Why? No idea where this stems from.

BRantz wrote:@TSO: Why do you think it is a better strategy to modkill+lynch than just lynch, since you just said it didn't help town win last time? How do you propose getting those who are unwilling to infraction to do so?

Because we're in a better position than them and we're better than them. We're the fucking best.

Integrity is the answer to your second question - the town of Polite Mafia had it, my cellphone with 4G and lovely wallpaper has it, I have it, I presume the rest of you do too.

AngryPidgeon wrote:
Nachomamma8 wrote:I think that equating using mechanics to town advantage to cheating is absolutely bullshit though: if you design a game in a way where it can be taken advantage of, you're a bad moderator
I didn't call it cheating at first and I normally wouldn't. The people Im arguing with, however, fail to comprehend words that aren't harsh, so you see where Im coming from.

Im not making a mistake of putting opinions in anyone's mouth. All I've done is explain why this plan is as repulsive as excessive bile.

Fair enough, we'll speak plainly, since according to your recent posts I'm a big dirty rude cheater and obviously being polite is impossible for one such:

Your stance on infraction is idiotic regardless of your alignment. Your vote on me is also idiotic as I am borderline modconfirmed town and your reasoning for doing so seems to be a playstyle quarrel instead of actually a vote on scum, since you have not been able to legitimately call me scum for anything since F-16's death.

Why don't you go play to your win condition instead of this bullshit?

Death-by-infraction is a perfectly legitimate way to play and there is a serious issue when your hang-ups about a legitimate tactic lead you to brand people who wish to use it cheaters.

AngryPidgeon wrote:VOTE: TSO
This is a policy vote until he dies.

T S O wrote:AngryPidgeon's stance on this is a joke and his play has been so absurdly poor and scummy this game that he deserves to hang for it - or better yet, infract for it.

This is so extremely offensive that I considered just getting myself modkilled or replacing out.

I'm voting TSO until he dies or replace out.

The end.

Im done.

That is so cute.

Can we just go through this for a second? Which bit are you finding so offensive you plan to vote me until I "die or replace out?"

Was it me calling your play absurdly bad or scummy? Saying you needed to be lynched or infracted-to-death? Or me calling your stance on infraction a joke?

Because none of those are offensive to the point where you would do this if you had literally an ounce of rationality left in you. None of them are close to it. I have no idea when you're playing the victim here when you were the one who said my stance on this was the same as messaging a scum player to get the names of the other scum. That's cheating. You're calling me a cheater, and you still have the fucking nerve to then come out and pretend that
you
are the one who's "done" here?

Don't fucking tell me to replace out, by the way - go be responsible for your own conduct and your play instead of making stupid comments toward me when you've proven multiple times you have no problem escalating arguments with me when they're completely unneeded.

In postgame I will
prove
to you I didn't and don't intend to "cheat" this game - I have no interest in speaking of it until then but it's particularly galling for that reason.

TSO made no mistake, Nacho. Not one. And I don't usually express my opinions in a volatile manner - but I certainly did in this post.

Although it disappoints me to the extent my cellphone's lockscreen is now a sadface, it appears this town does not sanction infractions. kuribo, my regrets.

Mod said that modkills don't end the day. If their goal was for death by infraction not to be an allowed strategy, they would have let modkills end the day.
It's not against the spirit of the game if the mod approves of it.

More kills is more win, as I like to say.

Saying this as someone who's only just skimmed this page and hasn't read up since before the modkill (which I'm about to start doing right now): while a death-by-infraction tactic might be legal, that doesn't sound like a way in which I would want to play this game. It may not be against the spirit of the game according to the mod but it's not in the spirit of how I play. Not going to judge others for a willingness to do so but I absolutely don't believe that it should be considered alignment-indicative to object to such a thing (if that is indeed what is happening here).

Anyway. I'd better run and read up. Better not run too fast, though, as I have a tendency not to see where I'm going when at speed. Lost count of the number of lampposts into which I've run over the years...

I would definitely love to hear why anyone is townreading him - his taste in cellphones is atrocious, for what it's worth, unlike my precious lovely.

If it's -because- of his reaction to this, then I just don't know what to say.

A collection of thoughts:

Bookitty is obvtown. TSO is almost certainly town.

BRantz is town; I liked his wall here and I also think that his early interactions with F-16 are unlikely for a buddy. He sheeps the Nacho vote (which at least tells us that no more than one of BRantz&Nacho are scum but I think is particularly unlikely for a scumbuddy to jump on as the second vote at that point, and then quickly comes off when F-16 starts being weird about proxying his vote. I think a buddy would be along for the joke more fully, not turning it around on F-16 at the first sign of fuckery.

Katsuki->Metal Sonic is just one of the all-time worst slots. Heads-up; I wouldn't have signed up for this game if I knew that Metal Sonic would be joining it and will probably be ignoring him 99% of the time.

