Welcome to the Phoenix Islands, Kiribati. We are here in the Pacific Ocean, on eight small atolls over a thousand miles from even a hint of civilization. This is one of the largest protected areas in the world, home to over 100 species of coral amidst treacherous reefs and over 500 species of fish. The islands are filled with shallow, salty lagoons and are filled with greenery and life. Hidden far off in the Pacific, there has been almost no human attempt to settle any of these inhospitable islands, and their surface is almost unexplored. The wild creatures of this region have never seen a human. Home to fierce rainstorms and rough seas, rocky coastlines, pristine and unknown.
This is where these twenty Americans are beginning the adventure of a lifetime. Though they have not yet spoken, first impressions are already forming.
"There's a woman here who looks like a real outdoorsy type. She seems like the type to grab things by the horns and start going full steam ahead."
"People have always gravitated towards me. I'm a people person!"
"One, by one. They'll all go down. I didn't come here to make friends. I came here to make money."
20 strangers forced to work together to survive while battling the elements-- and each other. They must learn to adapt, or they'll be voted out. In the end, only one will remain to claim the million dollar prize.
Perhaps what really matters is the true nature of that one.
39 days! 20 people! One... SURVIVOR!
Mechanics:
This game will be played, in many ways, like the show.
Tribes: Players will begin the game divided into two tribes, each of which will play in their own private topic. There will be no Tribal immunity challenges, however. Days will last for a set period, after which there will be a voting phase. Each tribe will have to choose one of their own to eliminate. At some point, there will be a merge, and all the remaining players will return to a main thread. Once this occurs, Individual Immunity Challenges and the jury system begin to come into play. There may also be one or more tribe re-randomizations at some time before the merge. These will not be announced in advance.
Voting: During the voting phase, the thread is locked, and players PM their votes to the mod. After everyone has voted, I will reveal the votes in as dramatic a fashion as possible. The player with the most votes will be voted out. Regular voting does not exist and I will not be posting vote counts. It is guaranteed that there is no way I will reveal who voted for whom at any point in any way, so players are not accountable for their votes, though I will reveal how many votes each player received. In the event of a tie, there will be a revote, and only the tied players can be voted for, and the tied players will not vote. If this does not resolve the tie, other solutions will be implemented. A plurality of votes is sufficient.
Roles: This game is nightless and relatively low-power.
Individual Immunity: Once the merge phase of the game is underway, there will be a competition every round. These will consist of small games you can choose to participate in, not unlike something you might find in Mish Mash except that they will not be time-consuming unless, in some cases, you want them to be. The player who performs the best in each challenge cannot be voted for on the corresponding Day.
Hidden Immunity Idols: On Day 2, I will initiate a special competition, the winners of which will each gain an Idol. Idols are played in secret during the voting phase and nullify all votes cast against a player of the Idol user's choosing, including themselves. No further Idols will be distributed.
Jury: If there are three players left in the game and a win condition has not been achieved (note: in this game, scum do not necessarily win when they have the majority), the game will proceed to a jury vote. The seven most recently eliminated players will get the opportunity to address the remaining players and briefly interact with them before secretly voting on which player to declare the Sole Survivor. The Sole Survivor's faction wins.
Setup: Roles and alignments will have no bearing on one another. Flavor will, but flavor fakeclaims will also be provided.
Well, what are you waiting for?
