I think one of the reasons he feels off to me is he never is town reading people. Last game as scum I remember him doing something similar, and it gave him room to maneuver and scum read anyone he wanted.

That one is asking for a man's town reads. With the open setup a man is thinking it should be self explanatory that if a man is reading four as scum he is playing under the assumption the rest are town.

Ionization Energy of Transition Metals

A transition metal’s ionization energy is related to the energies of its d orbitals, its ease of oxidation, and its basicity. In simplest terms, the greater a metal’s ionization energy, the harder it is to pull an electron from it. Thus, metal centers with high ionization energies exhibit low basicity (or nucleophilicity) and are resistant to oxidation. Trends in ionization energy are more complex than atomic size trends, as the plot below amply demonstrates.

The first thing we may notice is that in general, ionization energy increases as we move from left to right across a row. Notable dips occur at row 1, group 10 (Ni) and row 3, group 7 (Re). However, the general trend is consistent with our previous notion that electronegativity increases as we move left-to-right across a row. As for trends down a group, it’s difficult to discern anything useful in the graph above. What we can say (considering second and higher ionization potentials, not shown) is that higher oxidation states are more accessible to third-row metals. Easy way to remember this: OsO₄ is a stable reagent that reacts only with alkenes; RuO₄ is prepared in situ and ravages alkenes and alcohols; FeO₄ has never been observed.

We’ll touch on trends in acidity/basicity again in a later post on hydride ligands, but they tend to follow the trends in bond strength described below: basicity increases (and acidity decreases) as we move down a group, generally.

i'm about to catchup so i'll see where my vote lands after that. from my very brief skimming i haven't liked the metal sonic half of sonic boom (not read titus' posts and to be honest, i'm not sure i'll get a read off titus) mainly because from when he tried to convince everyone to vote zzzx, it reminded me of metal sonic from the pokemon upick we just played. i don't know how much faith i have in my own read though, since this would involve ms playing the same way with two of his scumbuddies from pokepick. meh. we'll see where i end up in an hour or so.

I think I like cerberus for town. he seems quite agreeable, and i don't think that is coming from new-to-the-board scum. he doesn't seem afraid to question people either.

Oh, and before we get any farther:

@Ika- In this game, more than others, I will treat quickhammering as a scumclaim. The inventors have to give away their items during the day, which means that ending the day early can only hurt town. You can have the hammer. Sure. But we need to have at least 24 hours warning before the end of the day phase, and I'd prefer the day to last at least 10 days even if we catch scum to give the inventors time to decide their targets.

I suppose that isn't only important to ika, but hey. :shrug: It seem's super important with him in the game.

I'm basing this on being an inventor last game (haha, I won the game for town) and majiffy's hammer on day 4 or whatever. Super frustrating, and I doubt anti will be that nice twice.

feel like this is a bit of a backtrack from "gorkington's replace out is kinda scummy" to "well, maybe we shouldn't talk about it." it's completely possible you realise this fact as either alignment and are just doing the right thing, but worth keeping an eye on.

Feels like the post was meant to come across as pleasant / casual / avoid making a big splash.
