Over-reliance on setup spec and using roles as alignment confirmation are the two biggest reasons town lost this game. Not enough paranoia.

BC: Brantz/NM was a traitor who was never recruited and thus never had access to his faction kill or PT...so his actions all took place wholly separate from those of the rest of volcano(who was nuking btw, while berlin was incinerating).

Plotinus: Bravo. You deserved that win, and I'm really sorry you were denied it. The rest of the town, not so much, we kinda sucked in my opinion, but you were fantastic. I'm also really sorry that all your analysis of the game looking for associative tells etc. was basically useless, because Brantz wasn't really associated with his team.

Also, I kinda wish I were scum this game, just so I could be sure that my irritation at the mod intervention would hold true even if it hadn't hurt my team. I'd like to think that it's objective and I just think the way it was handled is wrong, but I'm sure there's some degree of personal annoyance there too.

Kuribo: Speaking of that, I assume the reason why both lost was as a compromise for screwing up the game state already. Yes, it is bs that everyone had to wait another two weeks to find out what happened, for essentially no reason, but I think it's better than if either faction had actually "won" the game off the back of the mod intervention.

Plot, I'm a bit busy writing up some nominations for you in the scummies thread to write up my thoughts quite yet, but I really think you ought to read the dead thread. You were amazing, and an absolute pleasure to watch. Frankly, I'm shocked that you were lynched, and it certainly wasn't for your play.

I'd love to play with you again sometime. I"m currently taking a short hiatus from Mafia for the next month or so, until I get my schedule back in order, but I hope our paths cross again.

Honestly, as annoying as some points in this game were, it was really freaking cool, and I want to say thanks to the mod for pulling this together, and thanks to all the players involved. Special thanks to the dead thread for taking what could have been something problematic, and being really freaking awesome. Wish I could nominate it for something too.

Now, as to whether the setup was bullshit. I don't know. The town was REALLY fucking strong. multiple bulletproofs and investigative roles, two doctors with a backup doctor, 1 mason team which included doctors and one potential mason team that could have grown to a three man mason team. That shit sounds hard to balance.
