What is this, the 5th time you've said my name and "suspicious" or "scum" in the same sentence? I'll have you know that I probably out game you by about 20 games, and "fishing for answers" is a form of scum hunting and a town tell.

And if you still feel that a question is a legitimate answer to another question, consider this;

Ask: "What is the largest state in the U.S.?"
Response: "What would a person smarter than me say?"

Not. Acceptable.

I am now FoSing you.
I have also noticed, singersigner, that you have been asking a lot of questions (rightfully so as the IC), but are hesitant to provide much personal insight into the situation at hand? Any reason behind doing so?

I'm also town reading singer for the same reason you are perplexed.

Funny you don't say the same thing for aphix's "Azns be good at figuring out math" joke. Maybe because nobody scum read aphix but some did me?

@Bull
If you were hammered right now, and got a chance to give your opinion on who is scum instead of just a bah post, what advice would you want to give?

Do not claim or anything crazy though pls. Just wondering what your final words would be. After all, there is a possibility you could be lynched today.

I already said I scum read Forever and math, like I explained before. I also FoS'd Flubber, but now that I think about it more, his behaviour is actually inline with a "noble noob," if you know what I mean. You and math could be scum buddies, since you two both voted for me and then math immediately distanced himself from you once I scum read the votes. I town read singer. Everyone else is null.

So I don't get it, were you trying to be funny? What information did you hope to gain by asking a non-question?

I supposed I'll say it now..

Asking questions is not my usual meta. I read some other games and saw "Random questioning stage" in addition to "Random voting stage," and I thought it was pretty reasonable, so I decided to try it out. A self-referential question was the first "clever" thing I could think of so I put it there to get reactions. As scum, I wouldn't answer that question or explain why it's pointless; as town I'd probably give some sort of infinite loops answer or something. I'm not sure what to expect anymore after the couple of answers I got though.

Now that I've explained it it's probably pointless to try to answer it further.

Perhaps one of us is using the term "fishing for answers" wrong. To me, "fishing for answers" is trying to strong arm someone into answering a question in a way you want them to, as opposed to trying to read the answers given to specific questions.

Also, if people stopped asking the same questions I wouldn't repeat myself.

This example is a straw man, because the response is trying to direct the most rigorous answer to some third party. However, with questions that have more abstract answers, a question can encapsulate a concept more concisely, and often more elegantly, than a direct statement. Consider a more classic example of a question answered with a question:

There's billions of people in the world, so why did some event happen to me of all people?
If not you, then who?

For someone that has 20+ games over me, I'm sensing a lot of confirmation bias over a disagreement rooting in semantics. I'm not here to argue with you; I'm here to lynch mafia.

To my 20 games:

I've played a lot of games on other sites, and a lot of games live. Been playing mafia for 2 years. I registered more than a year ago on this site but never got to signing up. I'm starting in a newbie game because I'm new on this site and mafia culture varies wildly across different sites. I explained this in the "introductions" thread but I don't feel like going and finding it.

With post I'm honestly fine with lynching flubbernugget. I don't see a misquote like that happening on accident, and I don't think is use of lingo really does what he was planning on it doing. Doesn't really look like town slipping up so much as an attempt to really nail it to some one that really failed.

Although considering it's an account with very few posts, considering it's a newbie slot that's not a replace in probably not an alt. Just someone from a different site.

If you thought I was strong arming a specific response, then you are exhibiting symptoms of paranoia. I asked a question. I expressed (jokingly too) concern over an answer whose format woul usually be seemed unacceptable as a legitimate answer.

I wouldn't answer a question when it isn't asked either.

Your response did in fact in a way redirect the answer to a third party. "What everybody would say..." Something like that. But that is irrelevant. Redirecting the response in anyway is not a legitimate answer, unless done so sarcastically. There is no strawman, and your argument is unsound.

Your example is essentially my example. I'm not exactly sure if that question has a religious undertone and therefore a standard answer. But at face value, the response is unhelpful at best to the original answer. If not you, ten the billions of other people mentioned in the question, of course.

I'm here to lynch mafia too. Unfortunately, we aren't told who the mafia are. I don't expect us to be effective at finding mafia if no arguments go down, as you seem to be suggesting you want to happen.

Not irrelevant. As you took out the middle of his post. You didn't include anything in there to indicate you modified his post. He quoted you, responded. Quoted you. Responded. You instead took out his first response and the second quote of yours and just tried to pass it off as him responding awkwardly to the first quote?

Ninja'd Bullish hit the nail on the head.

For the record I'll include links. Post is original by bullish. Post is Nugget's version of the quote. Regardless of the exact reasoning it never looks good to modify someone words without indicating you are doing so.
