↑Cephrir wrote:tier, your tone this game is not like it was in the poe game and it bothers me in a difficult to quantify manner
You were in Poe?
Rhinox, it's not that katsuki is going for the counterwagon. It's that cabd had been hanging around the null/scum mark for lurking or something and now when deadline approaches this is suddenly 'not town-cabd' and reck and iec made very good points on cabd. It's fine if you vote the counterwagon, but pretending you're suddenly certain he's scum is not.
↑Cephrir wrote:i'm not actually voting you right now
the reason i'm interested in you claiming is that i don't think there is a role that meets the specifications it would have to for your play to make sense
Do you only play normals or something?
No sir. But apparently
-it only needs to live to day 2
-it's okay if it gets roleblocked/otherwise fucked with
↑TierShift wrote:Why does anyone think katsuki is town? Serious question.

I mean, kats is pretty hard to read in a vacuum IMO but in my meta on him scumkats is more involved, tries to actually get people lynched, is more manipulative, cares more, etc. And townkats lurks more, is less involved, goes with the flow, doesn't really make cases or what not especially early in games. Kats play looks more like townkats. I've even seen townkats selfvote on like day 3 rather than trying to get someone else lynched, and that fits with the whole "eff this I'm out" he was going with earlier. So in terms of his play this looks more like townkats to me. As for tone I already talked about how I expect the capsrage to come from scumkats moreso than townkats but Tammy told me kats has been doing that as town lately so...
Its the same feeling I had last time I played with kats. You could tie me down and try to force me to explain what makes kats town and I can't really do it based on his play. But I think despite that, this looks like townkats. And I'm not too comfortable with a lot of the names on the kats wagon either.
I'm not comfortable with the names on the wagon either but I so completely understand why they're voting it.
Do we not think someone who's apparently god's gift to scum can emulate his town game? Even I can do that and I'm apparently garbage, so.
↑Rhinox wrote:Does anyone think Cabd is town? Tier what is sketchy about kat's shift onto Cabd? A player getting wagoned within a day or 2 of deadline shifting to the other viable wagon is not really something I find odd or out of place at all.
I don't, but it feels too easy and he's no different to me than 7 other players in this game. I'm being skittish.
pedit @tier: i was the main poster in policy lynch
I think Rhino has the most authority out of anyone this game with regards to how I play as scum, considering how he and his entire team got snowed by me last time around, and he had a very strong team consisting of certain players who think very lowly of me too (Fonz thinks im a lovely VI).
@Tier: Oh so apparently I'm not allowed to cite how bad Cabd's reactions in the past 12-24hrs have been okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

@kats whenever he asked this: The only townreads I feel really good about right now are EddieFenix's slot and maybe shos. Iec and Rhinox are weaker townreads.

Ok so I don't know how you're townreading shos that strongly, but that's a separate discussion to be had.
What I want to ask is, what is keeping to from voting with your townreads as oppose to all the shady folk over there on my wagon? I have an infamous reputation for sheeping because when town, I trust my ability to townread selective players and will just sheep. You should try doing that.
One of the reasons why I've been struggling the past 2 years as town is because none of the players I can auto-read play anymore, and that really makes games hard for me. Obviously I don't want you to follow Shos onto me, but maybe this will help you navigate the game until you get your feet under yourself.

It's true though, I know I'm a godawful scumhunter and should listen to my townreads more. I just wish I believed in said townreads more. I've gotten used to playing with certain people who I can easily be made to feel comfortable working with and would more happily sheep (hi ffery!) and I either get into a groove where I'm confident in my reads and then I play well or I don't do that and this happens.

This doesn't really bother me at all.

I found kats to be pretty transparent in the past, despite his attempts to not be. Its possible he's gotten better at that in the past couple years since I've been playing regularly I guess. I certainly never learned how to emulate my town game as scum tho.
By the way my team is completely torn on kats and the 2 wagons currently, but TH trusts my judgement and OS would be more comfortable with a Cabd lynch.
↑Katsuki wrote:Oh shit. I think I am very transparent, but if youre finding me to be so then it means i have to watch out for you from now on rhino :igmeoy:
I called you town on D1 in /invitational 13 and you kept asking me why. I remember you even assumed I flipped scum without looking in the postgame and accused me of BS-ing that meta read. Me thinking you're transparent is nothing knew since you post TM2012.
How interesting. If I remember correctly, I was reading you as scum as an extension of my mith-scumread? Regardless it's still surprising given the differences between my play there and here as I literally spent the entire game calling mith scum and begging you guys to lynch him until he mislynched me.

briefly popping in from studies to deliver the promised post.
The NS thing is an issue of whether I would lynch Shos in a heartbeat, vs. the idea that I would go out of my way to save him.
I hate meta, but I have a long standing history as scum of not giving a single fuck about my partners, and being confident that I could bus all my scum buddies in the opening days, and solo carry the game to victory. It's been true since my first scum game (Brotherhood of the Wolf Mafia) and only once have I ever altered it (Scummies Invitational last year, when my team consisted of Singer and Matias and Kanye, who were all people I liked, and all people I knew were competent, and other situational things like the "Always On" Party invitation Singer and I both got... I could go on.)
Essentially, were Shos indeed scum with me, per NS' theory, he'd be dead by now.
I still remain confident that Katsuki is scum, though. I have this weird feeling that Katsuki has a one-shot role that he REALLY wants to use, and that feels like scum to me. It's possible scum were given an extra kill (like a one shot vig or something) that they desperately want to use. What's weird about the whole situation, is that if that is INDEED the case, my read on Shos would have to be wrong, because Shos is pushing the Katsuki wagon like a monster.
Infact, I'm almost certain of two things from my reading of the game so far (and yes, I'm missing opinions on a lot of other people, but I focused mainly on the present wagons for today, so I could make an informed vote).
1) Katsuki and Shos are different alignments. 100000000%
2) The correct play is to lynch one of them today.
This Cabd wagon nonsense is silly. I don't get it, and I honestly have a gut town read on Cabd. My vote remains on Katsuki, because I honestly believe Katsuki is a powerful scum one-shot ability who is desperate to live (and was trying to crumb his role today, so he could use it tonight and then apologize for misusing it, but use his crumbing as an attempt to look pro-town) and Katsuki's reactions to being pushed have been dreadful.
