Ya, well I explained to TSO that his case on me was an outside the game attack and that the entire thing was a moral issue for me and he kept attacking me over it. So I feel completely fine about not attempting to read him. I wouldn't have been able to generate a good read there due to bias anyhow, so I didn't waste anyone's time trying.

In Post 165, AngryPidgeon finds my reasoning for finding Ffery town to be "weaksauce". His reaction to SK's comment about AP and I being scum together doesn't make him suspicious of SK; quite the reverse. He claims later that he didn't have a read on me, but note this little gem from that post:

Yes, I think that townreading someone over wanting to end RVS is a weak read. Ffery is more aware than a lot of people of her trends and meta (see previous post by her, for instance). I don't think that doing objectively protown things is a good town-tell in the first place, and even less for ffery who I assume would be just as likely to make that post as scum.

Why should I necessarily agree with you about SK's read on us being scummy? I thought his push was confident/strong in a way that looked genuine. My read on the slot has since faded after his repeated prod dodges.

One conftown, one person I feel pretty confident is town.

I don't have amazing scumreads in this game >.> (yet) and I'm not pretending that I do. In any case, I don't see how having bad reads is a scumtell unless you really thing that highly of me. Jury is still out on BRantz though, so don't assume hes town.

This is a masterpiece of innocent ignorance. AP doesn't know what happened. No idea. And why on earth is Ffery asking him for an explanation? OMG, what could it be about?

I had been away from home for like 24 hours. I wasn't caught up. I was entertaining company and found the time to make a really quick post in the meantime. No, I was not involved 100% in the game mentally. And no, it actually had not occurred to me that
A) People would actually report infractions to the mod
B) People would somehow think that this behavior makes them town. This makes my liver flare up.

In Post 328 AngryPidgeon is again on the fence about a widely townread player. I happen to think that F-16's behaviour toward me is better evidence for my alignment than my behaviour toward him, but AP doesn't mention any of that. He posts this:

A bit of sniping (in which I point out his inconsistency on Ika and he at first ignores it and then acts like it's a brand new concept to him.

Its not an inconsistency and I find inconsistency cases to usually fall on townies, so you'll forgive me if I'm a bit about the whole Ika thing.

I -understand- the points against ika. Agree was a stronger word than I intended to use and its making people think that I should be scumreading ika evidently. I understood the point on him. Its not a point I can really argue against. I don't think Ika is a bad lynch all things considered at any point in the game, just a meh one. So that is my opinion on ika.

I'm left with the general feeling that AP is not really reading the thread at all and is struggling for things to say that appear relevant.

Well I was away from this game for a while. Then I was just getting back into it when lol modkill happened while I was phoning it in. Ever since then I've spent my entire time in the game defending myself from really crappy cases. Like, for instance, I just spent about 40 minutes writing this response to you that I could have spent ISOing ffery or whoever else. Thats cool though, cause I know ignoring your case would have been even scummier!

I think you're leaping over the ketchup and landing squarely in the hot sauce here. That's going to leave a nasty stain.

1. I'm not trying to say I'm obvious town. Quote me once where I said that or implied it. I KNOW I'm town, but I haven't been saying that nor trying to paint my actions that way.

2. In fact, I actually POINTED OUT that my vote was on Ika. And I said it was more likely F-16's interactions with me that were making people read me as town, not mine with him. I could frankly care less who reads me as what. I do think your pushes have been weaksauce, to borrow a phrase. It looks to me like you're SOLELY reading ISOs and you're not keeping up with the game. I think that throwing a little fit now because someone thinks you're scum and omg the tragedy of having to defend yourself instead of doing the ISO you so want to do on Ffery is overblown, much like your little snit at me over being "read up". It reads as fake to me.

3. Did you read the rules of the game?

If fellow players (or if the mod notices!) anonymously report (by PM to the mod) more than 3 failed post restrictions per game day, YOU WILL BE MODKILLED!

This quote doesn't really do it justice, since it's multicoloured and in big huge print. Still, I think it would have been a pretty big hint that "people would actually report infractions to the mod." I certainly read it that way.

it was everyones and so i checked out of the game and like never looked back so i havent noticed people just working aoung their cool blue restrictions.

Ffery, we should talk. I want to have a townread you, but some voice in my head keeps saying that most (all?) of your content so far could just as easily be from scum as town. I find your progressions all relatively believable but, nothing you've posted really sticks out iny my mind as an "oh ya, that looks town I guess" way. In fact, looking in a broad sense, I am concerned that you are rather calm and commanding this game. I guess I'm expecting some paranoia or fervor and just not seeing it for whatever reason. All that said, I'm saying this purely from an off the tp of my head picture of your posts. I do owe you an ISO to see just how substantiated my concern is.

It annoys me that you've lumped me in with most of my scumpile here.

? I agree that your read of me shouldn't be influenced, especially by reads you disagree with. I just don't see how somebody else reading me for weak reasons should induce paranoia about me, as opposed to say, people townreading me for weak reasons.

I don't really like talking in detail about how I read someone because it makes it harder to read them in future games. :/ Sometimes I just want to sort my chex mix bowl mostly in silence.

The foundation of my reads (in general) rest on tone and timing. Right now it's very hard to read AP via timing because he's been low-activity and sporadic in posting. Like, right now, I've been waiting over 24 hours for him to re-engage with me.

His tone as town tends to be more defensive and paranoid. As scum, he's more likely to shout someone down than defend against their points and the tone of his defense is more snarky and superficial, and he's less likely to let you into his head regarding why he's thinking what he's thinking about other players. As town he shows a genuine interest in being understood. He also encourages discord as scum, and will focus in on things that are likely to become emotional if flames are fanned.

F-16's scum game is manipulative. Looking at his iso I see that the bulk of his manipulation was directed at nacho. He also worked on me in a couple of posts (and did it in a really heavy-handed parody of stuff he knows I have picked up from his scum game, which still weirds me out a little, but w/e, he's flipped scum). To target AP similarly to the way he went after me, he had to have some specific stuff from AP in the game thread, which wasn't there yet at the time he did his AP reads. It's possible from that lack of manipulative interaction that AP could be scum, but I'm not seeing the stuff I look for in AP's scum game.

What it comes down to at the moment is that I'm not seeing any stuff I associate with his scum game, and I'm seeing stuff that I do associate with his town game. My reads change as more data hits the thread (and also as I get paranoid about the lack of incoming data) and it's possible this read could change. He's not hit paragon of town notes for me that would nail the read down solidly for all time.