Nacho's Skrew vote is pretty good and I'm definitely considering coming on board with it. This almost-negligible presence is not what I would expect from townSkrew. I have seen him play scum more actively than this, though, so it's not necessarily a slam-dunk, but that was in Listen Up Mafia which in a lot of ways should probably be treated as an exception.

AP is at least having interesting opinions here; think scum are more likely to go ahead with the prominent people declaring massive townreads on Bookitty.

At best, this is a criminal lack of effort from Espeonage, who apparently considers having a flipped scum not worth anything above "RVS" levels of interest. This from a player who pretty much ignored the fuck out of F-16 and events involving him.

This is not the response for which I was hoping from AP to Bookitty pointing out what looked a legitimate point about inconsistency in his treatment of ika. I thought that the point
could
have been explained in a way which I would have accepted, but that explanation did not appear so made me unhappy. Not sure how much I balance this against his Bookitty read a moment ago.

Nacho is correct that this is bullshit from Tiershift.

Slight not-buddy ping on ffery here.

At this point, given that F-16's wagon was not being talked about because he had disappeared, this doesn't seem like a point at which scum would bus, so I'll take Muffin for town.

Not knowing F-16 very well, I couldn't get as many reads out of his big string of individual reads posts as I had hoped, but tentative reactions are that TierShift and Nobody Special are less likely buddies for their treatment here.

However, this seems to foreshadow an ika townread if and when he turns up again while acknowleding the fairness of the votes at the time... think it's plausible ika buddy material but aware that it could be confirmation bias.

-------

tl;dr:
My top suspects at the moment include Espeonage, Skrew and ika. Bookitty, BRantz, TSO and probably ffery are all town, at least. AP is a possibility but I think I'd rather go elsewhere for the time being.

UNVOTE: ika
VOTE: Espeonage

Do you think TSO is scum?
Why am I still scummy?

I already said Im not going to talk about F16. Anything I say will be completely biased now that he is flipped scum. If I had things I wanted to say prior, I would have said them. Much like this sentiment which I DID say already.

I voted you because I don't feel strongly about any scumreads. I have a slew of townreads and you aren't a part of them; my vote on BC was getting really stale at that point.

I don't give a shit about TSO's alignment. I want him dead. Hes scum regardless of his alignment.

You are scummy because I see very few things in your ISO to indicate that you are scumhunting. Accusing me of voteparking is disingenuous, your alignment aside, and you attempting to back that statement up when its pointed out how short a time Ive been voting you is scummy. All you've done is needle me over a perceived lack of content, which Im really not going to buy coming from you right now.

T S O wrote:I will prove to you I didn't and don't intend to "cheat" this game

No, you don't fucking get it. I don't care what you think about this. You accused me of being SCUM for not going with your plan. I told you that I would have this opinion regardless of my alignment because I think this discussion supercedes wincon motivations in this game.

You proceeded to call me scum for not agreeing with you so I called you a cheater (which is not really how I feel about it) in hopes you would maybe be forced to understand someone else's perspective for once in your life.

I failed to realize that you are in fact incapable of doing that, so that is on me.

There is no 'proving' whether its cheating or not. The fucking point is that its a moral issue, whether you think it is or not and Im entitled to my goddamn opinion about it. Im not even in the minority here. Multiple people are supporting my side and you are still apparently scumreading me for this. Duhhhhhhhh.

Enough of this - it's not a question of morals and we shouldn't be bringing those into it. It's essentially not using the Role Cop you were given because you believe Role Cops are cheating. It's an entirely legitimate tactic, both sanctioned and expected by previous games and our current mods.

I doubt I'll respond to you anymore - the conversation is going nowhere. You maintain your recent bullshit of calling me scum - I am now "scum regardless of my alignment", which is a statement you're using because you can find no reason to scumread me. Your response to me calling myself modconf town is "lol", which is just as pathetically weak as the first.

Your reading comprehension is trash, by the way, because you are the only one who believes it's cheating. For example, CDB does not. So you can stop talking rubbish there.

You've called me a cheater. You're attempting to now row back on your insult - please don't waste your fucking time with that, it will not raise my opinion of you whatsoever.

I have tried to not insult you this game after doing it before - the full extent of it this game so far has been me calling your play poor and calling you an idiot. You've called me a cheat and repeatedly insulted me - I take being called a cheat very seriously. From experience, when you are insulted, you make a huge deal of it - but I haven't done that yet. But, yes, for me, being civil has been tried and is now gone out the window. I would much rather not talk to you because you and your twisted sense of morals irritate me to no end, but it seems clear I'll have to do it before the game is up because if you're town scum sure as hell won't be nightkilling you.

If we're forced to talk and you insult me again after my constant non-reciprocation of insults I will tell you exactly what I think of you, in exquisite detail, before I shove my lovely, sharp cellphone right up your anus. We good? We good. Glad we could be clear on this.

Now off you go and actually justify your vote because it's sitting on me with no good reason, and I assure you "scum regardless of alignment" isn't going to convince anyone.

The lack of my name crushes me. I am about to cry.

