Very bizarre behaviour from the maokai.

He's the only guy left in the midlane after a fight, the entire enemy team is up and they're coming towards midlane through wards.

I ping him to back, he clears the minions, then he starts walking towards the enemy team?
I spamping him, then focus on myself... ten seconds later he's dead.

I look at where he died and... he died in the middle of the enemy team...

Asking "what the hell?" leads to "Don't **** ping me ****. You're irrelevant. I'm the reason you're winning."

To be fair, i get annoyed at people pinging the obvious (IE pinging me to back while i'm trying to run back, or pinging me to back when someone just came into vision and i'm clearly already running) but that sounds like just an everyday ping.

Lore retcon is fine, the whole concept of "summoners" is a bit abstract, especially when you never see anything summoner related and you don't have a little summoner matchbox car garage or whatever where you store your army of little men who you bang together to make fight. I can see a huge uprising from the extremely vocal minority of those who love lore, because they are the types to do that. The only time you really see a "summoner" is I guess the little guys who pray into the inhibitors or whatever they are doing? Who even knows, get rid of those guys too.

I play factions (I like the concept of restricted champ pools and specific comps), I could give a shit about the lore, I don't know most of it, and really however you slice it, the "lore" boils down like this: noxus = dark colors, skulls, angry people. demacia = bright colors, "justice", angry people. Piltover is "technomancy" or steampunk or something else I don't want to know about, yordles are hamsters, it's really just aesthetics.

Anyway to add slightly to the "how to carry out of bronze" convo that is always going on in some form or another and that I've written thousands of words on: Stop trying to "out-think" your bronze opponents. They aren't thinking. They are idiots. Don't give them one ounce of respect.
Stop worrying about if they are "baiting" or "tricking" or whatever retard magic you think they have up their sleeves. Walk into lane and beat they bronze ass. That's it. If you're losing trades, you're doing it wrong. The ONLY thing you should need to worry about in a bronze lane is a gank, even then you should be comfortably ahead so if you get ganked you could kill someone, and even if you have to back out for a few creeps you'll maintain your lead. You should be glancing at the minimap ALL THE TIME. Can you drive a car? Do you do it completely without mirrors? I'm sure B5s are the equivalent of the people who blind merge into traffic, but they aren't weeded out as quickly in league. Watch your mirrors, generally try to keep track of which way the jungler went and make sure you still see faces in the other lanes.

Are you being absolutely destroyed in lane? You need to improve before you rank up, or (hopefully more likely) you're facing off vs a smurf/boost job. The easiest way to check if you're being smurfed and not just being a delusional idiot is to check the person's lolking. Did they just rattle off seven ranked wins a row with a score of 10-2 each time? That's a smurf. Are they losing half their games and dying a ton? You're bronze, get better.

I get miffed only when people spam back pings when I'm already in the middle of going b.

I'm two/three seconds away from being in base while backing in a bush and their entire team has shown on the map in a ward five seconds away from being able to come within range of flashing for me. Why the fuck do you need to spend your entire ping reserve on me?

Aside from that, I don't really get bothered by them.

Honestly one thing I recommended to a bronze friend that has helped him is to create a notepad page with champions in each role that he can play very well (and learn what each of them counters, which out of the ones listed is correct to pick in different situations, etc), and only play out of that pool. And open that every time you're in champ select. It helps you focus during champ select SOOO much. Because what ends up happening in lower elo is people sometimes people just pick champions based on "hunches", etc.

Here's an extremely good example (might or might not be biased because it's mine )

TOP: Ryze, Fiora, Tryndamere, Malphite, Wukong
JUNGLE: Amumu, Fiddle, Wukong, Rammus, Shaco, Hecarim
MID: Karthus, Malzhar, Fizz, Soraka, Zilean, Talon
ADC: Lucian
Support: Morgana, Zyra, Braum, Brand, Zilean, Karma

BANS: WW, Braum, Maokai, Zed, Tristana, Alistar, Fizz, Yasuo, Leona

some of it is a little outdated (raka mid being the obvious one) but you get the point.
also obviously have a main position (ex i play about 90% mid, and then 95% of it is either Karthus or Talon right now).

People who v-ping me while I'm being chain cc'd by their missing laner and the jungler are the only ones who make me yell at them out loud, even if they can't hear me.
I empty the ping clip on objectives I want to do, since anything less than 5 pings on the dragon means, "no go ahead and get those wraiths you stupid fuck, might as well smite the big one too, we def don't need you to help control this objective" to the less-developed senses of a jungler. Also an ADC who lost lane/is behind on cs won't leave an unsafe position unless the pings outnumber the cs in a 2:1 ratio.

People who ping towers I'm attacking are perplexing but it doesn't bother me. Some streamer a while back said to always drop a ping on the jungler when you see him, because it gets people in the habit of tracking them and used to ping = guy here. On the whole I wish people would ping more, I have a tendency when I'm facing a really mobile midlaner to over-ping I guess, which presents its own problem when people's lizard brains just identify you as "guy who pings too much" and ignore the ping that leads to a double in bot. FUCK NOOB MID NO SS NOOB FUCK Sometimes I miss the brasilineros.

I really like this suggestion, and I've been trying to do something like this - though I'll admit I don't always know which champion from my list is right for a situation. Any chance you could take a look at my current list and help me out with figuring out the cases for when to pick what?

after those there's already a noticable drop in quality. Next to these there's a set of second rate champions that can be useful even when you expect to lose, that are if possible easy to play. Only one of those for adc, so trist got to be in this list, but being adc is a lost cause. So all in all that's a grand total of 7 champions that I am actually confident in that I can play well, that I know the matchups for, the way of playing, which trades I win.
