fucko", that shit is trademarked by Team Toxic. In post 32045, Maestro wrote:IMO, U.R.F. had what most of the rest of League is missing: an exciting, positive, pressure-free, toxicity-free (e.g. FUN) environment. Every single game mode I've played, with the exception of Co-Op vs. AI Dominion, has had toxic players, annoying fuckos, stupid teamcomps, and everything that comes with those...often enough to make U.R.F. stand out by comparison. U.R.F. was more enjoyable than any other game mode ever could be, simply because of its fun-value. That, and it was an enjoyable way to see "oh this is how this champ would work" kit-wise while not having to worry about stupid mana or cooldowns until later on in the learning process.
Second, exciting is subjective. I find this: http://community.na.leagueoflegends.com ... eset-party to be far more exciting than U.R.F could ever be. Because that was done with the chips on the table and as the game is balanced and intended to work. The champs are not balanced for infini-mana + 80% CDR. Why do you think they had to ban like 15 champs and the game mode still wasn't balanced. You were still seeing the same team comps/lane strats in every game. Lux/Morg fucking ran shit. It's not fun getting smoked by the same OP champs over and over again. Also I don't for a second that it was toxicity free or pressure free seeing as I had to report 2+ people everytime I played URF. It seemed that all the people who didn't know how to play SR very well were piling into URF and "trolling". Just as all non-SR game modes, it was entertaining for people who didn't know how to play but great for newer/bad players. The worst part, is it had bleed into regular SR because people were so used to increased CD's they were playing siginificantly worse without URF activated. URF was awful as is dominian one for all and aram., Remove all non-ranked playable game modes.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- Iecerint

At least at first, I felt like URF was about thinking about how the new mechanics worked with your champion, thinking OMG OP MUST TRY, then trying it and finding it amazing, only to discover the Brand perma-stun, or the Blitz perma-stun, or some other hilarious thing. Then you would try that and see another interesting interaction with the rules, and so on.
Most of the team chat seemed to revolve around "lol blitz" or "lol brand" and people enjoying the wacky rules.
But I have to say that I only really played it much the first week. It may have become really serious and stagnant after the experimental stage ended and people started to take it really seriously.- Saki

I had a number of friends that only played URF while it was out and the ones that only played it when with the former group of people.
The first group never really gave a shit about anything.
The second group were die-hard keyboard warriors determined to get to their next series.retired

Been struggling through silver 4, finally got to promos.
First game, two players had a slight argument over support, one says "if you're good you do it" and the other locks teemo. So, joy of joys, I'm quinn adc with a teemo support. Teemo support is such a troll pick... but at least he played it standard support.
Second game, another guy calls support, locks teemo with smite and teleport and then spends the whole game in their jungle and NEVER goes botlane.
So yeah, I'm now silver 3.- Klazam

That actually sounds.. effective- remove their jungler permanently at the cost of bot lane, but being able to win mid and top hard with jung support- Maestro

As soon as the enemy team realizes what's happening, with good warding and timing they can shut it down pretty hard - but I do think that's how Bot games should be played more often. People sometimes rage at me when I call jungler in a bot game, saying "herpderp you should go top" but really if you're thinking economically and about the different revenue sources per player per game (hint: there're only 4) it's useful to KNOW you have the entire other jungle that you can use if you want to. Not sure why people don't more often but there you go.- BROseidon

I meant more what Dayne said; not so much "how long can I sustain vs. / can I duel this guy" but "k so can I do this with her this and then that OK that's cool so that would work similarly without mana and the CD would be longer but this could still work etc." while being in a much less competitive environment mostly filled with people who're "pressing buttons" just as much as I was.- AngryPidgeon

Well, I was jungle shyvana and basically gave no help at any point in the game beyond tankiness in fights for the superfed riven.
We kinda invade-poked at level 1 and everyone but their jungler rushed out to try kill us. Like, if they'd supported the jungler at all, at any point, we were screwed. As it was, both mid and top got ahead and bot didn't go badly and their jungler was basically a non-presence.
His initial gambit was teleport to mid turret and then RUN to blue before the enemy team could and use teemo passive to hide in their blue buff until the smite. Then he did the same at red but missed the smite. He got like NO experience doing this, but who gives a crap about experience on a teemo, but it worked because both top and mid got really far ahead.- Glork

Yeah, practicing his W->Q every few seconds is much easier than doing it every 15-20 seconds. And it's in a (generally) less serous situation where fucking it up repeatedly won't ruin your experience. In post 32061, Ser Arthur Dayne wrote:Well it was good to learn for example, Alistar's combo quickly, etc.
Or if you just wanted to practice flying around the map with Lee Sin, etc.- Maestro

Because in a real game, you die going into the enemy jungle. And why are you calling a jungler in a bot game? Why are you playing bot games? Why is someone jungling in a bot game?In post 32058, Maestro wrote:As soon as the enemy team realizes what's happening, with good warding and timing they can shut it down pretty hard - but I do think that's how Bot games should be played more often. 4. Because they want to...?
Why do you have a problem with bot games / why is it a problem to jungle in them?- Scarab

I think he objected to your saying that that's "how Bot games should be played more often" and then explaining basics of League of Legends. Panzer, in case you haven't noticed, feels rather strongly that true League of Legends skill is demonstrated through beating other real players in "real" game modes (i.e. relatively balanced PvP game modes) and probably felt insulted that you were acting as though your bot game experience made you some sort of authority on how anything "should be played".Copyright © MafiaScum.
