Because the standard Mollie reaction to getting called scum is to shut down and lurk, the fact she is eagerly trying to prove she is town and the way she is name calling her detractors are part of her town meta, it goes back to what she said about all her hydras being players that want to troll because they know they will likely not be lynched, she has that much of a disparity of meta between scum and town that it usually is obvious which one it is.

So while normally this would be a done deal, it's worth investigating here, because either she woke up today with a new resolution to defend herself more as scum or something else is going on that I don't understand.

It makes sense as a defence from Mollie cause she does sometimes mess up with mechanics, so claiming they also get a fruit is compatible with them checking Oranje and then not getting it, by making us figure it out for them it looks more realistic which makes their claim more believable.
