That's great and all, I have a cousin who has some mental issues and I probably shouldn't have used the word "retarded". If it hurt your feelings to some extent, then I'm fucking glad. Replace out, please. Some of us play mafia forfunand aren't here to be personally insulted and harrassed. I don't care what your deal is or what "condition" you're in, deal with it and replace out if you're having issues.
P-EDIT: Not moving my vote. I don't care if you're confirmed town, you're more detrimental than scum is to us right now. Go die.- God of Power Outlets

I'm having a really hard time separating my distaste for the personality of tptg and his posting style, both in character and out, from my reads on him.
TPTG: Mason, you say? two different 13 person games. Would a 3 person mason team be reasonable in a 13 player game? My first thought when I read that was well, now tptg and their partner should confirm each other, since scum can just kill tptg now and break up the masons, because I didn't think a mason group larger than 2 seemed likely...but maybe it is, and so his mason claim at what, 2 votes, isn't as terrible as it seems to be.- vonflare

Hmm. Soren doesn't care that I'm voting for him, which is perfectly reasonable, but ignoring the reason why I'm voting for him isn't. He hasn't pushed the D1 claim thing at all though, but I'll just leave the vote there for the time being.
I did respond. More specifically the full claims thing. But I guess you didn't see my post.- Soren

Correct me if I'm wrong but has Drixx even responded to Om's case properly yet?
He keeps saying that he has to sleep and has work to do, which is perfectly fine, go do that because that has a higher priority. But he has the time to make several posts with many a paragraphs, yet he couldn't use that time to properly respond to Om's case?- BRantz

This is not the Drixx I would rxpect, especially given his reaction in a recent game when another player did exactly this. Will wait to see if we get reads from him before deciding anything else there.
The last few pages have been... Interesting... to say the least.- Ozgin

Good timing I guess. I think I already responded but I'll pull out what the main points seem to be and respond to them. If people want a serious set of reads, I will need to take time on that. I don't give out reads on a whim and I don't evaluate people at surface level. My memory of this game so far suggests that a lot of people haven't put enough in the thread to form a proper read on. I'll do my best to have a useful and cogent output to the reads request this afternoon. As for the case Om made:
1.) The first criticism was of my first post in the game, which was pretty flippant. RVS isn't supposed to be serious, but apparently my first post was taken so seriously that Om wanted me dead ever since it.
2.) The second criticism was that I spent a lot of time talking about myself. This is true on its face, but Om conveniently left out the fact that the majority of the quoted posts where I'm talking about stuff is in response to other people questioning, mostly to the folks who have played with me on site already. They noted that I was playing differently (and in Copper's case, he's seen me as town and scum already, for whatever that's worth).
3.) Om thirdly says I'm scum because I went from not expressing a scum read on it (no pronoun listed) and after several repeats of voting for me and urging others to do so without having provided a reason, I finally responded and questioned its motives. My post was pretty standard I think. Often the question to ask is "who benefits?". I didn't see any motive for Om to be pushing people to vote me (because nobody had given any reason), so I questioned its motives. That caused it to post #566, criticizing me for that. I don't think there is any merit to this point since anyone can andshouldcriticize someone who is pushing for people to jump on a wagon without any reason or motivation given.
3a.) Om specifically says that I'm scum because I didn't ask some direct question but instead criticized its suggestion that everyone vote me without having given any reason or motive (My #559). Difference in style isn't indicative of alignment. I got exactly the response I wanted from #559; namely, Om went and found reasons to fit the narrative. It took Om nearly 40 minutes to give reasons for voting me. This suggests to me that Om had to go looking and didn't actually have reasons in mind, which reinforces the questions I asked in #559 about motive.
4.) Om then says I have no desire to look at its thoughts, when in fact I prompted it to share them by questioning its motivations. This seems contradictory. Apparently in Om's world, the only way to take a look at someone's thoughts is to do it in specifically the way Om would. Different strokes for different folks.
5.) Om criticizes me for putting some theory thoughts in the game without giving my own conclusions. Apparently Om hasn't heard of making a post that prompts discussion in hopes of catching a response that is scummy. Why would I try and get responses from people and then influence or negate any read I might get from those responses by giving my own opinion up front? The whole point is to get other people to actually commit something besides fluff into the game. The less obvious something is as an attempt to trip up scum, the more comfortable I've found that most scum are to answer and respond, as they don't see any harm in doing so, and doing so lets them look active and engaged.
6.) Om criticizes me for responding flippantly to early pressure. Until Om posted #566, there was no stated reason or motive to vote me, so what was I supposed to respond to? Over-reacting to naked votes is not generally smart, no matter what alignment you might have. If you look at Om's ISO, you'll see that it made several naked pushes on me before I questioned its motives for doing so.
7.) Om finally criticizes me for questioning the, in its words "glaring issue" of there being no case. It goes on to criticize me for focusing on that instead of "investigating any further than on the surface". Right ... because there was anything to investigate whatsoever before the post that ends in this criticism?
-------------------------
So there is the case, inasmuch as I'm willing to classify it as an actual case (it isn't), and some brief response. Reads on people will take time and effort to do properly, especially if I decide the only way to do it proper is to quote everyone. Setting up the quotes for each person, my responses, the spoiler tags and such ... pretty time consuming. I'm a bit on the fence about whether to spend that amount of time on this particular game given how close I came to being lynched while I slept and the fact that Om (and others) actually added scum points to me because I went to sleep instead of taking an hour (or longer) to put together a lengthy reads post. I think perhaps I'll see how Soren and others respond to the requested defense that I've now given.
As a question to everyone who voted for me: Why am I the only person who is being prosecuted for not having found probable scum yet? There's a whole game full of people who haven't pushed anything to any significant degree, nor posted any real reads (including just about everyone voting for me). Feels a lot like the pots calling the kettle black.
@Copper - As you can see from reviewing Om's "case", there isn't actually a case there. Om has some strange idea that one should respond to a non-motivated, non-reasoned push against them in some other way than questioning the push. Om wasn't very specific about what is an acceptable response in its mind. I've seen this sort of "I don't like that you play differently than me" situation before. The entire case boils down to nothing more than the fact that I play differently than Om, along with some amusingly bad stuff tacked on at the end. I've seen countless townies go to lynch trying to fight against situations like this. Note how many people climbed on board despite the case having no real merit. So I would say that your suggestion that I feel like I'm getting lynched no matter what is pretty spot on. I can't really change someone's mind when they're acting on purely irrational and subjective grounds.
Give me something objective and rational to go on, and I'm much more confident.
@BRantz - Yeah, I'm not doing anything near to what you're referencing. There's a difference between being dismissive and just outright antagonizing the town. See what the phallic obsessed person has done in the last couple pages ... I think that's much more close to what you're referring to.
@Ozgin - Why should my wagon be the only thing people pay attention to? There's 26 of us in this game and even if I were scum, I would obviously not be the only scum. Also ... since Soren poked me for an actual defense, TPTG obviously didn't distract "everyone" from anything.
For the record, the bordering on obscene (porno?)graphic posts by TPTG have bothered me out all game. I mean ... people are free to read or write whatever they like, but I don't think the stuff TPTG was posting is really appropriate for this site and game (and that's BEFORE the recent explosion). Part of my less than 100% commitment to the game is probably related to those posts. I wasn't going to make a big fuss about them or anything, but they certainly made this game feel odd in a bad way, at least to me. - Drixx