This one time at my house my cat brought in a bunny. The bunny thought the air vent was a rabbit hole. We didn't know this until we turned on the AC and the WHOLE house smelt like a dead bunny. Boy did that smell awesome. It was the actual smell of death in my house.

Beast, are you still calling me scum? If you are, I'll bash your head in with my cellphone - if not, who are your scumreads?
"i have the sickest grossest feeling that even if it's my lynch today, my townflip still won't lead to a tso lynch, and then he'll find some bullshit way to reason either shooting or lynching gm tomorrow because if there's anyone who can strongarm a mislynch despite his reads or cases being proved wrong time and again it's tso"

Very cool, thanks! Killing innocent citizens has my approval!
We're not lynching town just because you can't communicate with them, work on your own communication skills instead. Who has actually drawn scum, according to you?

All you've done is needle me over a perceived lack of content, which Im really not going to buy coming from you right now.

No, I'm attacking you for screaming at people instead of scumhunting; making long posts that are useless towards any goal but promote fights. In my case, there's no pretending: so far I've only stated a few townreads and have only really investigated you. I'll be the first to admit it. Why do you have so much trouble admitting you're doing nothing more?
You're not even voting your scumreads right now, just voting someone over a whiny personal conflict.

Also, what would be the problem if I were attacking you for a lack of content? I can do that regardless of my own content; the argument stays the same. Don't be a snob.

TSO, I know that AP is being a complete child, but you should not try to pass yourself off as "mod confirmed town". You are not. Stop even attempting to try that game. I've really enjoyed the insights I've learned from picking through your trash late at night, but you should stop trying to come off as conftown lest it damage people's opinions of you this game.

Somewhat on that topic:

AP, I asked for the role name, not "what you remember as the role name". It's important.

I still think Metal Sonic is scum. Nobody else seems to buy it though, despite all my efforts to learn his daily habits like how he starts brushing his teeth on the left side every day which I've now totally started doing as well

If nobody wants to join me on Metal Sonic then I'll move this vote where it'll do some good. AP has confirmed his intention not to contribute to town. If he's actually got a town role PM (doubt it based partly on his reluctance to actually share his rolename and only give "something like it") then he's sure not playing to his win con.

VOTE: AP
One's self-meta cannot be known without invalidating it.

Beast you're just trying to coast by and hope no one notices, aren't you?

What do you think of the argument between TSO and AP (and also TSO's idea on how we should play the game)? Same question to you Espeonage.

Mod can we get a prod on ika?

[The Serenes, decked up in their best executioner's haberdashery, struggle down the stairs carrying an IKEA box. It looks heavy. They set it down, open the box with an X-acto, and start to take out all the pieces.]

"Do we have the instructions?" asks the Serene with the booming voice. The smallest Serene waves the paper with one hand, and the Allen key in the other. Three hours later, and at least four instances of dismantling the project and starting again from scratch, they proudly stand back around their completed piece of furniture. An IKEA "ÅLEKTRÄK JÖR."

[The smallest Serene skips over merrily to T S O and unchains him, while Lady Serene grabs his cell phone, smashes it against the cement floor, and crushes it repeatedly with her Doc Martens in a satisfying fit of rage. They sit T S O on the chair, gag him with a few Cookie Monster Band-Aids, shave his hair, strap him down, and lower the metal headgear with all the wires.]

"Well, who wants to pull the level to zap that rude, annoying cell phone addict?" booms one Serene. All the prisoners raise their hands: "me! me! MEEEEE!" The Serene hands the electrical box to a prisoner, and the instant that he touches the lever, Lady Serene emerges from the darkness with a huge ax, takes a big swing and whacks T S O's head off. Everyone screams, except the Serenes, of course, because they are so zen. Lady Serene smiles and shrugs like a little girl.

"Sowwwwy! We only have 110 current and the chair needs a 220 outlet! Well that was pretty lulzy!"

No one dared to laugh at the outdated meme.

"Alright everyone, the Reverent Insincere is currently in rehab for a gambling addiction at
Serenity Rehab & Poultry Farm
... something about compulsive betting on cock fights... but with humans. But you know, he has to pay his creditors, so he agreed to text us the eulogy." She takes out her tablet, and turns it around so that everyone can see it.

[Reverend Insincere begins texting.]

"We R reun8ed here 2today to honor the 4G network that sustained our dear departed, his smartphone, which lays in pieces on the ground, and his charger. May be connect 4ever with the deity of his choosing."

[Reverend Insincere logs off, and the Serenes huddle back up the stairs, carrying two bags and a bloody ax.]

T S O, "Cell Phone Twit," Mason has been MODKILLED in a bloody mess.

"Now get cleaning, you degenerates," shouts out the smallest Serene, tossing a mop down the stairs. "Here's some inspiration!"

Paraphrasing a role PM is as easy as taking the "mafias" out of "mafiascum," fabricating a good fakeclaim is... sorry, I still got nothing.
