We are Steve Berg, Vanilla Town. Our flavor is about being an extra in what must be Dr. Horrible's singalong. Thoughts in a bit.

But then there arises a concern, because of this:
If an invention will have a protown effect when it affects a scum, it will have an anti-town effect if it is given to a scum. Eg: say you have a kill, but you dont know whether it is a JOAT style kill or a Inventor style kill, in that you dont know whether it will kill the target or give a target a kill.
If you kill a scum, thats good. If you give a kill to a scum, thats bad.
If you kill a town, thats bad. If you give a kill to a town, thats better.

If you arent told which way it works, then you dont know whether to use it on a scumread or townread.
Boon gave the Lightning rod to Anatole because he thought it would

Boon gave the kill to Medea because he wanted to see how he would react. This heavily implies knowledge that it would give a 1-shot kill to Medea, not kill him. If Boon had any doubt about whether it would kill Medea or give him a 1-shot kill, I really think boon wouldve asked Bulba.
Its not the contradiction thats the main problem, its the evolution of thought. Boon said he wasnt allowed to know about his inventions, but did a 180 in how his action works.

If sharing your role would hurt town as much as you seem to think, you should have thought about that ages ago and gone for a VT claim to begin with, or go for some sort of gambit to mislead scum, so as PGO you could have claimed something like beloved or ss.
