Meta slightly, his (early-game) play is similar to all the other games I've played with him. In all of those he's been town as well so I like to believe I slightly know his town play. I can go and point out the town motivation in his posts however I'm not arsed to do that unless you require it.

Um, RVS vote paired with crap made up reasoning. That tends to happen and others did this, why are you so over defensive when this should be clear. I voted you because I wanted to vote someone, I wasn't (at that time) scum reading you. How long have you played mafia?

Secondly, what made you decide on me instead of ActionDan? Who also voted for copper.

I don't know, my brain felt like voting you randomly and then proceeded to think up some sarcastic fake reasoning, as must RVS votes are.

My reason for voting on copper is because RVS is just throwing random votes around which could just end up on one vote on several players which doesn't result in much. So I voted for copper to stack some votes up on him to garner something in return and see how he would react. But I guess now that I explained my reason, it wouldn't really work anymore.

No it's not fake sarcastic reasoning. Im used to playing mafia on another site which uses 24 hour day phases so there isn't much time as we have here to discuss. So I'm used to pointing out the lurkers who posts non substantial things to keep themselves in the game. And I've had some past success catching scum like this.

My first impressions are that Om, Wguerts, & Molla are decent, Tripod is indecent, I'm meh on Drixx, while BRantz & Copper are bothering me. has to do with me not liking how he reached his scumreads. I'm leery of the stuff that involves 'this can be scum motivated, ergo it probably is.' Not a lot curiousity. Having trouble explaining this one. I'll try again tomorrow, if needs be.

Quick overview - Om's take feels similar to my early thoughts. Want to see how this develops, but I'm liking her so far. Wguerts is just gut based von the last game, so far. Drixx is TBD. I'd like to see BRantz committing more. (I'm not even going to pretend I've done more than skim Tripod. I'm going to need a lot of brain bleach. )

Really? This is pretty simple as a mental exercise.

There are two main possibilities here, which branch:

1.) He's telling the truth, in which case he's got the power to skip a night phase at some critical point in the game to help town, investigating him is useless, and the scum have to decide whether to kill him or let him live to cast increasing doubt on his claim. Him living far into the game wouldn't be necessarily useful as an indicator to his trustworthiness at all.

2.) He's lying. (Whether about the role or alignment or both doesn't particularly matter). The most disastrous outcome of such a fake claim being believed would be the already suggested scenario where we "trigger" his claimed ability at what we don't realize is actually LYLO and then no night skip happens and we lose.

There are various branches of possibilities for each case ... but suffice it to say that the claim throws a great deal of WINE into the proceedings, at a very early stage in the game. The question, I suppose, is whether it's both believable as a role claim (mine is bizarre enough that I could buy it) and that it's also believable that a town aligned and experienced player would have made the claim so early. The latter portion seems questionable to me.

If I'm a miller with that one-shot ability, I play to my win con and maybe breadcrumb the miller part. I don't think I would talk about that ability at the start of day one. I'm also fairly new to MS so there's that.

its pointless to debate the claim when barely anybody is actually looking at any motives he would have had to post it or even just the tone of his general posting

A. This is day 1, why would we save it to anywhere near LYLO? And if I'm lying about the role than I'd literally just be claiming scum when the nightskip doesnt happen, how the fuck does that make any sense. IT'S A PROVEABLE CLAIM HOW DO YOU NOT GET THIS
B. If I am a miller I am claiming it day 1. Period. Look for MD articles, some don't follow that, but 90% of the time when there is a miller they've claimed day 1.

Like, if a player "breadcrumbed miller" and I got a guilty on them, I'm fucking lynching them.

Claiming miller in your first post D1 is actually the best way to play it, you want to give town the choice of mislynching you immediately if you can't get their trust in a day where we usually end up mislynching anyway and as a miller you are a better lynch over a VAt and you want to avoid wasting investigatives on you, compensating this kind of role with a cool ability in order to incentivise an early claim and rewarding the player if he manages to be believed is a role design that makes a lot of sense to me so I tend to believe BBmolla's claim.

This post and other BBmola's make me believe in his claim. Although this IS the game for crazy claims to be believable, BB's seems ok. I see no scum motivation to make such a verifiable fake claim right of the bat D1.

In other news, and following the same line of thought, I think Never-Melt Ice needs more pressure. Even if his claim his real, I don't like how he does it immediately and without obvious motivation to do it. He could even be a Scum (Neighbor Day Cop)
