Teemo is a terrible champion to start with.

His kit minus his ult IS easy to use, because it doesn't do anything. His ult is really, REALLY hard to use well. It might work when the enemy team is new enough to not realize that it's the team with more nexuses instead of more kills who wins, but that's a very low limit and it's also a teemo-unique pattern and you won't get much out of it for other champions.

Sure, he counters top laners for a time, but it's hard to do and then you get wrecked when they get their ults and you just have mushrooms.

On other stuff, I'm pretty sure leona is 4800.

Well, specifically, the more popular/most meta supports right now are:

Thresh
Morgana
Leona
Braum
Lulu
Nami

Doesn't necessarily mean they are the strongest or the likeliest to help you win the game. Of that list, only morg, leona and nami do well (though obviously lulu's lolking stats are contaminated). As if you could only win games as support by buying a 6300 champ.

First off, it seems ridiculous to say that Thresh doesn't do well as a support.

Second off, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that there are a number of good quality 6300 supports, and by comparison, very few low cost supports that are worth learning. In other roles, there is decent depths at each price point. For example, if you want to AD Carry... you've got Ashe & Sivir to learn the basics at 450, Tristana @ 1350, Corki/Twitch @ 3150, Cait/Ez/Kog/Vayne @ 4800. If you want to support with a viable champion, you've got... Janna/Morg @ 1350, Sona @ 3150, and Leona @ 4800. Much less variety and depth without dumping 6300 on a champion.

We're talking about champions to play to learn the mechanics of the game, and Teemo shrooms passively teach you lane vision/controlling ganks, and his kit lets you just focus on last hitting and moving around.

I'll be saving the IP for the rune pages probably. (yes i know not to worry about runes till i can buy the really good ones way higher levels)

Mid - Karthus, Morgana, Malzahar, Xerath, Ziggs
Bot - Ashe, Ezreal, Caitlyn, Vayne, Tristana

Remove Xerath, Ziggs, Ezreal, and Vayne from this list (possibly Ryze, too, since I think he's a lot harder to play than the skill floor suggests)

$60 isn't as much as you think it is in League.

$50 is 7200 RP.

Buying every champion at full price costs around 85,000 RP, or about $550. If you can get them on sale, you're looking at a little less than $300.

Granted, some people don't want every champion... but even a single 6300 IP champion will cost you 975 RP.

Been learning and practicing Lee Sin, Evelynn, and Nunu ever since I got jungle for my ranked 5s team. I was pleasantly surprised on how fun Lee sin can be, the play potential is ridiculous.

i am excited for cabd games. also, dont need to spend any kind of money. i had more than enough IP for full set of runes at lvl 20, plus had purchased like 4 champs at full price (with IP), which was enough to cover any lane.

@Cabd:There's a huge difference between learning any other role and support. Learning support first means your more keen to know where to ward, knowing when to go in, map awareness, etc. Personally, I think it's fine to learn support first

if

you're also praticing cs'ing (among other things), so you don't get completely left behind in other roles.

Same goes for anything else, really - if you're learnnig top lane, you should be practicing things that top laners don't do all that often sometimes. Also, I sent you a friend request.

You should start with a mid or adc if you want to switch to support (mid teaches mechanics for things that aren't Taric-/Ali/Leona, adc teaches how 2v2 lanes work)

Malz is a bad starting champ. Annie mid is a really good place to start.

I honestly think support is eh role to learn first. If you look at low level games, there are rarely supports anyways (at least when I played. "supports", if there were support champs, built damage and tried to get kills). At first, worry about learning how to kill, how to not die, how to cs, how to hit skillshots, how to build effectively. Warding, timers, and other things supports keep track of are important, but are a little advanced for new players to take in right away.

from the way i learned, i agree with this. my first champ was ADC (sivir). It's a very easy way to grasp other aspects of the game because there is not as much (imo) to keep track of. i think other positions require a lot more responsibility and expectation of greatness that takes time to figure out.

I said, "what is support?"
he said, "Oh. Follow me around, heal me, give me mana, ward and do what I say. Also, never hit minions."
I proceeded to do this until I was lvl 20. Then I bought Lulu and was happy.
