IIRC the Shadow Isles event was around the revamp of the Twisted Treeline. Lots of Twisted Treeline champions got new lore, the treeline itself was retconned to have a different backstory, and so on.

The Freljord event was around the release of the Howling Abyss and saw some of those champions' lore get fleshed out, especially Lissandra.

If you go to the LOL wiki and click on backstory for the champions, all old lore is readable if applicable.

Manamune seems highly irregular on sona. So does lichbane on support sona, but he had enough money to justify that one more.

It has like 0 direct references to lol in the song. If it weren't from the music video and a couple lines at the intro it could be about nearly anything, and those lines just make it clear its about a game.

Uh. So? ID probably still wanted it to be marketable beyond League, which I would totally understand and which it totally is, since it's such an amazing track. Love their stuff.

Lucian is so strong. I always knew that but playing with him for the first time made me realize how broke that passive is. He can farm for days and duel most everyone.

I suck so bad at ADC so if I can do well with lucian, then he has to be good.
