Is it just me or are assist streaks absolutely broken right now? I've been playing a decent amount of Sona and J4 lately, who are basically free assist machines, and I don't remember nearly having this much gold before.

Yes. That reason being that the "thorn" character (correctly rendered as þ, often rendered as "y" in imitations of Middle English (as in "ye olde whatever"), pronounced "th" (thus making "ye olde whatever" correctly pronounced as "the old whatever")) has been all but lost to time, replaced sometimes with the "th" construct and sometimes as "f", with the original root, þlasken, having its þorn replaced with an F.

Unfortunately, my þ key is too far away from my other fingers to put þlasken on it, so I instead bind it to D. Where it belongs.

Heretic.

Why is Janna suddenly considered good? She's been like D tier support like all season, but now she's getting picked everywhere? What changed?

Janna is never D tier. She can be unpopular, but ult and tornado are too powerful and unique abilities, together with her movespeed, that she is and always will be the defining disengage support champion and one of the more superior lategame supports. Has nothing to do with scaling, not even that much with the metagame, she has her own niche in which she unrivalled. If you make a comp that can abuse her, she can't be bad.

Sure, you can't play her into and with everything and expect the same success. But there's no way a champion like Janna could ever become D-tier.
Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.

Janna has alwayssssssssssss been good.
When new supports come into the meta, be it a previously mage-only champ or a new champion all together, the frequency of play among supports tends to change. But Janna's kit is amazing and if played right in lane she can be incredibly aggressive.
My Janna games generally end with me doing more damage than the enemy support and more than both junglers. Janna is often mistaken for a low-damage support so lower tier players don't favor her.
